Not much to predict. Red is a very good player but there is only one thing that set him aside from the rest of the players at his level. He can do mainly 1 thing. He is essentially a worse Hoang. There is a reason why he doesn't do well in tournaments either.
That's because what RP does is now very predictable. Put those tactics in the hand of a LEL, and the age community would laugh that LEL out of the game
This guys clearly watched video of how RP plays which kinda sucks . This so called pro players are trash at making games fun , it’s not rocket science what deaker did he literally went to see videos of his gameplay , not many people gonna watch this tournament anymore lol the fun is over .
@@miguellua9125 You are completely lost. 1. Deaker didn't need to see any video to know how RP plays. In fact RP can do the same with his opponents. Of course, the problem is that RP is a one trick pony, so the fun stops when you know what he is going to do. If nothing else, I love that Phosphoru essentially forces pros to play differently. Phosphoru is currently rank 86th in the world in Random 1v1. He's only 9 ELO behind Deaker atm at 2379 v Deaker's 2388 so really there isn't thaaat big of a gap between the two of them.

One interesting thing I learned from this is that the defenders against this strat have a slight advantage if they know it's coming. If you're up against Phosphoru then you know you can skip loom, whereas Phosphoru has to get loom because he doesn't know what to expect, allowing the opponent to get a small advantage every time.
Exactly, tournament play is harder for off-meta players. But they make play so much more interesting, as it's always fun to see someone challenge the current meta.
It's where he would be strongest, because the element of surprise is his whole thing. If he goes undiscovered for even a couple of minutes it can be too late.
I think phosphoru lost in the draft, but he also needs to improve his management of eco. When you are running such tight builds it would help a lot to make sure your vills aren't idle. In the last game he had 28 minutes of idle eco compared to 4 minutes for Deaker. He also should learn to adapt when his opponents also go all in fast castle. Maybe like when Phosphoru sees his opponent go fc yolo jannissaries to defend, he just instead sells resources to build a second tc and just defends with monks or skirms. This kind of adaptation would help his winrate in these tournaments a lot since there would be some ambiguity on what Phosphoru is going to actually do.
Love this format and I love the variety. Agree with others, being not able to do as much AOE2 as I'd like, these are a great way to keep in touch with the scene.
Phosphoru is the Steph Curry of AOE. Even when he loses , it's only because he has already changed the game. Props to Deaker, who now everyone has to worry about when playing if he will bust out the Phos builds. If I remember correctly, this was Phos' stated mission from the get go (someone better than me to adopt the strats).
While I can give RP credit for inventing a strategy that works at a high level, I think the comparison is completely exaggerated. His strategy did not change the metagame, as the metagame still crushes him consistently. Deaker decided to play this way to win quickly and easily, but even playing another way (for example with scouts and archers), it would be easy for him to beat you. It's simply too much level difference (2600 vs 2200).
