YUP!!!! That is a very rare thing to see, every time I go down to K. West I make it a point to check out this friendly creatures. They just make my day.
What? Did you see the channel's name? He picks and chooses which deer to kill. These are protected by law. Anyone who can have a moment like this and still kill deer is a psychopath.
The one animal I would like to interact with... is the ORCA. One day I will visit them in their natural habitat. It's on my bucket list :) I always look forward to the videos that you guys post. Your vids always put a smile on my face. Take care and god bless! Lots of love from Australia!
Pate’ those little Key Deer are so enjoyable to watch when we get a chance to go there, I love them. Thanks for sharing I think that one doe had her eye on you😂
This place reminds me of Anticosti Island in Quebec Canada. The deers have no predictors on the island and are small also. Nice video, so you do have a heart
How adorable, I want to see more about these deer, it looks like they live right in town. Can you do an updated video about them, pleeeeeaaaaasssssssseeeeeee.
I found out about these in Spider Robinson's book "Callahan's Key." (Short version, Callahan had a bar in Long Island. When he blows up the bar to stop an alien invasion, his guitar player, after some false starts, reopens in Key West. On the way there, there's a chapter about the Key Deer.
The biggest misperception is hunters don't appreciate our natural resourses. The truth we as sportsman and weman are the biggest supporters financially and put way more back for everyone not just outdoors people than we ever take out. My wife and had just got of the lake near our place and watched four mule deer feeding on the side of the road two where bucks and shere still in felt. Just made my whole day. I love those moments. Keep up the grest clips. Love em all!
Andrew Snyder, we are huge animal lovers!! I have raised a wild hog, wood duck, squirrel, rabbit, etc… and Rob has had his fair share in raising wildlife… We only harvest what we are able to eat and we manage our properties as needed in order for new wildlife to thrive as well. Management is very important no matter what you are hunting... or fishing for that matter. Just because we hunt doesn't mean we don't appreciate wildlife. A lot of people think we are cold-hearted, but any ethical hunter would understand that we do it to feed our family and it can be very emotionally tough in certain situations… This world was founded on hunting and we as a couple will continue to work hard for our food!! Thank you for the awesome comment, it is much appreciated!! God Bless. (Sarah)
Very few super small white tails here , but 1 morning going into thhe location, was the first truck in , i seen a hherd of them maybe 30 to 35 in the bunch , the biggest buck about a 10 point , he wasn't as big as a yearling doe , maybe 65 to 70 lbs hide hair and hooves
Honestly I didn't think or know that there were any deer in the Keys. I went sailing for a week around Key West back in 98 and had a great time. Of course no deer out in the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico where we sailed...not that I saw anyhow.
i just saw 4 of them last night on 54 or 52 with fawns right next to the highway at like 11-12 at night first time ive seen deer in florida weird timing lol.
I hate to tell you but most of us hunters take care of the land and our dogs like family!!! Because we kill to eat doesn’t mean we don’t respect and thank god for each one we are blessed to have gotten!! We let the young live!!! We kill the older ones with no fawns!!! Most hunters are good people!! It’s like most things!! The few ruin it for all the people who do things right!!!! I love all animals and have raised many wild animals with no parent animal!! And I put them back in nature!! A possum was the hardest one I had getting it back to the wild!!! He wanted to stay but nature did call and he finally did not come back!!! I was sad but more happy that he’s doing what he should being wild!!!! I hope people see this and see that just because you hunt doesn’t mean you don’t love animals!!!!!💯🔨✊🌎🎯❤️🍀💨💡👍🏻🙏⭐️❄️🎶🌊⚠️💩
Cool video, Robert. In the future, feel free to take as many iguanas as you can haul back to the mainland next time you're in the Keys (that goes for Key West chickens as well). Sorry, the Key deer are ours to keep. Love the videos. My best to you and Sarah.
That's awesome! We have interacted with wild, mostly tame unhunted whitetails before. As a hunter, I think some folks don't understand that a lot of us love, respect, and are intrigued by the animals we hunt. If I had one animal I would love to interact with it would be a Bigfoot. Lol!
Birgie33, lol!! ours would be a chupacabra… haha But you're totally spot on… hunting is such a complex sport and can be easily judged if you've never experienced it! (Sarah)
Why do so many wonderful creatures, the actual good ones always get butchered mercilessly? It's sad, car accidents or not. Hopefully these deer keep on living. Question though, you said no predators, but what about the crocs?
Dude I've lived in Miami all my life and traveled to and from key west and still never spotted a key deer. I know that they are endangered. Nice video bro!
Just curious I haven't eaten deer meat. I have had bear and other different kinds of meat. How would you describe the taste of deer meat. If you had to compare it to other types of meat.
Those deer are adorable. They might be protected but those deer in Missouri sure aren't and hunting season is fast approaching. With this deployment now complete, I'm just waiting on my flight back to the States.
Love to see you guys make a show on that coyote hunt you have to do before they lower your herd numbers to nothing.Want to see some nice long shots.I'll be waiting.
They actually do you have natural predators such as alligators and crocodiles in the keys and also Burmese python‘s which can grow up to astonishing lengths. But they are protected in such a matter because they are endangered.
fortunately there populations have recovered to some extent. I saw a shit load of them when I went to the keys but they estimate only 800 exist. idk about that but definitely very vulnerable animal kinda like a dodo
I'm sorry but DON'T FEED THEM. They remember that interaction with people and learn to keep seeking out people or people in cars, putting themselves in more danger to be run over in traffic. It's an easy rule.
4th. of July 2017, some idiots tried to Steal 3 Key Deer. Hog tied them, 2 does in the front and a buck in the trunk, which was hurt and in shock. They were stopped at mm 28 for a tail light out. The deer have been turned loose, but the 3 guys are up the creek, wonder how many laws they broke. Oh ya, by the way Big Pine Key is a national speed trap, at night the speed on U.S. 1 is 35 mph, cause of the deer, and they have all kinds of cops, all kinds! Just general info. I live on Big Pine and the deer population has really dropped these past two years due to the Zombie Fly (that's not the real name), it bites and passes a worm into the deer, which causes them to turn into Zombies, just stand and are blank. It bites dogs too.
Hi Rob an Sarah an the little ones it's ur number 1 fan Robert Ramkissoon I love ur videos u God bless you and your family l love u all like crazy please send me a fishing rod an like yours please please
how can they be that small when you have no winter at all, like us buckeye people. As far as coyotes go they will not stop eating when the fawns are gone. Might start eating calves. ;(
Why are doe protected? Deer arnt endangered. I mean I'm happy because I don't like seeing deer get shot but it doesn't make sense that deer are like breeding out of control in the birth and they are still protected.
YUP!!!! That is a very rare thing to see, every time I go down to K. West I make it a point to check out this friendly creatures. They just make my day.
It warms my heart to see hunters who respect and appreciate the beauty of nature. Need more like you in the world. 🙂
What? Did you see the channel's name? He picks and chooses which deer to kill. These are protected by law. Anyone who can have a moment like this and still kill deer is a psychopath.
I think almost all hunters respect and appreciate the beauty of nature.
Strange comment, as hunters on average are more in touch and respectful of nature than non hunters.
What an amazing peace of nature and we all have The Lord above us to thank
Brant2501, Amen!!!
The one animal I would like to interact with... is the ORCA. One day I will visit them in their natural habitat. It's on my bucket list :)
I always look forward to the videos that you guys post. Your vids always put a smile on my face.
Take care and god bless! Lots of love from Australia!
It is neat to watch young deer as they are so curious! I have had young whitetail come up to me just to see what/who I was!
Pate’ those little Key Deer are so enjoyable to watch when we get a chance to go there, I love them. Thanks for sharing I think that one doe had her eye on you😂
It’s great that you hunt but also appreciate and respect nature

This place reminds me of Anticosti Island in Quebec Canada. The deers have no predictors on the island and are small also.

Cool video, Robert. In the future, feel free to take as many iguanas as you can haul back to the mainland next time you're in the Keys (that goes for Key West chickens as well). Sorry, the Key deer are ours to keep. Love the videos. My best to you and Sarah.
Kelly Reilly, they are becoming a huge problem for a lot of people! Thank you very much!
i was on big pine key with my fam in 94 and we saw some.

That's awesome! We have interacted with wild, mostly tame unhunted whitetails before. As a hunter, I think some folks don't understand that a lot of us love, respect, and are intrigued by the animals we hunt. If I had one animal I would love to interact with it would be a Bigfoot. Lol!

They are here now.
Why do so many wonderful creatures, the actual good ones always get butchered mercilessly? It's sad, car accidents or not. Hopefully these deer keep on living. Question though, you said no predators, but what about the crocs?

oh ya, the bucks can actually grow really nice racks!
Just curious I haven't eaten deer meat. I have had bear and other different kinds of meat. How would you describe the taste of deer meat. If you had to compare it to other types of meat.
Mic Berisha, GOOD!! lol it has a lot of flavor and is very moist… the texture is comparable to elk meat but with a slightly different taste...
Dude I found Everglades in my nearest Walmart, I try it in pork stakes and chiken breast grill, delicious! Thanks for recomended.

Those deer are adorable. They might be protected but those deer in Missouri sure aren't and hunting season is fast approaching. With this deployment now complete, I'm just waiting on my flight back to the States.

Some wild deer are unfriendly or friendly weird?
I thought they were endangered?
Hate to hear about your coyote problem on the ranch. Be happy to bring my .22-250 and lend a hand sometime!
They actually do you have natural predators such as alligators and crocodiles in the keys and also Burmese python‘s which can grow up to astonishing lengths. But they are protected in such a matter because they are endangered.
Do you know if they sell Everglades in Texas?
Probably not, you can order from their website: www.evergladesseasoning.com
fortunately there populations have recovered to some extent. I saw a shit load of them when I went to the keys but they estimate only 800 exist. idk about that but definitely very vulnerable animal kinda like a dodo
