I know the spot. I go trail running up on the ridgelines surrounding that valley. Great spot. I also remember the Upper Neuadd Res being full. It was emptied in 2016 and work was done on it over two years.
Yes, it's a great area and a good camp spot, I enjoyed this camp. A few people have reminded when this was emptied now, I was way out on what year I thought it was. Thanks for watching! ATB, Ryan.
So nice to see a real wild camper on youtube making good decisions and showing consideration for the area. Too many tubers going up mountains in stormy or freezing conditions just to look hardcore in their videos, instead they look like clowns. Hats off from a fellow Welsh wild camper. 👍👍
Thank you, Jeremy, I really appreciate that comment. Yes, I've been caught out many a time on top of the mountains and it's not much fun when you end up in the thick of it. If you camp out enough, you're going to get that experience sooner or later anyway, so no need to go chasing it. Happy camping, mate!

@@wildaboutwales I’ve a theory that the prevailing wind can be 10-15mph but when you get camped in certain spots the landscape makes the wind accelerate and causes mega strong gusts giving you 30-50mph. I’ll live to fight another day lol

Great video, thanks. Nice whisky flask as well. Toby is also a star. I took my Frenchie to Edale for a night, and she threw up on my new Rab sleeping bag. Nice!
I agree that a fine campfire on a cold and rainy night calls for a wee dram or so of good whiskey. I have heard however that those fancy-flavored beers make fellas piss sideways. I'll stay with traditional craft brews.
Luckily I know exactly where you are so I just had a quick look and it says it was drained in 2016 for work on the Listed Building. And I checked the price on the Talisker 35 yr old, maybe one day if I win the Lotto I will get to taste it. Like yourself I have a vacuum sealer which I've been using for a few years, absolute must have around the kitchen. Also I use it for Wood chip pellets ( KItty Litter) that I seal with 2 Cotton wool/Vaseline Fire starters in each bag. I use them with my Wood gasifier stove. So many uses for these sealers, and my local Lidls in Porth sell the sealer rolls now and again for next to nothing. Great camp by the way, all the best Mally.
Yes, that's what someone commented on my IG earlier, around 2016...nice one, mate. He even posted some cracking photos of it when it was full. I thought it was much longer ago than that, but that's my bad memory. Yes, it's a little bit on the steep side isn't it, definitely a rich man's whisky. That's a good shout with the bags in Lidls.
