Use any soap you want, even a designated bar soap, dawn like another commenter said, and have a small cup , fill it with water as needed and dip in and out bouncing the bristles off the bottom to make a suction to pull dirt out of the bristles, re-soaping and refilling the cup as needed until it runs clear and your brush is clean. I have a silicone version of this that works perfectly but you can use an old glass yogurt cup or any plastic cup.

Hey syd! I absolutely love and adore you and am so proud of the life you have created! But one thing I’d like to say is sometimes it feels like your videos are so heavily focused on overconsumption and heavily buying materialistic items. Sometimes it leaves me feeling I need to buy things to be happy. Just a lil thought. I love your vlogs that aren’t so focused on overconsumption.

I try to show a little of everything - travel, food, things I’m loving lately. I don’t do many clothes shopping hauls in vlogs and try to do those separate but I am sorry it feels like that. Definitely feel free to skip through any hauls 🤭🤍

When I have the money to splurge on things I don’t necessarily need, but only want, I buy tons of stuff too! Buying and trying new products is just something that sparks a lot of joy for some people, and that’s okay! As long as you’re being responsible with your spending and not putting yourself in a negative financial situation because of it, shopping a lot is fine.
If being more mindful about your purchases and living a more minimal lifestyle sparks joy for you, that’s okay too!
Everyone is different and gets joy from different places. I have lots of other things in life that bring me joy, that aren’t materialistic. And I’m sure Sydney does too!
That being said, I think it’s totally fair to take breaks from certain influencers or just social media in general. I’ve had times when I recognize I’m buying way too much stuff, that I don’t need to be buying, because of the content I’m consuming. So I take a little break! I think it’s important to be mindful of where those feelings are coming from.
All this to say, it’s totally relatable to feel bombarded with consumerism on social media, but I think it’s important to remember that influencers job is to show their life, and part of her life is enjoying buying things. Not everyone’s content is going to be tailor made for you and I don’t think it’s fair to expect that.
I think it’s good to take breaks from certain influencers, or just certain videos with content that is having a negative effect on you. 😊

I agree with maya, and it’s not just the hauls unfortunately :( overconsumption has been riddled throughout so much of Sydney’s content lately. It didn’t use to be like that

For cleaning makeup brushes, I like to soak mine in warm water with shampoo. After that I rinse them with conditioner and more warm water. It makes the brushes feel so clean and soft.

Hi Sydney!! For cleaning makeup brushes- I do it after every use (RIP) but use cerave hydrating cleanser (the green one that is acne safe) and wash with that under water until all the color comes out. I find doing it more frequently makes it easier to clean! I only wear makeup about 1x a week so I do it every Sunday and only takes about 5 mins👏🏼 has helped a ton with my skin and longevity of brushes🥰

for makeup brushes make a mixture with dawn dishsoap and a little olive oil....wash in warm water and allow to air dry over night. works so well for a deep clean. It cosmetics brush cleaner is good for in between deep cleans.

  • @molliehewitt6533

Honestly, I felt the same way about my makeup brushes. I tried multiple different “brush cleaning” products however, I learned that a little bit of dawn dish soap works the BEST! If you have one of the silicon mats with the bristles just places a little dot of dawn dish soap (the regular blue kind) use warm water and it cleans like magic. Never leaves a weird film on my brushes, and doesn’t leave them smelling weird. Some products I was not a fan of how fragrant they were. I don’t like to use those on my skin. Also, dry your brushes downward. The bristles of your brushes are down, and the handles pointing up. Allows for the water to drain out properly with out the possibility of moisture or mildew getting inside your brushes, and illuminates the water from getting down inside the handles that can cause the glue to separate. Hope this helps!❤

I’m not good about washing my makeup brushes, but when I do wash them with either baby shampoo or blue Dawn dish soap, they come out perfectly clean. Not sure why yours still feel dirty. I have one of those makeup cleaning mats that I aggressively rub it against. I’ve had my brushes for years and they’re still in perfect condition.

GIRL you gotta wash your brushes with soap and water 😂 I use regular ass bar soap but you could also use bar soap that’s specifically for the face if you’re more picky, I’m sure they also make bar soap specifically for makeup brushes, I believe Beauty Blender makes one. But definitely solid bar soap will change the game for you! It’s also the best to use on sponges 👍🏼

Of course! I feel like it has to be hard from your perspective sometimes getting stares from people who know you but are nervous to say hi, or they walk up when you're not expecting, and then you feel pressure to always be exactly who you are online even if you're caught in a bad moment (and i think a lot of people probably expect it because when you look up to someone you forget theyre literally just a person too!) so i cant imagine if i was in your shoes having an off day or something and someone approaches me and then i feel awkward and it just making it worse! the people who follow you love you though because you bring so much positivity to our lives & i know i at least would never expect you to not be human meeting you lol!
