Hi Matt. I found you a year or so back via Diamond & Leah at ORP.
I LOVE your book!!!! I have 2 very small (roughly 9x14'), no till, permaculture beds. I have space for 1, very small compost pile and was struggling with where to add my new material, never completing the composting process as new material is added weekly (grass clippings, dog poo, crop rotation material, coffee and tea grounds and the like). I was used to a big, 3 bin system, for the 13 years I had 2 acres.
With your advise and system I am actually producing compost in a much smaller scale using your methods. That seemed beyond my reach just 2 months ago.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!

Love how you take that long drive through ‘WHY’ context is so important before you unwrap the ‘HOW’ to compost for your context/goals!!!! Executed beautifully! 💯

All of this is so amazing, and yet seems so hard to actually get into my thinking....I find myself sucked into the "best or bust" or rule following. Thank you so much!

Is there any chance that as soil sciences develop and become more complex and robust that cover crop genetics might grow to where we could unlock some plants that will really help take things to the next level beyond even what you've worked on so far? My eyes are always on the new frontier as I continue to learn about this, excited to see what the highest level of nutrition for the body we can unlock is

Matt - thanks so much for the video. I stumbled upon your channel researching Elaine's soil food web information. I love your energy and positive outlook, keep up the good work.
I'm possibly facing a career path change and considering taking Elaine's consulting soil food web courses as a source of income, I'll be located in Texas.
Between your channel and Elaine's information you've provided to me a wealth of information that is truly captivating, and inspiring. Again, thank you so much for the content.

You had me at context! Guess I’m a cheap date! ☺️ The context concept can (and should) be a part of our decision making process in all areas of our life. IMHO. Let’s get rid of the notion that one solution can or should fit all circumstances. Sometimes good enough is good enough.Thank you. This is bringing out the geek in me. Will be checking out permaculture 2 and regen soil.

Awesome information as always Matt! Now we need to figure out how to apply this information to our market garden and composts. We continue to struggle with our soil life and conditions. Would love to have you out to our farm to talk soil and shoot some video for our channel. Still working through the class videos and looking forward to the live class this fall. Cheers! Thanks for the breakdown of different compost techniques along with the pros and cons. A couple of quick questions; Is there a "best" time (day/season/growing period) to add compost extract/tea to your soil and should the soil be pre-wet?

Matt, thank you for this video. At 39:30 you state vermicompost leans bacterial because of the vegetable greens, kitchen scraps they are fed. The technique I learned was to also add plenty of brown paper, brown cardboard, leaves, etc. If this is done in 20:30 ratio, will this promote a balanced fungal to bacterial ratio?
