Hey guys! My new online guitar course ‘Blues For Beginners’ is out this Friday 6th May!! The course will be taking you through the fundamentals of blues guitar. Everything I wish I could have had when I was first starting, and everything you need to get a head start in the genre. If you’re a beginner guitar player looking to get into blues music, this will be the course for you.
In total there are 18 video lessons guiding you through the must know techniques used in blues, and by the end of the course you will be well on your way to becoming the blues player you have always wanted to be.

They don’t appreciate it unless they actually play guitar. I certainly didn’t understand till I started playing and got to the intermediate level. Then i realized the infinite chasm of talent between other musicians and SrV, imo opinion he is the GOAT

My bro played a '57 custom shop reissue through an old bassman and it sounded awesome!.. I left my brand new bass rig (a Billy Sheehan bass w 2 outs thru a peavey CS1100 w/a peavey Max tube /solid state & a 6 10"blk wdw) at his place , the next morning i believe that stratocaster could be heard two counties over. So much for work that day! Blues and beer all day wasn't a bad trade off.

I use a TS9 and MXR Micro Amp. No delay but I use the space designer reverb in Logic

Learn your blues scale inside and out all over the fretboard. Have a go at learning your favourite songs by ear

I realise you're a stratocaster kind of guy. I've never seen videos with you playing Gibsons or Ibanezs. Not saying this with any negativity it's just an observation.

Your tone is phenomenal. I'm shocked to find out you're not playing out of a tube amp. The way that the signal responds to how hard you dig in. Sounds like a Fender black face. How do you achieve that using a digital format?

sad to see so many players these days opt to copy other players' styles rather than forging their own sound. So many John Mayer/Stevie Ray copies out there now, its crazy. There's already an SRV. We don't need cheap copies.

I like when you get more away from SRV phrasing and do more of your own thing. Your great guitarist but staying to close or locked into Stevie's phrasing and tech. Be more of yourself. You have more than enough to be you. Keep Stevie inside but become yourself. Find you own voice that semper you from him.
