I had an original flat arm 5120....it was indeed an incredible piece of kit for its price point. It was dismissed by the industry as being a white elephant but its sonic capabilities when set up with a decent cartridge was outstanding. I went to one of the early demos at a hifi fair in London. Cannot remember where exactly. One of the Park Lane hotels....but the demo was a blind listen. The melee that ensued once revealed was a sight to see....audiophiles who were minutes before citing that it was this TT with that arm and so and so cart were hurriedly trying to cover their tracks!!

I had a NAD 533 back in the 90s, I think they were mostly sold through Richer Sounds and were very much a "poor man's Planar 2". It was fine enough but I remember being very disappointed by the platter at the time. In retrospect if you were in the market for a 533 you'd have been better off saving a little longer and getting a proper Planar 2.
it's not good idea having a magnet like system like that it's not done in the correct way. if you have two opposing magnets they never just lift off they will want to slide and that means it's pushing the spindle against the bearing housing what you would have thought would make more noise and cause some wearing take it off.
There's going to be new saferty ratings for cars that rely too heavily on touchscreens. Using a tochscreen to open a glove box is madness. It's just outright dangerous, changing radio stations is bad enough.
Would love to see an unboxing of the new Oak finish Planar 3. You’d be the first to have one on UA-cam! Pictures on the Rega website look promising. I hate the glossy finishes.
Linn Bearings are engineered to extremely fine tolerances, the materials are carefully selected,and tested.....I just don't feel that any " after market" modifications are going to help.Its only my opinion but the newish Karousel bearing would be a far better investment.
In theory ( big ? mark ) to apposing magnets should cancel out each magnetic field . But probably not completely , so what forces that propagate should be much reduced . Now I would imagine that the manufacturers will have given this all due consideration , bearing in mind the business they were involved in . But I repeat this is definitely the land of those whose knowledge is beyond my understanding . Kind regards to all

Hope you can test the oberon 7s soon. Have got a pair of fyne audio f501's. Harsh sounds. They are going back.
