Big island of Puerto Rico has 1,600 square miles of rivers and lakes and 3,435 square miles of land for a total of 5,035 square miles, just the big island alone, yet we have several other bigger islands, such as La Mona, Culebra, and Vieques Islands, as well as other smaller islands, such as Gilligan's Island, Desecheo, Isla Santiago, Palomino Island, Caja Muertos, where some of these islands are much bigger than Monico and Vatican City, as well as 199 cays and attolls that can total more than 7,000 square miles. A true archipelago paradise in the Caribbean, and a hot tourist spot, with 78 most modern cities in the entire Caribbean. El Aguadillano
This is Cayo Santiago.(Monkey Island). Its been 3 years since Hurricane Maria..and the trees where wiped out from the storm...why haven't new trees been replanted..poor monkeys.. are exposed to the Extreme Heat/Sun..there is No one in PR that can replant.. new trees on the island...WTF..so disapointed in our Governor..
While there's blame to be spread around regarding the state of the island, the Governor's not really directly or indirectly involved. Any form of replantation is extremely difficult because a) the monkeys tend to eat anything planted and b) anyone on the island has to wear pretty heavy protective gear- the monkeys, among other things, are herpes carriers.
I had the misfortune to anchor off that island in the winter of 2018. As you can see it was totally deforest from the hurricanes that hit in 17 you can see how the poor little bastards now in concentration camps what you don't hear is are their cries at night. I don't know who decided their fate afterwards but I bet if you could ask them they would have rather been left to deal with their own fate.
The monkeys aren't in "concentration camps"; the structures on the island are for humans on the island to store maintenance equipment, plus a couple old concrete buildings tied to water distribution. The big central cage thing is used for capturing monkeys for research, occasionally, but that's it.
@@robertkowalski9906 Yes, I was. I was part of one of the Project Monkey Island recovery teams removing wreckage and sourcing the new building materials, along with doing cleanup in Punta.
@@robertkowalski9906 What on earth is wrong with you. Why would I come to a youtube video about Cayo Santiago and make up stuff about the operations of the research facility. You made the initial claims; if you want to back them up, go get in touch with the facility staff in Punta.

Super!!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 ¿Cómo pueden llegar a tantas islitas? ¿Usan algún GPS o guiador de mar? Gracias….
Saludos! No tenemos GPS pero siempre estudiamos los mapas anted de tirar. Para los Cayos e Islas de PR no hace tanta falta el GPS.🤙🏼💯
