RGM-79[G] GM Ground Type (MS IGLOO)

- An early prototype of the Earth Federation Forces' mobile suit mass production project, the GM Ground Type was developed before the RX-78-2 Gundam's operational data was recovered. Even though it was only able to operate on Earth, its internal parts were all tuned for ground combat, and it was equipped with Luna Titanium armor, causing its mobility, maneuverability, and general performance to surpass the later RGM-79 GM. The GM Ground Type was a simplified version of the RX-79[G] Gundam Ground Type, and produced using the same production line. Due to its use of Luna Titanium alloy, it was unsuited for mass production and produced in limited numbers.
That trench is validation for air recon. First.
Surprised that one gm made it out
That's not a trench, that's a canyon! Did you see the tank fall in? Either that was a natural landscape that should have been on maps or Zeon has some serious earth movers!
1:35 I've always liked how the mobile suits in this series sound like construction equipment
Ms igloo (especially this episode) is soooo underrated, like we never ever see combine arms warfare in gundam and this episode is where we get not only a sense of scale and weight to mobile suits but also implemented fighting along side tanks, artillery, aircraft, and standard infantry. Just forget about the ghost mythos thing and cg humans tho 😅
Also unrelated but whoever thought the ground type gms should use the tower shields is a godsend, it just makes the proportions so much better and it actually feels like a front line ms now
If I ever get the chance to I want to make a combined arms strategy game set during the OYW. Think something along the lines of the Men of War franchise, assuming that you have played any of those, but yes in those game you are able to take direct control of individual units and operate them via mouse and keyboard.
So something like that with the addition of the required scale to make sense, let's say one of the individual fronts on Odessa day (if you remember there was a left, right and centre front) so that I am able to properly represent the daft units like the "Big Tray". That and I would want to have a properly represented Z axis for space contract, this coupled with a accurately functional radar system and ECM/EECM systems via minovsky particles.
And in the far more likely event that I am unable to get the license, I'd ideally develop the same idea wherein it's obviously visually inspired by Gundam.
Only hurdle for all of this is my having to entirely relearn to code, the stuff I was taught at college is almost twenty years out of date lol.
Anyways sorry for the long reply, I hope you are doing great and I wish you all the best!
@@WeWillAlwaysHaveVALISTechnically, you do fight against combined arms Federation units in Zeonic Front.
Well the 08 MS Team Gundams unit use the short shield as a stand for firing the 180mm cannon, use the bottom claws as a cqc weapon and to cover from light gunfire, it's multiuse while the big Gundam shield only works to protect themselves
00:33 - 00:35 Wait, did a GM pilot actually dodge AND protect himself with it's shield?!?! What sorcery is this?!?!
Also, someone give that pilot a Gundam! I mean, he at least has competent survival skills, which is pretty rare among Feddie pilots (at least, the way it's being depicted in more modern Gundam media: GM pilots are just walking bulls-eyes)
This makes me wish for a full UC 0079 game that goes through the full war. We have games set in the era, even some that touch on bits outside what the Gundam and friends were doing. But we don’t really see the massive scale of war, like in Operation Odessa or when the EFF gets back into space.
Even the shows never make the battles feel massive. Sure you see the battleships and such exploding, but they’re closer to set dressing than anything else.
Original Zeonic Front for the PS2. IMO the only Gundam game that’s done mobile suit combat ‘right’. Well aside from Blue Destiny for the Saturn.
there was one that was close it was call gundam zeonic front and it was pretty neat at the time.
Crossfire doesn't do it very well but it does have you moving across the entire Earth, as Zeon or EFF over the course of the ground stage of the OYM. Controls are clunky, but I kinda like that when you're dealing with grunt MS.
Shout to that smart GM that got hit and used his shield for the next impacts 👍
Gotta love MS Igloo. Shows how terrifying a MS would be to the standard soldier.
The igloo works great.
It makes me feel the horror of machine guns.
I like powerful beam weapons, but I also like machine guns.
Doesn't take energy to down an opponent.
hope it doesn't get removed but it probably will.
1:39 and this is why removing the head vulcan's was a mistake.
I still think Federation suits at cooler than all Zeon suits.
It's ok to be wrong.
why though? Feds suits are lacking in charisma and character, especially compared to grunt Zaku. They all look like basic toys
@@vermillioncross657 Because standardized designs like what the Federation makes is what I would expect from an effective military in real life. The design philosophy is more practical and I like that.
I also just really like Gundam designs.
@@vermillioncross657 counterpoint: Master Chief
I think they need a Ground Gundam, lol.
What's the gundam series called
Ms igloo is have 2 series
WW2 North Africa campaign but with mobile suits.
