@PushingGears Since when is working on a corvette wasting your life? 16 years ago I bought a 68 charger and worked on it literally every weekend for 2 years. I missed every event to get the car done. My goal was to get it done so I could give my dad a ride in it before he died
Thanks for the honesty and determination to get it Done. Fantastic build. I feel your pain in the money Dept. I have to work a 2nd job to pay for my addiction. Better than drugs though.

Good job on the rebuild. You paid $25K for the car + $8300 for a new engine that you know is done right. Doesn’t seem unreasonable. Friend of mine has a saying, ‘It’s only money, we’ll make more.’

I feel your pain Bud. For the $25k you spent for the car, the dealer should have known (& actually probly did) the engine had problems. For one, they could easily have found the metal in the oil. Another, they could have checked the valve lash and that would have revealed there was a lifter/pushrod issue. Finally, a compression test would have shown any variances with rings/valve seals. However, what's done is done and you can tell that dealer to f-off and you'll never give them another dime of your hard-earned money! The rebuild you did was just awesome so now you have the peace of mind knowing what you drive now is damn straight reliable. Bro, everyone lies about this being the "perfect car", the "perfect engine"! I got oied to as well and am still bitter. You are right, that is how much one would spend on a Camaro SS engine or a Silverado with the 6.0 L to rebuild it, and yes they do break. Even if you don't do anything crazy to the engine, no supercharger, no sport camshaft, no nothing they just break for no reason, even if you baby the car and do maintenance on schedule. Thats what happened to my 2011 Camaro SS. I loved that stupid car, meanwhile my wife's Roush is 17 years old 150,000 miles.
I am estimating to spend about $20,000.00 on having someone pull out, rebuilding the motor and installing the motor on my 1990 vette. 10,000.00 will just be paying someone to pull engine and transmission, then reinstalling engine and transmission. Wanna come down to Maui and rebuild my Vette? Lol!

@@FredFlintstone21 I got an 06 Z51 6MT for 20k. Been looking for one since covid and they've all been around 30k until recently where prices are finally coming down a bit.
@@Motorsportsgeek it's interesting what prices are out there, what people think their car is worth can be right in there on price, and others are much higher. We bought a '13 gs and love it! Previous owner smoked in it, since we don't smoke, I worked on it pretty hard getting it super clean and fresh. Then there were a couple cigarette burns in the carpet. I fixed them as well. Then a squirrel raised hell under the hood, storing away all least 60 nuts all over the place. Today I filled in a couple very small paint nics with touch up paint I got off Amazon. I found it interesting it takes 10.5 quarts of oil, and when I did a brake fluid flush, each caliper has 6 pistons and 2 bleeders! Car is awesome to drive but I need to be careful or I'm going to get a ticket! Quite a bit of power on tap!

Buy once cry once. Guy I worked with dumped 6k on his full LS9 build for his WS6 only to have his new OE lifters fail.
R.I.P. to his wallet
Lol!
Que onda bro!? Great video
Muchas gracias!
It popped up in my UA-cam feed
Thats what we like to hear!
i am keeping my stock. 400 hp is good enough for me.
Stop crying bro you're in a good spot I'm shopping for a grand sport and I can't find anything . The only grand sport I found under 30000 was a 2010 with 95000 miles and its an automatic.you have a 2010 grand sport with a brand new engine add in performance. Enjoy
Thats what i spend in my 2000 honda civic si to get 420whp and thebhonda s2000 seats
I know im just stingy and broke, its actually not that bad lol
Small price to pay for salvation
Love the videos but damn bro for that much money you could have bought a built stroker short block.
Oh boy, if they are pissed just tell them it’s less than their camry.
I got to ask. The kidney deal was joke right. ??
👀
welcome to the jungle
At that point just get a crate motor from jegs
Negative, for an aluminium LS3 block of this gen, it was at least 13k without shipping
@@PushingGears good information thank you for the response
Thats a bargain, ever grand sport around here is 50k+
Where is "around here"?
@@FredFlintstone21 Canada
@@Motorsportsgeek Acknowledged, did you buy it?
Quite a bit of power on tap!
bro funny asll
shit what about if you can't do all the labor....you might as well get another corvette.. yours look good good thing you could you could do all the fucken work wow...i almost stop watching the video...lol
how much was the car... when you purchased it....really ok made it to the end shit 33k it's worth it but the time and labor,,,nope i gave you a fucken thumbs up just for the pain.
Thanks for watching!
Being that it sounds like it runs like crap, diesels when you turn it off, ahh yeah. Could care less!
Just so you don't feel to bad bro I spend 15k on a 05 c6 corvette and so far I have spend around 22k on mods and labor🥲
