- IAS officer from Kashmir, Shah Faesal, topped the civil services exam in 2010 to become a role model for many in the country. He briefly dabbled in politics and started a political party. Like many mainstream leaders in Kashmir he was detained after the abrogation of Article 370. He later renounced politics and returned his duties as an IAS officer. Presently posted in Delhi he talks about his life and experiences.

In majority of the cases IAS officers always boast their power which is wrong. But this person is very humble. Ideally this should be characteristic of every administrative officer.
This guy is my absolute hero!yea he was boasted a bit because he was a topper from Kashmir..but there is no question about his intelligent and hardworking,above all a great human being who wanted to change the world for good but yeah probably fell short like every great leader or administrator on other part of earth. Good interview, but one advise for a moderator is to not to interrupt the flow of thoughts of an interviewee. I know Mam your intent was to make it interactive, however, at few instance I felt Mr Shah wanted to elaborate bit more on the questions asked ,but you interrupted and changed the direction. No fault of your’s, but let your guests say things the way they want and do not put words/phrases in their mouth , it diverts a natural flow. All the best to both of you.
After resigning nobody can be reinstated in any govt. job, but this man has been given this privilege, merely because he is a privileged Momin. And still Muslims are in danger in India.
He was reinstated because of his capability. Please do not forget also, that his state was not exactly going through easy times, when he tendered his resignation.

We all are living in a challenging environment. We all are hit by terrorism.
Gaandu his resignation was not accepted by home ministry.
The government jobs are sort of permanent in nature. It is a long procedure which takes years if one really wants to be out of the system. It's actually easier to retire than to resign.
If being the son of govt school teachers and one of whom was shot dead by terrorists is called previliged, then I think your brain needs examination.

once u become an IAS u will still have to deal with a lot of "not so intelligent politicians and even government workers" My dad says. when u go on a road you are not safe just because u know driving. u should be worried about people who rash drive and hit you for no fault of urs

Personal aspirations in public office is something not acceptable especially wrt to place like kashmir. This person has eroded further real will, actual will , general will, whatever will is there on earth, of Kashmiri ppl wrt to indian state. Now his keyboard & verbal diarrhoea add more fuel. I am not being emotional or irrational, this is what it is, ( i am student of political studies and from Srinagar ).
