Lol funny
Hey I have a quick question for you: Does the car run on petrol or diesel and why did you choose what you chose?
@@betaich It has petrol engine. There is no Toyota 4 Runner in the US with diesel engine. The diesel engine is not popular in the US, particularly after the VW engine scandal. You can find diesel engine only the in much bigger Heavy Duty truck.
@@betaich Their Toyota runs on Petrol .
Any chance you'd be willing to make a brief video of the process for taking a firearm through Canada? You've mentioned you had one with you on your journey, but some info on your experience with the process would be great. Thank you!
it is really nice to see your daughter entertaining herself with art work. I can tell you as kids ourselves 55 years ago that's what we did in the back seat of Dads car while traveling west to Manitoba and Northern Sask. Brings back fond memories.
I hope you guys understand how many people you’ve inspired to get out and travel like the three of you are doing, Because a decade can pass by within a blink of an eye and moments like you guys are making will last a life time!
WOW! The drone shots in the opening are phenominal!
Thanks, Michael!
Love Your Videos!! The editing, music, and drone shots are incredible! As a Father of two, now 18yr old daughter and 16yr old son, I can say without a doubt that these times with your daughter are incredible. You will remember them forever and so will she.
Thank you for another amazing video ! I appreciate your hard work, spirit of adventure and your courage to live your dream..
Thank you.
Bucket list stuff right here. This is in the top 5 of my list of things.
Another amazing ride you sure pick some good music really enjoy it. 👍👍🇨🇦
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing video! I just came back from Dalton Highway and I love it.
Love from India specially for little runner God bless all of you love you
Every video, I can always count on Caroline making me smile and laugh.
She's a little sunshine for sure!
@@scriptchild6743 You should be ashamed of yourself for your comment. For someone to infer 'pedo' to someone's reply is despicable. Internet muscles...
Thank god. Now I have something to watch tonight!
Enjoy!
Rule number 1 on Dalton Highway. If you see gas, buy gas. Yukon Crossing is your first chance.
One of your best cinematography yet! Love you three!
Nice drive. Beautiful grassland and terrain. Kindly make a video how a tent look from inside. thanks
WOW, some of the most beautiful cinematography and drone work you have done. AWESOME adventure. Thank you for taking the time to make these
Thanks, Maurice!
I haven't even started to watch yet, but just know it's gonna be great! I'll be back as soon as the popcorn's ready!
"It's only overkill until it isn't." I like it. I am a big fan of overkill. I like to say, "overkill is underrated."
"THIS IS AWESOME! THIS IS AWESOME!" I totally agree!
I was really feeling that one! So AWESOME!
@@LifestyleOverland I love it! I have watched all 33 episodes...
The quality of this video is out of this world! :D
Thanks!
absolutely love the music, and the wildlife pics!
The travel insight is really appreciated, and the neat info, like that from the visitor's center, is just great!
Almost in tears, wishing I could have ridden along.
Glad you enjoyed it, Michael!
@@LifestyleOverland the music accompanying (is that the right ENglish?) is what had me coming back, good pictures is one thing many people can do, but paring it with the right music is even better. On top of that you and the family are just infectious with the whole thing and very likeable.
HAHA I caught myself waving back to Caroline :-) You all make me want to get out on a trip.
Haha, so many of these things we know nothing about until it's time to edit! She's one awesome girl!
Ahhh, that outhouse at Galbraith Lake has saved me from many a windy and wet bathroom trips while at sheep hunting base camp. Great videos!
Haha! It saved us too!
Definitely the BEST UA-cam channel! You guys do an amazing job!
I enjoy your sense of adventure.
it was a great feeling to watch all these videos .. Actually was debating between Gladiator Vs Tacoma.. ended up finding your video and started watching all of these.. well there is lot of material and experience been shared. I love nature visiting places.. soon will start camping culture.. do post trips more n more.. I like your songs .. they are all good.. seems lot of good amount of time spend on all of these..
Mükemmel bir video olmuş izlerken heyecanlandım
Teşekkürler
Love your videos so much!
Outstanding!!!!
Great video thank you!
Appreciate the support, Gilbert!
So very well done - each and every episode makes me want more and also makes me feel like I'm in the truck with you!! Your cinema style is so refined and storytelling very engaging. The opening sequence with the drone footage is REALLY amazing - some of those pan/pull/orbit shots are truly impressive!! WOW!!!!
Great production, thanks
Awesome video guys!! As my bucket list of places to see expands, so does my spotify playlist!! Great combination of adventure and music!! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks, Tim! We're both big music lovers and believe it should be part of the story telling. Glad you're enjoying the mix!
One more great video. Thanks keep it coming.
Thanks! Will do!
Epic Travels! Love following your adventures, Cheers.
Thanks, Cheyne!
Re the Dalton and the sealed vs unsealed roads. Here in Australia they are digging up lots of outback roads and going back to the dirt roads, as it costs less to maintain and doesn’t end up full of potholes.
Editing on these videos is on point.
It was awesome !
What beautiful landscape you guys got to travel through. Super cool shots! Taking notes over here for when we plan an AK trip. 😄 Another awesome episode.
Thanks Mike! We will creating a "how-to" for trip prep on the Dalton and Dempster soon.
I have seen snow in Nevada in June. But that was early June which is considerably cooler than August. And this was in the mountains by the Idaho border.
Just found your channel. I see a lot of time spent viewing this content. Excellent video, and inspiring.
Great video - super inspirational! I hope to make this trip myself one day. It looks like I'm going to need a bigger vehicle!
Great episode
Glad you liked it, Damien!
Que aventura inesquecivel familia, que paisagens pra tirar o fôlego,um dia farei todo esse percuso, parabéns e boas aventuras!
would recommend for the rear tires a set of custom made mud flaps...will save you a lot of detail work on the thingy
We agree. If we do it again with a trailer that is first on the list.
now that's what you call "wide open space's" ,nice,
Glad you enjoyed it, Paul!
Good morning from Needles, CA. That was superb footage....Needles highway down here is close to the California version of parts of the Dalton...LOL....Press on...be safe, and happy trails.
We're familiar with that one too! And the Mojave Road just off of that! Thanks for watching!
Cool to see all the places I missed because they were closed when I went through in October.
Luckily Alaska DOT is ripping up some of the pavement so hopefully it will be a less jarring ride. Down side is I watched a fully loaded B train sink into the road surface, A-DOT came along and pulled it out with their D10 dozer.
Aku seneng video mu cak 👍👍👍
Been through that Pothole issue on the same highway many moons ago.. My wheels didnt fair so well. Luckily one still held air.
It was nasty in a lot of places. Wish I could have filmed those bad spots but there wasn't many safe spots to pull over.
Loved this one! You music choices are just amazing. I often Shazam while watching...hahaha. Sorry to hear you all didn't make it to the AVL Overland meetup. Hope the flooding didn't cause too much damage.
Thanks so much, Andrea! Really bummed we couldn't make the meetup... hope to get out there before going west again.
Nice video.
This is absolutely amazing!!
Have thought to do such journey in desert?
Glad you enjoyed it! We've done the Mojave Desert several times.
너무 멋지네요 .
Great video Kevin, I am not a fan of pot holes either
Jason
Thanks, bud!
Damnit why do your videos have to be so emotional for me?! Safe travels!
I'm worried about you guys, my hope is that good fortune will come your way
You’ve held down my living room for another week, well done man! You mentioned the month of August and the whole time I thought these were almost like a week out live sort of thing. Are you guys just stocked on footage and back in the states now just releasing these as you go? If so are you guys still full time turtle back”in” ? Thanks for your effort and expertise again. Anything I can ever do for you in the central VA area let me know. I can be a decent trail guide with kids for Caroline to play with!
Just the look of the guard rails at the stop before Atigan Pass would make me a little nervous and decide just how serious I was about continuing ...
They are a bit for-boding right?
Absolutely love your videos. I've been waiting for your update all week. Well actually every week lol. A few questions I have.
How would you manage to cook your meals under those bad weather? Do you have a cover on top while cooking behind the turtleback?
Another question: I wanted to have a Sequoia to get into overland adventure, but I don't see many people using that as overlanding vehicle. Is't because of its lack of aftermarket parts, not as common as 4 runner, tacoma, tundra or something else? What do you think?
Hello guys good job am your avib fan
thanks for showing this video,,,,,i am sure i wont go now,,, too wet,,,cold,,and nothing there,,,,,
5 sec rule on the goldfish...its mine!
Haha! No goldfish left behind!
Loving your videos! Are they 6 months behind real time or am I confused?
Best to camp with a portable electric bear fence. 2.4 lbs packed for huge peace of mind. Because you don’t want to feed the bears.
Already a big fan of your channel sir with only a few videos I've watched. I wonder what drone did you use?
It's the Mavic Pro. Thanks for watching!
Congratulations for the excellent video. Two questions: how many tents have you used during this time of overland?, (in the first chapters you appear with a smaller one than what you are using now). Did you change the suspension to the 4 Runner before starting your journey?
We had a demo 23ZeroUSA Byron tent for a few weeks while we were waiting on our Sydney to arrive. It has 160+ nights in it now.
@@LifestyleOverland I was thinking of another brand, but seeing the use that you have given to the one you currently have, I am going to decide to buy it.
I hope you have it to install during the next Overland Expo West.
Thank you for the excellent reference you are giving us with the use of the products you are making.
Hey there, my family and I are planning on going to Coldfoot this summer. What kind of emergency communication equipment did you bring on your trip up north? I hear cell coverage is pretty limited.
Question? What was the availability of 91 Octane and above fuel at the gas stations you visited?
To the best of my memory, it seemed like it was available on the main arteries, like the Al-can highway but dropped off the further to the north you travel. Again, that's just my recollection and I could be wrong.
nice ,,,,my brothers i from COSTA RICA
So we also have a buddy heater for our Tepui Autana but have only lot it up in the annex. How do you guys set yours up in the main tent. So far we've only used a single mantle lantern to just take the chill off.
We set it on a cutting board and only run it while awake.
Lifestyle Overland thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work.

Hello there, I enjoyed your videos of traveling thru Alaska. Can you tell me what type of cell phone holder you have in the vehicle. Thanks
You sure your middle names are not "Rain"? Man was the summer of 2018 wet up north. We were up in the summer of 2016, and it was drier than normal. I'm hoping this years trip up will be drier. At least with this video (Haul Road), I will not be pulling my RV travel trailer past the Arctic Circle. #1 I only have a 225 mile fuel range on my Tundra, #2 if it's wet, pulling a 8,000 lb. RV in the muck, is not a smart move.
Yes, it was wet and warm late august through sept up here. Put a real hamper on the moose season. 2016 was a gorgious summer, glad you got to enjoy it! And yes, the truckers up there will happily approve your decision to not tot your RV up there, Ive been past by truckers towing full loads going 70+mph on that road with a foot of standing mud, I shit you not! Come back up and enjoy the prettiest state in the union!
opting to not fill your gas tank at a gas stop; using your reserve gas; hoping the next stop has fuel seems a bit backwards to me...
Not when you have 22 gallons on board... We could have made it to Deadhorse if we wanted with the remaining 18. Our buffer was more than sufficient.
God Knows Y Folk Give this the Thumbs Down U guys Do UrBest to Give us a great Video
Had a question. Do you guys have customers seats in the 4runner??
Do we have custom seats? No, these are stock cloth seats.
You guys travel so much I was pretty sure you did. Guess I was wrong. Thanks for the response. Keep exploring we love your blog vlog
funny thing about potholes they don't jump out of the way, all part of defensive driving watching the road,
Run on up to the Dalton and let us know how easy it is to dodge those potholes ;) Sometimes there's more potholes than pavement...
:D
Thank you for the great video's. Really appreciate you sharing !!!
なんでトヨタは日本で4ランナーを売らないんだ
Good luck to your family
no need for music
Please don't play relaxing music and finish with a screaming kid, Thanks.
But it's SNOW!!
Don’t watch then!,,
Cheers to living your dream! Thank you for all the work you put into your phenomenal videos and one of the best channels on UA-cam.
We really appreciate that! And thanks for riding along with us!
So much overlanding material is saturated with equipment details, but you have found a much healthier balance. It's nice to know your setup, but once established the only thing remaining is story, and you have found a way to tell yours. Nicely done.
Perfect line: "It's Only Overkill Till It Isn't". Words to live by, Brother! Nice bear video.
Thanks, Chuck!
This year will also prepare me for my trip... Tibet through Russia, the Middle East into Europe from China 😁 😁
It's amazing how beautiful the north country can be.
The editing and music selection are so great! You guys have really mastered your craft! Love the videos!
Worst part about this, is having to wait until the next episode. Wish it was like Netflix, where I could binge watch the entire season, because Lord knows i'd binge watch the heck out of your adventures. I'm doing this same trip myself (and my 2 daughters) starting late May, after they get out of school. We won't be having a trailer though, ground tent, and everything in, or on the truck. Gonna be a hell of an adventure! Keep these videos comin', can't wait 'til the next installment.
Hope your adventure goes great . Make sure you bring bear spray , insect repellent , pop up screen house , mosquito netting , fire arm for protection from wild life . Have a safe trip & enjoy the journey . Cheers !
Impressive video. Nice car too.
BTW would you believe if I tell you Coldfoot is one of the most famous Alaskan town in Japan?
Bringing back memories of the Arctic Circle “rest area”, wife and I were there in 2007. Kind of cracked us up how it was presented like that.
You think those potholes are bad, you should visit the northeastern US during Spring ! Some potholes you will bottom out your 4runner !
Absolutely brilliant. Enjoyed every second. Thank you 👍
Great job as always.
Thanks, Roy!
I see a time or two you needed to hose the mud, I just bought a small 4 stroke honda gas water pump for my travels I can not only hose down my travel trailer and truck but with the right stream I can fill the trailer it uses a garden hose. Anyway enjoy
Very true! You'll like the next episode...
Nice family Nice shooting everything is perfect
Awesome to check off a bucket list item - family portrait at the Arctic Circle. So rad!
Really enjoyed this on, especially your daughters running around, great job, and as always, safe travels
overkill on things is sometime good, you got a wife and child to think about, so overkill on gas and anything like is good
My wife is going to make me stop watching you guys. Every time I watch, I see some gadget I gotta have. It's making us go broke....anyone else like that? lol
Haha! Gear is fun but not all of it is necessary. Just get out there! 😉
