- There have been quite a few takes on what exactly the importance of the 7 Crowns are looking toward the future of the series. However, I've taken upon myself to look at this from a perspective that very few dare to perceive. The pieces have been placed, now how will they move going forward...

Yeah, I had a feeling Sora and Ephemer were connected. When I saw Ephemer for the first time, I thought he had the same vibe as Sora

Nomura always said that Sora is not a "Chosen one", he is suppsed to just be a regular dude who becomes a hero through his own actions.
However, you may be on to something about a current era character being one of the 7 crowns.
Who is an incredibly important character who lived on Destiny Islands as a child and went on to help Sora literally break reality and time to defeat The Darkness? A Child of Destiny perhaps even? Someone who also rode in a lifeboat? Kairi, is the 7th crown, just like she is the one of 7 Princesses of heart.
The thing is Sora IS a chosen one regardless of what papa Nomura says. At the end of the day Sora is the only character in the series that was actually chosen by a Keyblade by its own sentience based on his own strength of character. This is something wholly unique in the series, because as far as we know no one else has this distinction. His strength of character, despite his flaws is what we love about Sora and why we follow his journey!

When Dark Road had it’s finale, there was an interview with Nomura and he confirmed that Skuld is not Xehanort’s mother, but she does have connections with Skuld (which apparently will be explained in Missing Link supposedly)

As much as I agree with you on this wild theory for the 7 crowns, I REFUSE TO BELIEVE MALEFICIENT WILL BE ONE! But I think I know who to replace her with: Riku. I don't know why, but it seems fitting.

There are couple times Seven happens that are... interesting. In KH1, "Riku" creates the Keyblade of People's Heart with 6 Hearts (missing Kairi, the seventh).
In Kh3, Riku sacrifice creates Sora Will to continue and creates the start of the Chain of Lights through Finale World
In Remind, Riku appears after Sora rescues Kairi in the center of a Group of Seven.
And the Remind Cutscene where Sora invokes Riku's Heart Station to chain another Heart because he Ran out of Time is called "Our Hearts connect as One". This directly invokes the Child of Destiny Prophecy.
To put it simply, Sora and Riku are Two people, but Count as (Two become One). and are the Child of Destiny.
This also means Sora and Riku are 6 but also 7
I'll throw in my thoughts on this subject. Didn't Kairi take a pod to get to Destiny Islands? It could be possible that she may be the seventh crown if we're going on solely those people that use the pods. But here's another thing, if this seven crowns concept becomes important plot-wise, I don't see why they would suddenly give Maleficent way more story significance. Let alone making Maleficent a "light." But again that all depends on if this plot point goes anywhere, and if we take MoM and Darkness literally or seriously.
Yeah, Maleficent absolutely IS NOT a "light." She's probably way more likely to become one of the 13 true darknesses, (or may even already be one of them) given that she's obsessed with obtaining a copy of the Book of Prophecies. Kairi is far more likely to be the seventh light chosen by destiny, especially given that she was originally the princess of Radiant Garden, who would have presumably worn a crown at some point, and that she took a journey via the same kind of pod.

Brain had a medium, His Hat. Sigried gives it to him when he re-appears so most likely luxu left it for him to have a specific time to be transported to in the future.
I have a theory that the memories part is optional; but that also means the person who came back doesn't have their memories.
To add to this theory we did see one other person enter a life boat in the series outside of the people you mentioned. And that person was Kairi which I believe is actually the reincarnation of Ava.
the main evidence against this is that Ansem’s research specifically encountered 3 extra hearts in Sora, named as Ventus, Roxas, and Xion. It doesn’t track to have Sora be merged Ephemer or be the same person, because they encounter each other in that ethereal plane. I think the best explanation would be that Sora is Ephemer l’s offspring. If Sora is also the MoM, this would go in theme with the Master being light, and the time traveling shenanigans needed. I guess I agree halfway?
This is the thing, we all supposing that this 7 crowns for the 7 lights are a good thing. But im a fan of Digimon, and in Digimon we have this thing call the 7 Great Demon Lords, and this 7 Great Demon Lords represen the 7 Deadly Sins, but they have in their possession something that makes them stronger then the rest of the Digimons of their same species, the Crowns, which each represents a sin. And this Crowns could be taken from them and making a different Demon type Digimon into a member of their group.
So it could mean that the 7 Crowns are the sins, and the lights then ones that will harbor a Darkness, because the Master of Master said that the other Foreteller would be the holders of the big darkness... But was that the truth? He also call Luxu the traitor, so if he knows he would be the traitor why tell him the truth. It's something that just i can't get my mind out... It could also be just that i refuse to believe a word that comes out of this man's mouth just straight away until i have a truth that verifies it.

anyway: Skuld likely would not be Xeanhort’s mother but maybe his great great etc….Iirc from the retranslated final scenes of UX, where it’s stated that Ephemer was Xehanort’s ancestor.
As for the dream eater thing: that does not happen when a Keyblade wielder falls, that was a fate specifically designed for the dandelions locked within the data Daybreak town designed to trap the other primordial darknesses. So when/if Ephemer passed away, he likely just died.
But I will say Sora being crown #7 is interesting:
1. I don’t know how I feel about Sora being used as a Heart hotel again at this point. Everyone inside him had a connection to him in one way or another and Ephemer doesn’t really.
2. I feel a combination of disinterest of pulling another Ventus by having some of Sora’s power not being his own yet again, but because he had a secret other heart inside him giving him power. But also that it pushes Sora as ‘special’ when a lot of what people describe him as is the opposite.

I think ephemer is the MoM . They both are have light around them and would explain why he showed up to help sora plus he had the memories and the keyblades (medium)to bring people back to help. lol just a long shot

Can I blow your mind right now? There's a book called the Codex Regius or "King's Book" that basically everything in Kingdom Hearts is inspired from. Almost every single character in Union X is an Aesir in Nordic mythology except for ofc Xehanort and Eraqus but they don't count. Know who else doesn't count? Brain / Burein ブレイン which is obviously NOT supposed to be read in English as "BRAIN 🧠" but as " Bláinn " , the ancestor of all Jötnar in Nordic Mythology. It gets better the more you dig. In Norse Mythology, there exist figures named Sól, Syn, Dís, Iðunn, Lóðurr (an anagram of Luxord). Angrboða (Angerboda) / "Children of Loki" / Jörmungandr / Fenrir / Hel / Vé / Vili. And guess who else is not only an Aesir, but is also able to impersonate anyone they wish (usually Odin) and was canonically responsible for kicking off Ragnarok by getting Baldur killed? You called it. Loki. HOLD ON IT GETS BETTER. GO. LOOK. UP. LODURR. You know. Luxord's Somebody. In the Poetic Edda, the name Lóðurr occurs only once; in Völuspá, where Odin, Hoenir and Lodur animate the first humans, granting them Spirit, Sense and Blood, respectively. Lodur also means "Land" like "Terra" and "Riku" both do. All meanings of the name Odin stem from *Wōðanaz, meaning "lord of frenzy", or "leader of the possessed" so uhhh that's probably nothing. You know how the Master of Masters kinda hinted at there being a war prior when he was a boy and there might have been other keyblade users but they weren't really keyblade users? Well. Canonically there was an Æsir-Vanir War in Norse mythology and afterwards, the Vanir became a subgroup of the Æsir. Wanna know something really neat about the Vanir? They have the ability to see the future.
So Ephemer is confirmed to be in the realm of darkness all that needs to happen is to defeat his nobody and he’ll turn back into his somebody, Yozora is said to be Brain nobody but his nobody needs to be defeated so he can turn back into his somebody, Skuld is subject x and is supposedly in the data town so Lea, Isa, Roxas and Xion need to find her, Elrena and Lauriam are going to be looking for Strelitzia and Ven is in the realm of darkness with Aqua and Terra so reunion?!
The caretaker isn't the player character nor was it confirmed. You assumed that xehanort read someone else's memories but if that was the case he would have found Ventus after BBS. Rather Xehanort was the actual playable character, and this is why even in old age he seeks out the mirror to find vintus. This is why the master of master's visits xehanort. not eraqus, not aqua, not luxu but rather Xehanort. You also had Brain who is presumed to be eraqus's grandpa take off as mentioned by Baldr at the beginning of Dark Road. The caretaker isn't our payable character but Brain. His second life is after Luxu had to used Brains body to get out of the data world with the last. Otherwise, Master of Master plan wouldn't work with No Name being stuck in the data world. Xehanort is the player character. Otherwise, the caretaker wouldn't have taken xehanort to the destiny islands in the first place. the reason for this has to do with the fact that the last thing our player character did was pretend to be a darkness and actually attacked Ephimer and Skuld. After they send us and the 4 darknesses into the portal they actually though our player character was one of the 5. This means Ephimer and skuld would have remembered us attacking them and would have read the book of prophesies. to ensure if our player character had returned that scala ad caelum would have changed. Basically, they change scala to ensure no one would try to reset a sleeping digital world (tron was a sleeping digital world). If that was done, then the 4 darknesses could have gotten out. Consider, the darkness that took over Baldr was actually the 5th that didn't get trapped in the data world. I also suspect that it was this same darkness that cause the scala Ad Caelum to be change around the time Xehanort was born. Otherwise, if the player chararcter was the caretaker then darkness would have gone after him. Instead, we see baldr asking the question and if darkness had already truly pocessed him, it means the Caretaker took off because he had a full understanding of scala being a gate way to the prison. Rather he left destiny islands all together and asked that the new master transformed it how we saw it under Oden's rule. The 5th darkness never got trapped in the data world. Baldr didn't learn how to summon kindom hearts from just anywhere. That knowledge also didn't come from Odin, considering Odin helped stop him. Rather I suspect that the 5th darkness was the one we see talking to Master of masters, and decides it's a trap.
I thinking that was his dad and Ava was Sora’s mom. 😅
