I feel like New York is a different beast, bc it’s pretty easy to meet people without apps in smaller college towns. I prefer to date mutual friends, but my current boyfriend of a year was actually my coworker at the campus gym.
I would definitely have values, but go into things with NO expectations bc then it’s harder to be disappointed when you aren’t expecting a fairytale or rom com

I've always been so curious about how different dating must be in a big city. It's definitely something I want to experience because it seems more fun/casual than in a smaller area, but it does seem like you take more hits and experience more dating fails.
Man I totally relate to Julia downloading and deleting I did that with dating apps and I do it all the time with Instagram, it's just cleansing and liberating to completely uninstall and/or delete the account!
Won’t you rather just get out of it and go back later instead of losing all your matches by deleting it?

It sucks and that makes it so easy to get stuck in the mindset of thinking "wtf is WRONG with ME, why is nothing working?". Your video really helped remind me that my experience is the norm and also is the reality of dating in the city. Thanks so much for being you, making me videos, helping other people, and making me feel less alone:) Love your videos, and definitely looking forward to the rest of the series.

I wish I had this kind of confidence when I was young, but I just went mute anytime a guy talked to me. I have social anxiety disorder and I'm only just starting to date now in my 30's after years of therapy and medication :( A deep sense of grief for the missed experiences.
