He can also use it in the future. Beech is edible when used properly and can be pressed for oil. By moving it to the sun and rain he insures a future resource, plus, saves a tree.

These are designed to be satisfying, and it sure works for me. Sure, they're educational, but they're relaxing, satisfying. Every board fits, no nails bend, all logs are straight, all is cozy and warm. Their videos give an hour's escape away from frustration. Some people watch pimple popping, some watch chiropractors, I get relief from these guys. Absolutely love them.
And these videos are very time consuming, labor intensive just to film.

I think about grass roof shelters quite often. It is such ancient technology that could be so beneficial. Some places can't have grass yards, but a grass roof could be very nice in the cities.

Yes that would be amazing. I once lived in a building that had a walled in flat roof top garden with grass, posted plants, shrubs and even some big potted trees. It was for us residents to use. Had some garden tables, umbrellas and chairs too.
      Build in Barbecue etc.
This was in the middle of a big city. Was really great.

In both types of houses shown here, they would put small bundles of straw on the floor to keep it warm and to keep them off of the ground. They show it in the documentary series Secrets of the Castle. Historian Ruth Goodman had an idea about how they would lay it out around the fire, and how the smoke from the fire indoors would kill bugs in the roof.

Watching this one for a second time because it’s HOT here in Phoenix (it’s monsoon season here so it’s 100*f and 60+% humidity) and visions of rainy deciduous forests help cool me off :-). It's show in another video, but basically drill some holes in a log, evenly space, stick the uprights in it, and weave the slats through them. It's called a wattle, as in wattle and daub, the daube being the mud mixture stuck to it. It's an ancient way of making walls.

I love the ecological responsibility of moving that beech tree. One day, you'll be able to sit under its' shade!

Thank you TA Outdoors, Another epic film!
I hope you keep the great filming up, I love how you film practically everything going on in the time you are out in the Woods... It is a great appetizer to see Bon Fire Foodmaking before having to cook ourselves here in our homes around Europa!
