When you look at it that way, Session acts as the earliest form of Bladecharge in the series. I'd like to see Riku use it more considering he canonically knows Bladecharge (DDD).

Shooting Star Original: Closer to a baseball homerun, Auron rushing close to the enemy and punts them into the sky. KH2: Focuses on the mobility and circular aspect of the move to be a gap closer. Banishing Blade Original: Swigs some sake and spits it on his sword, enchanting it to create a pillar of energy. KH2: Focuses on the pillar of energy as a vertical attack. Both distill the attack and adapt them to work in a real time action game.

Master Hearts: started by Riku has the light sword style used by Terra (and Aqua) in Blade Charge XIII Blades: It looks more directed by sora since he makes the last move and has the light swords style use by ventus in WingBlades Riku got his keyblade from Terra sora got the ability to use a keyblade from Ventus Heart being inside him and we know that xion and roxas also have part of ventus Heart due to that (xion having the most at the time of his fight with roxas) makes you think how much was planned from the beginning and how much was done over the years and games

The fact that they actually use each other's Keyblades to double slash their targets twice is just so fucking cool! I also think it shows just how in sync they are with one another and how much they trust each other in battle.

Nah, session DOES do a lot of damage. It’s just that it starts doing MUCH more damage only AFTER the limit’s done and your not locked on anymore. Cause of that, you don’t see enemies like xemnas showing that he lost one or two bars of health after it.

For a lot of the limits you missed that a specific order of performing Sora's and the team member's attack will let you perform more attacks before the final command appears. It's not "random".
Absolutely love how much trust Sora and Riku have. Leon just tried to touch Soras keyblade in KH1, and it immediately came back to him. He trusts Riku that much and he trusts him just the same

Duck Flare will forever be cherished. That stun lock. As fast and fluid (post patch) as the Kingdom Hearts III combat is, the limits in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix are unmatched.
I like how sora uses both hands to cast Dark Firaga and Riku only uses one because Riku is more focused and Sora is more sporadic(and also slightly less versed in using Darkness).
I'm so glad I started using limits more in my recent most playthrough, they're so fun to use and really good in just about any situation. Especially if you can't Drive Form because the gauge is empty, or if you've been doing it too much and will probably get saddled with Antiform.
Trivia: Riku and Sora's All's End from Session is an allusion to Ventus and Vanitas clash during their fight in BBS (Final Boss, D-Link with Vanitas) The clash is done with either Dark Spiral or Dark Link's Laser blast.
Hopefully in the future we get more limits, less _team attacks_ honestly, I feel like particle effects and fancy camera work aside, so much more effort and care is put into making all these attacks that have player agency instead of just triggering a cinematic, I feel like it’s for that reason that most people will say they enjoy either the toy story, pirates, or bh6 team attacks the most. Honestly at this point I’d trade out something links moving forward if it meant more detailed and fun attacks like limits with the actual present party members. Also thanks for helping us to appreciate session even more, it’s part of the reason I’m even making a comment, we gotta see more sessions and less goofy bombardiers (or even trinity guard 🤐) I might not comment as much as I used to but still love the breakdowns all the same! 💙
Duckflare is just a weaker version of Zettaflare (not) And these attacks feel really badass, I do love the kh3 limits but I wish there was a way to get them more consistently And great video! I actually never noticed some details

It's always satisfying when you win a boss fight with the final attack of a Limit. I remember this one time when I beat Xaldin with the Last Howl attack. That was especially satisfying, because when I first played the game, it took me months to beat Xaldin.
I didn't grow up with a ps2. So instead I watched KH2 on youtube, and studied the combat animations intensely. I've since gone through the series after getting ps3 +4, but this video sparked my game design study again. Thank you !
Something u missed about the trinity limit which speedruners abuse is when Sora uses a magnet spell then uses the drive orb trinity limit u can actually fill up ur drive gauge and deal destructive amount of dmg towards the enemies
The reason for this is that the enemies get knocked out of magnet and sucked in again which means they receive a lot of hits in a short amount of time which gets you a lot of drive energy and increases the damage you do in the final attack of the Trinity limit

I believe you actually need Limit Boost to use Break three times during solo Trinity Limit, meaning it's not possible in LV1 runs. Not totally sure though.
This was fun to watch because I either never used or didn't remember most of the limits, but this video is completely misnamed. There was no analysis done, just a description of each limit. I clicked expecting someone to talk about how each one accomplished what they set out to do for limits, whether that be entertainment, fanfare, or strategic use, but all I got was "this is what they do, this is what the buttons do." Thumbs up either way, but please change the name to just "every kh2 limit" instead.
In my opinion, analysis is more than just utility! I think anything that takes a closer look such as looking at animations or the attacks that happen can fall into the analytical category. I completely understand though why you might have been disappointed!
I've never known whether or not the Reaction Boost ability affected the Limit commands as well. I always just assumed they did so I would just always try to hit the finisher on a triangle press. That and I always attempt to finish boss battles using Limits when possible, especially Final-Xemnas; cause you've gotta be flashy and cool about it. Also: since we're doing team attacks and limits, would you consider doing a breakdown on the KH1 Limits? Although that may be redundant since you've already covered them in your Limit Form breakdown.

Hello, I liked the video. Here is some constructive criticism. I'm interested in a 'breakdown' of the limits, not just to hear someone describe what happens, but to hear about the mechanics of the limits, and how they are used by high level players. For instance, I did not get any idea of which limits are more or less effective, if any have elemental effects, or if the community has a consensus over any ingenious strategies about where and when to use different limits. You could have included that Duckflare is the most effective limit in the game, and is much used by speedrunners. I beleive this is because Soras movement is unchanged, and hes invincible while the limit is active, while also providing more damage.

You forgot how Ultima and Break also have a magnet-type property to them that pull in enemies until the attack is finished.

With summons if you are using them the gambler nobodies can't turn Sora into a dice/card but deal damage.
if you're in a drive form when turned into a card/dice the drive reactivates when you revert, fully healing you AGAIN and resetting the form gauge

Limit Attack is a very good system but unfortunately I used it very little in my gameplays
It's almost necessary on higher difficulties like lvl1 for good damage and i-frames. I often used it to avoid attacks I couldn't dodge normally.
