Great info, thanks! I'm currently teaching myself TIG for the soul purpose of building my own exhaust and headers and this is going to help me get the finish I'm looking for.
Awesome video. I remember a similar video you did on Instagram. We do pretty similar cleaning at work. One thing I’d like to try is one of those pasivation electric machines they seem handy.
Wow great video, So if i use gray brush to brush a weld, and remove most material to have a smooth finish, Do i still need to passivate or the disc is enough to remove and protect from future rusting? Usung it for thin SS sheet panels for automotive restoration
I have never used bristle brushes before. I dont do any sanitary but do a lot of highly finished stainless and brass for high end retail displays. I wonder how these would hold up as a the first few steps towards a number 4 brushed finish on irregular shaped parts. I am going to order a few. Thanks
Love the videos man. I'm currently tasked with repairs on crack piping due to water hammering. I can do just fine on all the bench work of fabing pipe but how do you clean and fix cracks to prevent them from continuing to happen?
I just purchased some 316 Sch 40 stainless steel pipe for new davits on my sailboat. I found a good price from Onlinemetals, but the pipe finish is terrible and needs some attention. I was wondering what the best way to clean-up the pipe and found your channel. Perfect timing. I'll order a few of the suggested products to clean and brighten up the pipe.
hi mate, I started making stainless exhaust parts like headers, manifolds, etc. My welds usually have colour on them, gold, sometimes even blue. they look nice, do you think theres any benefit to cleaning exhaust stuff like this? Ive found when the exhaust gets used and the stainless discolours, you can usually see a band where the heat affected zone was, not sure if this would help with that
Bit of a random question, but how would you go about welding Tri-Clamp Flanges into something that's not a tube? Mainly something like a large boil kettle, would you just be taping off the large opening and going about business as usual, pretending the kettle is a giant tube? Secondly, are there any special or different techniques for sanitary welding copper? Appreciate the videos!
When welding a tank ferrule to a tank, you can isolate the weld for purging by taping off the face of ferrule and making a large pocket on the inside of the tank with foil or tape or anything. That way you just purge the small chamber and not the whole tank.
Just found your channel and you seem to know your shit. I'm in. Steel biz 45 plus years but tig is new to me, looking as a retirement hobby, artsy fartsy garden shit, fountains, whatevers.
You just can’t leave politics out of a welding video? There are 5000 other channels that discuss politics. This channel and its comment section are for discussing welding. I came here to learn about stainless weld cleaning techniques, not to see who you are voting for. Thanx.

Would love to see you fit and weld a small section with some bends. How do you keep that straight and true?!
Do you ever use that brown gravy, that Ox-Out? Im curious how it compares to your "death sauce".
