I love making compost when I made my Johnson su bioreactor it had been sitting for 3 months just to see what would happen I sprinkled A mixture of Basalt, Wollastonite, Volcanophos, Oyster, & Soft Rock Phosphate- ontop and came back two days after and it was so beautiful wherever I sprinkled the rock dust born there was a huge white mass of mycelium pigging out on the dust
Can you please share where you obtained those ammendments... thanks!! I have a few mini versions of The Johnson-Su reactors in the works currently! I really need a microscope... I am so curious as to what microbes are working within!!
I’d love to see what’s going on In my bioreactor it’s definitely fungal dominant the bottom 6 inches was wood chips and the biochar followed by rock dust weeds and grass I tried to look for grass that was vigorous and dark green same with weeds after the greens I’d switch to soaked leaves or wood chips and Then I added chicken manure I added rock dust biochar with every carbon layer been sitting for 10 months the worms are currently working it though I’ll let it sit for another year before I use it any questions feel free to ask
What a great video!! So helpful to be along side and learn. Making the world a better place. We will be looking for the updates to these projects! Thank you and wishing your family well.
Love your videos Matt with that maniacal laugh you could easily get the villain part in a James Bond movie. I'm saving up for the course cos i is broke lol
Hi Matt, I hope you and your family are enjoying your move from California. And with the price of gas in CA 😱 you are saving enough to pay for the alfalfa and additives 👩🌾👍 Best wishes 👩🌾👍🌿💚🌿
I'm lucky enough to live close to a mushroom farm which gives away its used mushroom substrate. I'm currently collecting materials to make a pile like this to break it down ASAP. Still looking for a good source of rock dust, all I can find are "granite / gold fines" for pathways which I suppose I could get and just filter the larger gravel pieces out. What do you think of using a lot of smaller branches at the bottom of the compost pile to improve the airflow? Looking forward to seeing you transform this site!
How did you secure your cage so it stays closed? Also, will you be showing how you turn the pile? Do you separate the top and sides to ensure it goes into the center next turn?
with it all in the rain, in the aquifers, in the rivers, in the air... I'd just rather demonstrate something everyone can do and then make sure I have the specific microbes to take apart the pesticides in the composting process. It really can be all digested. It's really just about matching things appropriately (I think you'd like my books and courses ;) )

What were your ingredients for your bioreactor?

What do you and Dr. Ingham think about Lumi 'compost' machine? Is the compost any good? Is it just a waste producer bc of the plastic

It'll be a bit more fungal and those sticks will be longer lasting than other ingredients is all :) :) :)
Matt - Odysee version doesn't give option for lower resolution video so file is very big.

We just crimped it into itself
Always Outside In, Inside Out :) :) :)
@@MattPowersSoil Thanks :)
Did you seek out un-sprayed hay? I’m nervous about buying hay at the local feed store because they can’t tell me if it’s sprayed or not.
