It's very satisfying when you can get one of these "perpetual motion" resource chains working. My favorite one so far was one where I had humans + herb garden (for roots) + press (for oil and flour) + temple (for infinite hostility reduction) + bakery (for biscuits) + Biscuit Diet cornerstone. In the end I had something like over 5k roots and herbs and -500 hostility.

With enough production you can sacrifice oil 3x permanently for +75% global production speed. It can go crazy. As for the Roots, I assume it's for balancing reasons, since they are way more useful than Grain overall.
