Thank you very much 😁 Glad you liked the Axe vs Ampero video. It's hard to describe a sound but the Ampero 2 sounds more modern in the way that it's cleaner, with less artefacts than the Ampero original. In that sense, it's closer to the Axe FX than the previous one. However, in order to make it to really compete with it, you still need custom IRs. The main issue with the Ampero 2 (as with many small and affordable modelers) is power management.
@@AntoineMikhtarian agreed I have sinmix irs loaded in mine. At 1024 resolution you can get away with almost any "normal" fx chain. At 2048 you hace to sacrifice the reverb
Hello hello 😁 Thanks for your comment! You can use the Ampero switch and the soul press in Expression mode if you use the Ampero Control as your hub. Unfortunately, there's only one Expression/Footswitch Input on the Ampero 2 Stomp so it will either one or the other (or both with the Ampero Control 😉). Hope it helps 💚🤘
Is it possible to use ampero switch with control as midi and use press separately as fs/exp? If it's possible then I will definitely buy all the accessories coz I already got stomp ii. Just asking you because you got all of them.
Thank you 😁 The Control and the Switch are very useful indeed with this unit. That way you get the Ampero 2 Stomp's full potential. Glad you liked the video 💚🙏
The sound cut when switching between patches is 15ms When doing the "scenes" set up (from the video) with the Ampero Control there's no cuts in the sound whatsoever. However, you sometimes hear little glitches (specially when going from Clean to Dirty). It's not perfect but it's an option 👍
Brillant démo. What did u think of the reverb and delays quality on this unit ? That's the only thing I m a bit doubtful. Rest of the functionalities and sound are awesome.
Thank you very much 😁 I tried all the delays and stuck with the one I liked the most: Ekopress 999. The reverbs are indeed a weak spot, specially if you're looking for the ambient Big Sky-like reverbs. I've gone with the small plate on my custom preset. If Reverb is very important to you, I'd suggest having a dedicated pedal for it and use the FX loop 👍 Thanks for your question 🙏 I hope that helps 💚🤘
@@AntoineMikhtarian i m trying to choose between headrush mx5 and this. I guess amp sound better on amepro but delay and reverb better on the MX5... There s allays a trade off🙄
I recently bought Hotone Ampero II and Ampero Press (expression pedal).Unfortunately, I have problems with Ampero Press. When I connect it to multifx, the gradient of the pedal goes from 0 to 100 immediately. Just by pressing a little bit, so I can´t get intermediate levels. I did the calibration, and test all configurations (linear, exp and log), but I didn't get any changes. Thanks for your help.
I don't think so. But you can copy which ever preset you like to consecutive banks. For instance, you could copy P00-2 to P31-1, P01-3 to P31-2 and so on 👍
Hi. I'm trying to control with Meloaudio MIDI Commander, but this unit don't let me to assign 3 patches per bank... What a pity! Ampero 2...every day I like it more
I've never used that Midi controller but if you're following the Midi chart of the Ampero 2 it should work with every controller. Anyway, good luck with that 😁 Glad to hear you enjoy your Ampero 2 💚🤘
Hi! I’m trying to connect my soul press 2 to my ampero stomp 2 but unfortunately i can’t calibrate it and when using it as volume only maximum volume is 30 only it wont go max. Is there any way to fix this?
It's a calibration problem (most probably), Try to recalibrate it and if it still doesn't work. Contact support@hotoneaudio.com 👍 They'll know what to do 😉 Good luck!
Awesome review, I'm debating between this and the Line 6 products (Stomp XL, Go). In terms of live usage and switching between presets which is what I'll mainly use this for, what do you think about its ease of usage?
Thank you 😁💚 With the 2 Line 6 modellers you get more footswitches. If you change presets within a song and need more than 3 presets than it's either you go for one of the XL and the Go or you use the Ampero 2 Stomp with the Ampero Control (midi footswich). Also you need to know how important portability is for you. The fair comparison between products would be the Helix Stomp vs the Ampero 2 Stomp.
Does hit handle pedals well? I have an Iridium for the amps and pedals for fuzz, distortion, OD and modulation/time stuff and would like to just swap out the Iridium for this and keep the rest of the setup as is.
Hi Curtis, thanks for your question 😁 I don't use the Ampero with any additional pedals. I don't own any other pedals actually so I can't really try to mimic your setup. However, I know a guy who has many pedals and an Ampero 2 Stomp 👍 His name is Demetrio "Dimitry" Scopelliti. He's a good friend of mine so I'm sure he'll be happy to help you out 😉 Good luck!
Heey, nice review, how about the pitch shift/harmonizer? I have an Ampero One but the effect mentioned is kinda useless, does the Stomp 2 has intelligent harmonizer?
Hi 😁 Thank you very much 🙏 The Ampero 2 has a great Whammy emulation that tracks well and sounds good (great to do the Gojira riffing and so on). The Harmonizer does color the sound in a somewhat weird way but it tracks your playing really well. So it would be great for you to try it out to see if you dig the sound or not. I don't use Harmonizers so I can't tell you if it's a good one or not. Only that it sounds better if you put it last in the chain 😁👍 Hope it helps
If you are happy with the Mp 100 why would you want to change? However, If you're not satisfied and the new features of the Ampero 2 Stomp are what you're looking for then go ahead and update 😁 It's as simple as that 😉💚🤘
Very nice video, thanks! Can I ask a question: I love fooling around with pedals (dirt, mods, delays etc.) Not so very interesten in amps. Should I go for Ampero Stomp or Boss gt1000core? Or…?
Hello hello! Thanks for your question 😁 I wouldn't recommend grabbing the Ampero 2 just for FX. Its' main strength lies in the Amp sims. In your situation I'd go for a Multi FX unit that doesn't do Amp sims (like the Helix FX). That way you'll get exactly what you need and therefore more bank for your buck 😉 Hope it helps!
Hotone and a few hotone artists did some patches for the original Ampero and shared them on Hotone's website. I guess the same thing will happen with this one 😁 Also there's the Hotone Ampero Users Group on Facebook 👍
I was expecting you to test whammy, wah, modulation depth and delay mix with the expression pedal, as apparently you are the only one who used it so far on the vids. Then you used it as a volume pedal 🤣🤣🤣. Nice video though!
Yes sorry about that 😅 I've done a separate demo of the Ampero Press where I use it as a Whammy, Wah and volume pedal: ua-cam.com/video/ZJeBmnKySwE/v-deo.html You can check the song at about 7:54 to hear all that 😉👍
Im terms of sound quality only...would you rate this better than the helix? High gain metal speaking. This is the NEW thing out currently so I’m tempted to buy it. I’m just looking for the best sound at a good price :) thanks man
Hi Jeremy 😁 Thanks for your question 🙏 For High Gain specially I prefer the Ampero. Even using the same IR (which makes 80% of the sound) I find the Ampero warmer than the Helix. That being said, I know of people who absolutely love the Helix. It just didn't work for me 👍 I'd go for the Ampero and Choptones IRs 😉💚 Hope it helps!
Lovely piece of gear! I'm quite surprised how the software interface is pretty much identical to the Helix! However it's sounds very convincing...I'll probably try one!!
Thanks brother 😁 Yes, it's great to see them implementing a more up-to-date interface. It's very intuitive now. It would be interesting for you to try it because Hotone have a pretty unique approach to modelling amps 👍

Yes 15ms. That's why I've made the "scenes set up" with the Ampero Control.
That “The final setup” song is kinda sick. LOL
