Dawn Welles is a great person and friend worth having . She devoted herself to taking care of Mrs Howell as her health failed and was very supportive of Bob Denver in his times of need . She is beautiful inside and out .
I agree with you back then television was so much better so clean You can allow your children to watch this now Television now you have to see what's on there and let your children know whether or not they can watch it because TV has too much nastiness in evil

I used to live in Dawn’s guesthouse and I recognize a lot of the stuff shown here. It’s surreal seeing it all out for sale like this. I hope wherever she is now, she’s living comfortably and out from under the debts.

I loved her on the show. My dad was a cab driver for years in Nashville. He picked her up one time from the airport. He said she was very sweet. He did not get an autograph. He wasn’t really one to ask. You’re so sweet to support her and get some of this great stuff. 😀

Great job Jordan. Been a nurse 32 years and one thing I can say is true .... it doesn’t matter who someone is or what they do/did a persons health can change everything. Seen many fall by the wayside because of this. It’s great u bought some things to help in her health care needs. And yes Ginger or Mary Ann..... always Mary Ann. Best wishes to Dawn as well.

So nice that you supported Dawn's sale Jordan. It's so interesting to see what the celebrities have, but it's also so so sad that she has to sell all her worldly belongings. Stars of today won't have to worry about these residuals, certainly doesn't seem fair for the older stars. This Vlog reminds me of the one you did on Doris Roberts estate sale, again, while it's so interesting for us to see their belongings it's just so sad at the same time. I have meet Dawn Wells twice in my life. I even bought her tv from her off of her website. Then I went and saw her at a charity event. I walked in with her as I approached her in the parking lot. It was myself and my son. Once she found out I bought her tv, she was so happy to meet me. Next thing you know, she invited us to come with her. My son and I spent 15 minutes with her in a room talking to her, just Dawn and my son and I. Then she called her manager and had me talk to him because he sent the tv to me. She made us feel like the celebrities. She was a very kind person. I have two videos one of the tv, the other of the experience I just mentioned. Sad to here she passed away.

Dawn used to live in St. Petersburg, Fl. Everyone loved her, from the garbage men to the postman. She was known for being kind to everyone. I wondered why she settled there. Her garbageman was a friend of mine and he adored her.
I was hoping you would be going to this when I saw Scott Michaels post about it, glad you got to support her. I hope Dawn is doing okay. I work in health care policy advocacy and see the devastating impact health care costs in this country have on people's lives. We have a long way to go in improving the system.

I would have bought that whole box of cards. I send cards to everyone in my church for birthdays, anniversaries, get well, sympathy, encouragement. So that box of cards would have been very useful to me. I loved Mary Ann, and everyone on Gilligan's Island. I loved, loved that show. Watched it religiously every week. And now I enjoy watching the reruns on Retro TV. That is awesome that you want to that yard sale to buy some things which would support Mary Anne. 😉😊
We never got Gilligan's Island here in the UK but I'm aware of it as American pop culture. Last time I was in LA my buddy took me to the late Charlton Heston's estate sale. It was a sad, weird but overwhelmingly fascinating experience picking through a famous stranger's possessions.

Watching this really breaks my heart I met Dawn where I live after she was in a play and had a very lovely one-on-one conversation with her for over 20 minutes .when I heard about her illness I gave quite a bit of money to help her out I wonder how she's doing now.

I read online, from 2017, that she was the only member of the cast who had a clause written into her contract regarding residuals. Her exhusband, she said, wanted that put in. Obviously, she sadly doesn't get much, it would seem. What a shame... So many like Beaver and Wally from "Leave It To Beaver", get nothing.
I have read and seen interviews where this story has gone both ways. In some interviews she has stated that none of them received any residuals, and in some she has stated that her then husband had negotiated residuals for her because, at the time of signing, the producers didn't even think the show would get picked up, let alone make it to re-runs. Perhaps she did not want her cast mates to know she was getting money.

It was also reported she was very embarrassed about the donations, but finally decided to use them after waffling back and forth about the matter. Apparently, she has to pay off medical bills and relocate to a smaller facility. Beyond her, it is sad that those early TV stars made next to nothing after their shows' original runs... Today's TV stars are far more fortunate than these early pioneers. They continue to bring in the BIG bucks years after their shows fold.
Rhonda Zambernardi it wasn't just TV Stars. Same was true in Hollywood for most earlier movie stars. They got paid when they made the film, but unless you were a big name star with a lot of negotiating power like Clark Cable that was when the pay day ended. The stars that did well bought property and made other investments.
We would play like we were on Gilligan's Island when I was a little girl,and I would always want to be Mary Ann..Lol! I loved Gilligan's Island even if I was watching re-runs..Just like people say they just don't make them like that anymore..

Great vlog Jordan! I didn't know that Mary Ann was hurt in a car accident, I would have thought that if she was hit by someone else that their insurance should have paid for her losses. While I don't believe in a lot of the things the Canadian government is doing in Canada, I have to admit that we are sure lucky to have our Medicare system. I hope everything goes well for her.

That must be very hard on her if she's still able to understand what's going on, because it's hard to let go of all your "stuff" that means so much to you. I didn't know that... She says she knew nothing about the Go Fund Me page that her best friend started in her name. In a late Sept. story, it was stated that the Fund eventually raised $195,000. It was also reported she was very embarrassed about the donations, but finally decided to use them after waffling back and forth about the matter. Apparently, she has to pay off medical bills and relocate to a smaller facility. Beyond her, it is sad that those early TV stars made next to nothing after their shows' original runs... Today's TV stars are far more fortunate than these early pioneers. They continue to bring in the BIG bucks years after their shows fold.
Rhonda Zambernardi it wasn't just TV Stars. Same was true in Hollywood for most earlier movie stars. They got paid when they made the film, but unless you were a big name star with a lot of negotiating power like Clark Cable that was when the pay day ended. The stars that did well bought property and made other investments.
I work next door to Wally's house. He has done well for himself after the show.
We would play like we were on Gilligan's Island when I was a little girl,and I would always want to be Mary Ann..Lol! I loved Gilligan's Island even if I was watching re-runs..Just like people say they just don't make them like that anymore..

I collect a lot of stuff and never thought about it much in my younger days, but I really need to get rid of a lot of it. Seeing all her random stuff from decades of accumulation drives the point home.

Great vlog Jordan! I didn't know that Mary Ann was hurt in a car accident, I would have thought that if she was hit by someone else that their insurance should have paid for her losses. While I don't believe in a lot of the things the Canadian government is doing in Canada, I have to
admit that we are sure lucky to have our Medicare system. I hope everything goes well for her.

Wow! That was some garage sale! I really was so surprised to see so much stuff that she had accumulated and that her family is letting go. That must be very hard on her if she's still able to understand what's going on, because it's hard to let go of all your "stuff" that means so much to you. That will be my daughters in a few years with all my Elvis collection. sigh.....
