- Probably one of the most stirring invective against a culture that maybe going morally numb, one newspaper edition at a time. Kalki Koechlin performs a self written poem titled 'The Printing Machine': a rhythmic and scathing satire against daily broadsheets, magazines, social media and textbooks.
This powerful piece with its rising crescendo reveals the hollow and robotic production and consumption of news by a generation blinded by its vulgar hunger for juicy headlines. With women's empowerment at the core, she alludes to events that shook the nation, and also to those that were equally gruesome but got replaced by beauty advertisements and our apathy.

How multifunctional women are born to stories of near hear and seriousness evaporates as soon as it's created, how something is printed, daka daka dak, only after, a soul is lost, a pain is endured, a voice is muted. I have chills, just watching this video. I applaud Kalki for her creativity, and her work across platforms, as she tries to bring further awareness to women's rights issues. I support her part in this movement, and aim to be a bigger part of it.

I want to type something but words are not enough to describe how wonderful the video is! I'm cent percent sure that this video is only disliked by Criminals, Politicians, Media and the people who don't have a 'BRAIN'.

That #MyChoice video promotes woman domination, and not women empowerment. Please listen to Deepika carefully what exactly she says in that video and you will know!
According to the video, it's her choice to have sex outside the marriage. But will she accept if the husband does the same? Lines like "Even his pleasure can be your pain"; I believe in Gender equality, domination and submission is not a relationship one should promote.
If a man did the same thing, walked around naked saying it's his choice, what would these pseudo feminists say then?

Ashish Agarwal how can you talk about equality when the level of women is touching the ground and that of men is soaring higher and higher!! i support equality as well, but comparison is done between two almost equal opponents, or between similarly worthy opponents, and here, the difference itself is touching the sky. Kalki's video and Deepika's video equally promote women empowerment. let women come to a certain level first, which they unabashedly deserve and then talk about equality between the sexes. let the woman rise to the level which she was worthy of since ages, and only then compare the sexes.

I thought it would be a simple recital of her poem, and instead I was pleasantly surprised with an amazingly beautiful and well thought-out art film masterpiece on the issues of mass-media propagation! Thank you so much for this Blush and Kalki, it was absolutely inspiring! I didn't even realize I was holding my breath until the last word, and I'm speechless. I've seen this 3 times already and the goosebumps haven't stopped yet. Wow.

this is absolutely beautiful and touches a chord. Listened to it more than a number of times. Kalki is not only a sensitive actor but also a true artist. Her support to bring awareness and take the stigma away from issues plaguing our social structure is admirable and inspiring.

I was intimidated and forced to click on that subscribe button. I was half way to the video and I was sobbing and crying. The goosebumps couldn't let me sleep. Whenever Kalki performs she just do this to me... This one is truly intriguing... The printing Machine will keep going on and on and on.....
Every time i see it, i just feel it, this is not just for men but this is the mentality and understanding level of many scenarios within society, everybody should watch this, at least 5 times.

this is to everybody here who thinks that feminists do not care about rapes of men and laws that are twisted to be used against men in certain cases. you are wrong. we care. we want laws that acknowledge the fact that men can be raped, that men can be molested, by both men and women. we care about the fact that the sexual harassment law in our country always views men as perpetrators and women as victims, and never acknowledges the fact that men can be victims too, that women can be the perpetrators. it is downright unfair. And this is the result of patriarchy - men aren't supposed to be vulnerable, women are supposed to be weak..how is it possible that men can be raped...how can women possibly be the ones to perpetrate sexual assault? what does feminism fight? patriarchy. it fights every societal norm that tells people what is okay and what is not okay for men and women respectively. feminism is not for women alone. feminism exists to restructure a society where gender and sexuality are wielded as weapons in different ways to oppress people.
let us now define rape - sex without consent- is violence the only indicator of rape? no. many just take it because they know of no other alternative. women are raped by their husbands. but our law refuses to acknowledge the fact that marital rape actually exists. is it okay to force someone to have sex with you just because he/she has had sex with you before? will there always be violent reactions against it by the victim...sometimes there is resignation...either because the rapist is someone you know and you have loved or because sometimes you value your life more. rape cases may be "false" as per statistics because there were no signs of violent struggle. Moreover, for every false rape accusation there are thousands which go unreported. even when the victims approach the police, they refuse to register the case saying it was the victim's fault. even parents say things like it was your fault. every law can be misused. these have loopholes and should be implemented better in areas where many have never even heard of the law...however, it cannot be dismissed entirely. it is a question of proportion. and yes, false accusers must be punished but we need to create an environment that is safe for all genders before.

The poem really has a powerful message and the delivery is exceptional by Kalki..I really appreciate the reference in the poem about the lack of empathy in the way the newspapers, magazines and media project the crimes. I respect women and I am strongly against crimes thats happening to women..but nevertheless I feel this urge to say...I really hate the music and it killed my eardrum..XP

Once i was travelling in bus going in for diwali holidays. There was someone behind me pressing my thighs with their hands, literally literally.... i was soo scared when silently and stood near driver. I was not that strong sorry i was just 16yrs old studying 11th standard.

When I was 15, it was around 3 pm and I was going to my coaching institute, it was an empty road and some guy in a cycle grazed his hand on my hips as he passed by me, I froze for the moment, and ran back home.
