      Not much to predict. Red is a very good player but there is only one thing that set him aside from the rest of the players at his level. He can do mainly 1 thing. He is essentially a worse Hoang. There is a reason why he doesn't do well in tournaments either.

    • @dynastynyy
      @dynastynyy Місяць тому

      That's because what RP does is now very predictable. Put those tactics in the hand of a LEL, and the age community would laugh that LEL out of the game

      @@miguellua9125 You are completely lost.
      1. Deaker didn't need to see any video to know how RP plays. Deaker, just like any player at his level, has played against RP before and it is well known what he does. Besides, he doesn't even need to know, Deaker is a 2600 player, 300-400 points higher than RP, it's easy for him to beat him.
      2. Even if he had, what's wrong with researching an opponent to beat him? In fact RP can do the same with his opponents. Of course, the problem is that RP is a one trick pony, so the fun stops when you know what he is going to do. You're asking players to let themselves win just for fun because you'd like RP to win. Sounds like “how boring are the pros who do what it takes to win instead of playing badly so RP can win”.
      I think you're just being too much of a fan of RP, when he's not as important as you think.

    Glad he won a round and then experienced the difference between tournament and ladder matches. Really hope to see him continue to innovate and improve. Imo if he learns to boom and play more traditionally, he could be lethal. People would have to defend against the violence and if he scouts and sees his opponent doing so well enough, you don't commit to the all in and can then get the resource lead

      Phos can boom and play traditional, as can hundreds of others... that is not what he plays for. Deaker using HIS builds and strats was the stated mission from the get go. He has changed the game. Everyone now has to wonder if Deaker will Phos everytime they play them.

    If nothing else, I love that Phosphoru essentially forces pros to play differently. Sure, it's off meta, but I think it's important to note that Deaker had to meet him in fast castle to stay competitive. If Phosphoru was a higher skilled player, theres no reason that his strategy wouldn't have worked. I love AOE2 for this and how strategies can be different, and if you don't adapt you will most surely lose.

    I think phosphoru lost in the draft, but he also needs to improve his management of eco. When you are running such tight builds it would help a lot to make sure your vills aren't idle. In the last game he had 28 minutes of idle eco compared to 4 minutes for Deaker. He also should learn to adapt when his opponents also go all in fast castle. Maybe like when Phosphoru sees his opponent go fc yolo jannissaries to defend, he just instead sells resources to build a second tc and just defends with monks or skirms. This kind of adaptation would help his winrate in these tournaments a lot since there would be some ambiguity on what Phosphoru is going to actually do.

      While I can give RP credit for inventing a strategy that works at a high level, I think the comparison is completely exaggerated. His strategy did not change the metagame, as the metagame still crushes him consistently.
      Deaker decided to play this way to win quickly and easily, but even playing another way (for example with scouts and archers), it would be easy for him to beat you. It's simply too much level difference (2600 vs 2200).

    There is always a counter strategy if your opponent knows what you're gonna do. What phosphoru shows though, is that his all ins can work at the highest levels, but not if that's your only tool. Imagine if he was able to boom in game one instead. Then, the opponent would have spent precious time and resources on walling up and preparing for the onslaught, only to find himself behind economically. A one-trick non-meta strategy works great against one-trick meta-only ladder players, but against any actually skilled player capable of keeping calm under stress and deriving their own strategies on-the-fly to counter what an opponent is doing, it's never going to have much in the way of longevity. I don't understand the community's obsession with Phosphoru. If a LEL did this same stuff with as limited success as phosphoru did, we'd be laughing them out of the game

    Honestly,i really wants some one to give hard time phasphuru in his face through counter strategies.. now phasphuru got taste defeat, instead of joy i feel sad. Because opponent did not bring something new against phasphuru but mimicking phasphuru strategies..

    19:30 the guy was really ready to Phoshored him...
    Btw, it's called a RTS, real-time strategy and there is only one player in the pro-scene playing strategy.. 7/10 strategy :)
