I was there. Was a tense electric atmosphere. We just didn't have any pace at the back, and I don't think Richard Landon was quite the caliber we needed. Bad justice though, we finished 11 points above Burnley that season.
Paul, I played County football with John back in 1985 & 86. Believe me he knew how to handle the morons. A really nice lad John, so pleased for him that night. Shame Wembley wasn't a better occasion for him.
I'm a Stockport fan and couldn't believe it when the result of this match came through. We all thought Argyle would be our Wembley opponents, and that would have made for a far better game, as well...
