Great trick Alex! That vintage texture effect in DaVinci Resolve gives a great touch to any video or presentation, and it's also very easy to customize. Let's try it now!
first of all, thank you for your videos :) second: when you speak about overlays (section 3 and 4 of this video), you can do it the other way around, too. put the vintage texture below and the colour or the clip on top of it. then change the composite mode of the colour or the clip and you're done. this should make relatively little difference in the fist case, with the solid colour, but i suspect you can keep the colours of the clip, if you put the clip on top and play with its composite mode. i have to try it myself, but i think it will work. :)
I just need a basic particle generator (to make like snow, sand, dust, embers or bokeh) from the edit page and I'll be set haha. You would be able set the amount, fade, focus, randomness, speed, direction, motion blur, etc. Paired with Fast Noise, you can make any atmosphere. Davinci PLEASE
Give a man a fish you’ll feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he’ll be full his whole life! Teach is how to make it ourselves! Thank you so much!
Ha it is! This wasn't the video I intended (I need to finish my Dialogue Leveller one!) but I started having fun with this so figured I'd post it instead 😁
Please show me how to create a generator, they look so much like motion backgrounds with added extras for changing the look, thank you for sharing your knowledge. And yes if you are going to create a pack for download, I would be in for that too!
Congratulations on a fantastic set of informative videos. Now maybe you can help me with a problem. Having edited a series of videos and sound mixing them in fairlight, the client needs a revised cut which is shorter. All is good, no problem until I get back into fairlight. While all the audio matches perfectly with the revised shorter version, the automation is not. The automation has stayed in the same place so music and narration is fading in and out as per the original cut. How can I do an edit on the edit page, which will also edit the automation in fairlight? As it is it requires a complete re soundmix which is not ideal. Many thanks again for all your wisdom…..it’s much appreciated.
thanks for the video Mr. Alex , actually i am still running DVR 18 free version and i didn't update ? should i update or not ? also if u can make videos for the same effects on 18 version will be helpful.
If you have a video with a few hundred images used in the timeline, is there a way to quickly apply a Vintage Texture to all of those clips? (excluding the main video)
I know this is completely off-subject. However can you do a video demoing a Snapdragon Elite X running Davinci. I am asking you because I saw at least one of your videos where you were talking about hardware. I bet Snapdragon would be thrilled to provide the famous Mr. AlexTech with a Snapdragon device for you to do the demo. I want to buy a Microsoft Surface Pro running snapdragon, but I don’t wanna waste my time and money if it turns out to be a big yawn. I’ve been searching everywhere, but there were no videos showing all of the features that are improved using a Snapdragon You can do it. And become even more DaVinci famous!!! …Rowby.
what a crazy world we live in... companies do all they can to be better than their competition, more mpx, more resolution, more F-stops, more depth, more everything, and what do user want? vintage, damaged film look, scratches, blur, flares and distorsions :-) I miss the 80s 😀
Well, I know there are some really useful things that can be done with this feature. But it seems like a "fake vintage" feature to make your high-quality image (that you paid so much for when you bought your camera) look like it was shot in an historical context. Already I can see this kind of thing taking hold in the art. This is something that will quickly become a "tell" that disqualifies your footage as "fake." Be careful. This "feature" will quickly become passe'. What, after all, is the real point of it?
Definitely create a pack that we can download, and making a tutorial wouldn't hurt either! Thanks for all your hard work!!
Congrats on 200k subs
Thanks Geoff!

Love it. Glad I found your channel. I’m new to Davinci and your packs have helped tons.
Great stuff. Always something new and interesting. Thanks again for the upload Alex.
Awesome! Now we need the LUTs to go with it for the footage. Or maybe even... power grades?
Great little tip. Thank you!
Thanks Alex as always, good job!

Nice job Alex. Thank you for sharing.
Yeah, I love learning more about Resolve.
Ooooh. I would love me some MrAlexTech vintage (or modern) textures. I will gladly buy a pack.
Pretty sure you would have a lot of interest if you produce a pack to download.
Thanks for this! I'd also like to learn to roll my own!

Very cool !
easy peasy ... and for FREE 😁
Might be useful for the sides of vertical.
Great find Alex! I must find an excuse to use this! BTW, what happened to the dialog leveller video?
How about a video about Composite Modes? I think I sort of understand some of them but would appreciate your take on things.
would love to learn how to create those
Great

Hola Mate. A quick question. Are you having a Black Friday sale on Your store? If yes, how much are you are you discounting? Thank you
Hope they create a bit more texture variants, because this one with the two dots in the middle is quite recognizable and so becomes repetitive fast.
Would love a tutorial!

I don't know why, but Vintage Texture does not work on my computer? - It shows nothing when I put it on the Timeline.

Please make free plugins of world map
It would be faster to make an old photo album style, like Shrek first scene
How so?!

Sorry Alex,
This won't work unless you fixed the aspect ratio, removed the color, and dressed like Charlie Chaplain 😅
