Great video! Also, I liked the extra point you made at the end of the video.

Loved the non edited part, made it feel more genuine as if it were an actual class.
Great demo and chemistry between the crew mentor. Thank you.

What if… while he’s still in turtle your right hand moves to where your left hand is. Then you don’t have to replace it after roll. This saves time and increases efficiency. Leaving your left hand to more quickly come across chest for blocking the sit-up.
Second point. After the roll, although reaching across and around body and establishing top dominance is good. A prior system of control is to grab far side shoulder/ arm pit area and push/ post. Thereby eliminating their ability to come up. If left post is combined with right elbow on the mat with proper geometry this could be a quicker and more continuos version/ variation to secure opponent.
    What do you think?
    Love your stuff

Hey, I care about the high crotch turnover from wrestling.
Plus it gives a no gi version of the same move. Maybe if you catch the ankle you could get it from top turtle

I’m so backwards. I’m better at this stuff than I am throwing lol. But thank you will definitely try this if the opportunity arises this week.

I think most people are better at newaza then throwing, at least at first. Throwing takes a lot of timing and "feeling " the opponents weight distribution wich needs practice to develope. Where as something like a sweep from gaurd or a turnover doesn't require the same amount of "cooperation" from the opponent.

Alright. That's the turnover. What's the ROI?

You can also go into san-kaku from this attack

I don't see how. You need to get your leg in between his arms for a sankaku but you won't have time for that since you need to turn on top of him quickly after the sweep.

    • @huchhoppla

@@cerotidinon it is a simple san-kaku from the side as others have written here already. Either you roll over the shoulder of the leg that pushes his head down and close the triangle with this leg or you grab uke by the belt, flip him over your leg and close the triangle with the other one.

@@huchhoppla Your second variant seems to be the same sweep that Shintaro demonstrates. How would you close your legs in a situation like 0:53 ?
For the first variant I suppose to refer to the technique demonstrated here: ua-cam.com/video/mDf9bumZVGc/v-deo.html
Still, I can't see how you would get your legs closed. In above video, uke willingly let tori close the legs (as you can see in the linked video at 3:33). If uke resists, this doesn't seem possible. Usually for (sideways) sankaku you want to control uke's arm in order to get into position. But you can't do that from this entry (at least I still don't see how).
