Whomever programs this stuff is great and actually knows movie music. I dunno if The Mummy is really a deep cut, but it's an unconventional choice of track (rather than just Sand Volcano/End Credits etc) and Jerry does not get played enough.
When you hear a John Williams score, you can almost always tell it's a John Williams score. When you hear a Hans Zimmer score, you can almost always tell it's a Hans Zimmer score. When you hear a James Horner score, you can almost always tell it's a James Horner score. When you hear a Danny Elfman score, you can almost always tell it's a Danny Elfman score. When you hear a Jerry Goldsmith score, you can rarely tell it's a Jerry Goldsmith score. The man was a musical chameleon.
The Mummy is a pretty entertaining movie, with Brendan Fraser and Arnold Vosloo in great form; even so, the movie barely deserves the incredible soundtrack that Jerry Goldsmith wrote for it. Even though he was well known in the industry and among film and music fans, I sometimes think he was overshadowed unfairly by celebrity composers such as John Williams. I don't believe in ranking artists, but Goldsmith is definitely among the greatest film composers of all time, may he rest in peace.
Forgot to mention, this was a great rendition of the piece. It felt a little slow in the early parts, but came in nice and powerful towards the end. Bookmarked. 👍
Interestingly enough, Egyptian music doesn't generally follow the scale style that's utilized in almost all of the western interpretations of Egyptian music including this score. As beautiful as the score is it's so Western it hurts.

Celebrated film composer Jerry Goldsmith (RIP) captured the spirit of Ancient Egypt perfectly with this film score for The Mummy (1999).
Mummy has a very epic soundtrack, from the hands of the almighty Jerry Goldsmith.

Kinda disagree. Jerry has a very distinct style a lot of the time, though he would branch out from time to time.
I can tell when Jerry does the music because it's level of amazing is incomparable
Odd time signatures can be a giveaway at times, but I agree.
