I've been bass fishing and hunting my whole life and I believe Greg is one of the best communicators for the guy like me that watched nature and figures why things work because of common sense. Bass fishing is a thinking man's game and being observant and thinking about what works is what separates the men from the boys. I always enjoy his videos.
With out a doubt this man is the most intelligent bass fisherman and teacher of all time ! He is so detailed with his approach . Thanks Greg !Tight lines !!!
Lake temps are still at 87 degrees in N.TX. Water quality IS an issue for sure. I haven't tried much shallow....will have to bang that out in the morning till the shade runs out! Great info. Thx Greg!
Great video. I mean great. Keep it simplified. I didn't quite understand about the oxygen in deep water but understand about the shallow bite. It is tough in August but he makes me want to go out there and try those methods. Way to go Greg.
Great information, I love a swim jig and pitching I am a power fisherman as well. I catch a lot of bass with a wacky worm , but that style of fishing gets on my last nerve Lol. I will rig up some rods with these baits and give them a try up here in Michigan. Thanks Greg
Great advice from a guy who knows what he's talking about. Sound like this is largemouth bass advice. Smallies are more abundant where I fish in Canada.
Thanks Greg been watching your career since the beginning! Great breakdown! I always remember your Sam rayburn win in 2006 and also that Giant bass you lost on lake amistad i think it was. Like a 12lb fish too! That one hurt! Lol.. But your an amazing bass fisherman! Another pioneer! Hack attack baby!!
I know in my lake that I fish the shad and bluegill fry are extremely shallow right now. I know if the shad and bluegill are in that water, the bass are!
Love the plopper and choppo. Keep one tied on one of my rods and keep it in the car. 95% of my bass fishin has been top water for the past few yrs. I lose 2 or 3 every summer but it's worth it. I've had some amazing strikes and blowups!
Let's start a new segment of fishing to represent power finesse. Let's call it ninja style. You are stealthy and sneaky, but when the business comes, you have and use the equipment to finish the job. One again, Mr. Hackney lays down some guaranteed juice!
Maybe not specific lure brands but type definitely is important and also part of knowledge and information. Implementation of data in a physical realm has a certain logic too. Easier to skip baits make less commotion and glide deeper into hiding spots effectively.
@GregHackney - you are a #hammer,Sir & someone's who's definitely turned me into a better @angler my self. Hack is from LA, I live in S LA, and he is giving a talk about fishing in August with a snow mobile suit on? WTH Its off the chart hot down here right now and again this cat has a heat suit on. Come on Man.
@@bassresource Hes got clothes on under it and again its AUGUST in LA my man, its hot as all get out down here. Again, its August, so yea thats a snow mobile suit here in LA.
Where in the world are you where it’s august already?!? lol .. messing .. lowland lakes are extremely tough- highland reservoirs get 🔥 in August so do northern rivers. I’m in upstate NY, July-September is best time to catch.m giant bass. Upstate ny, April, and October you typically catches the biggest bass, but they’re awful agressive and start feeding up in late August, especially smallmouth on the river, which is a canal system With locks and gets lowered in the winter and some wider sections of rivers the fish winter in these sections, I live on the widest section of a 93mike long river these bass return to the spots that are dried up in winter- come May when they fill the river, they return.. and the migratory bass come to this pool in lake August and they are FEEDING. Too water heaven, fast moving baits excel, jerkbaits, burning a fluke , miniMAX fishing, it gets great in august for us northerners. You have to be more suggestive to the north of the country- it’s always “mid to south “ in bass fishing
@@paulkimble6223 Oh I know that, I use several Strike King lures. They're his sponsors so he kinda has to push them. Wasn't knocking him just pointing out the obvious.

Thanx Greg. You do keep it simple and I'm all about that. I was surprised the Rodent didn't come up or the rage bug(my fav).

Great techniques for me to try advice for making this video.

And the good thing is that Greg isn’t one of those video game fishermen who live on the Bow staring at a screen! I love watching him and his videos

Great information thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
What knot do you tie on that straight shank hook?
Caught a 10.13 last week on a frog in less than a foot of water at 2pm down in Florida. The big ones seem to eat between 10-2PM for some reason
😱
I needed this
Thanks for watching @FirstClassPirate!

Of course Hack drops juice
That's simple enough 👍 👍 👍

Catching fish in August isn’t hard. It’s catching quality fish that’s hard.
Deadass
I remember my buddy Greg told me Bass don’t even eat real frogs 🐸 😆 he knows better IDK why he lied to me 😆
Greg always does fantastic videos. He’s always positive and it’s a relief when we’re bombed with whiners and complainers like Randy B.
