I feel like it would have been better character development to have Mick deal with the drinking with Earth-One Snart because of Len's history with his father. Though I don't think it's confirmed, Lewis could have easily been a drunk as well as an abuser and that could have tied in another reason for him to be concerned with Mick drinking.
