    Good video and well explained, mine isn't working at all and fuse is good so guess I'll look at the back of switch and fan next, after dealing with the rust situation first of course! 👍

      Thank you, it’s worth checking the switch first if not then it will most likely be the motor 👍🏼 haha hopefully it’s not as bad as it looks, good luck 😁

    Never use the heater on full power constantly, it will melt the switch and or plug, unfortunately they were not made very well, i used to service a fleet of mk3/4/5 transits and it was allways an issue, the motors overheat snd sieze up ☹️ eventually things will start to melt, first the switch plug and if left the ign switch plug can melt as well 😮 cutting the ign stopping the engine.
    Good informative video chap 👍

    One again your video saved the day.. I have freed off the hot cold vent flap on my mk5. In the last few seconds you showed the removal of the plastic duct… did you discover an easy way to replace it.. mine is catching on the male section of the duct and ther is no upward wiggle room… any thoughts please.. nick

    My fan only works on full, no other settings. My temp gauge doesn’t work. I ordered a new coolant sensor of eBay but sadly it’s wrong my plug is different to the one of eBay, and all the ones on eBay seem the same so may have to see ford for a new temp sensor. Thanks for uploading 👍

      That’s unlucky man! It’s a silly place but I suppose it has to be there because they get hot. As I found out touching it just after it had been on 😂

    Do you by any chance know where I can buy or rent the tools to centralise a new crankshaft seal and also a new camshaft seal on my MK5 transit 'banana' 2.5D engine? I'm having to remove the front plate to change the front plate gasket and as part of that job, I'll be replacing the seals. Any help or info appreciated!

    hi,
    I have a heating problem identical to yours:
    if I turn the heat knob to the maximum, I can smell a burning smell coming from the air vents,
    if I move it to cold or lukewarm air everything is ok.
    thank you

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  2 роки тому

      Hi Mike, If it’s the cold/ hot damper control, that’s just moving the damper to take air from across the heater matrix or from the cold duct. Not sure why it would smell like burning unless that’s the smell of the heater matrix.

    Very good video!
    Do tou know why my heather doesnt work?!
    My fan also skeaks a lot, where is it located?
    Thank you

      @TurnersWorkshop97  Рік тому

      Thank you 🙏 other than the reasons in the video I’m unsure why your heater isn’t working. The fan is behind the dash. You could try and oil the fan bearings or replace the fan unit.

    Hi, first to all thank you for your video, it is a great tutorial! In my case, I have a Transit 1998 nugget and it never gets warm inside, is always providing cold air, but the engine temperature gauge is working, In this case is the thermostat failing too? thanks mate

    • @TurnersWorkshop97
      @TurnersWorkshop97  3 місяці тому

      Hi, no problem at all :) does the temperature gauge show the engine get up to normal temperature? If the engine isn’t getting up to temperature it’s likely that it needs a new thermostat. If it’s just the cab that won’t get warm it could be that the heater matrix is blocked and needs flushing through. I have a separate video on my channel about the cooling system if you’re interested 😁 apologies for the delay replying

      @@TurnersWorkshop97 Hi Mate! Thank you for answering. Your video was very useful as I also had the "one speed" fan problem. I fixed it by replacing the resistor as you explained, but It didn't fixed the heat problem.
      Yes, the gauge gets normal temperature (always stands on "M" or "A" after 10-15 minutes running) so, in this case, we can discard the thermostat failure.
      I'll check the other video. thanks again
