Ok I know the people that are SU die hard a finna come back and say something but this has to be said: J-State had the better version for this song IMO.
Don’t get me wrong in this arrangement, you can tell whoever arranged it was trying to go for a certain aesthetic but it just didn’t sound right. The way it was played and arranged just doesn’t give that groovy feel. It sounded like it was tryin to be a ballot with a bit of crank. And then the trumpet screaming in the beginning right before the first chorus just threw it ALLLLL off. I’ll say the intro was creative and everything after 1:43 I didn’t really have any problems with. But that first bit between where the trombones finished playing the melody to the tuba break just didn’t give me the pizazz I wanted.
Now again this is my opinion. I’m a SU fan too. I’m a fan of a lot of college bands. Just speaking. My mind. 🤷🏽♂️
