Critically acclaimed musician Ted Yoder is widely considered “the Bela Fleck of the hammered dulcimer." Ted is a National Hammered Dulcimer champion. He’s released five beloved and critically acclaimed solo albums, and become a master educator of the instrument.
Ted has been profiled in the Kearney Hub, Huffington Post, and on NPR’s All Things Considered show, among many other features, profiles, and reviews in regional and
national tastemaking outlets. On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Ted became something of a household name when a Facebook Live video of him from his Live From The Orchard series playing Tears For Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” went viral. The video rocketed up to 53 million views in four days

I'm a musician myself, and am super critical of not only my production, but of others as well. I have no reason to lie... it's the internet. Everyone can be as big a prick as they feel is necessary. Brutal honesty, and even malice. That's what being an artist is all about.
That being said...
You sir, are amazing. You need a publicist or someone marketing you. These videos should have way more likes, and frankly, I'd PAY to meet the ONE person that hit the "thumbs down" button up there. It was either a cat running across a keyboard, or someone who suffers from tremors, hit it by accident.
Get noticed man. Get paired up with someone. Duos are cool these days. Find a unique drummer, and see what happens. Bottom line, I'd pay to see you, if you were touring the midwest. I understand you've got a family, and life is all about priorities. No one could ever fault you for choosing your family over the road... but seriously... you get representation, and start touring, people are going to eat you up. You've got an amazing talent, on an obscure instrument.
The fact that this video was posted 5 years ago, and I'm JUST now seeing it, is criminal. You are fantastic in your craft, and I hope you choose to go big with it. Maybe once the little ones are off to college?... ;-)
wow crazy i remember this being my favorite video you did. i listened to this 8 years ago while I was in college. My physics professor played the hammered dulcimer and I liked the sound 😆 so I found you on UA-cam.
I am glad to see you are still doing well and happy the rest of the world 50 million views strong were able to witness your musical talents!
I was listening to relaxation music to fall asleep and all of a sudden "Ted Yoder" popped into my mind. Haven't seen one of your videos in years. 5 videos later, now 1107 in Hawaii and I'm still not asleep lol so much for the relaxation music. yours is better anyway!
I cried with pleasure.
Wow, made me smile big time!
This one has a crisper tone..suspect it may mellow as the woods age. I truly enjoy listening this instrument.
Another song I love (one of my favorites), played like no other ❤
Thank you. I probably don’t play this enough.
Another BRILLIANT rendition of yourself! You keep out doing yourself and driving us out of our minds 🤩

This version would've been perfect in the BEE movie! 🖒🖒🖒
Love the sound...never saw this instrument before. I saw you on Inside Edition...really incredible!
Thank you Mr. Ted Yoder for sharing your gift and dedication.
I am so thrilled to have found this man's channel. Music is so amazing and his talent is too!
p.s. I have a lot of catching up to do...you have so much content uploaded!
Thank you. I’m trying to slowly clean up my channel a bit with newer content but not cover up where I’ve come from either.
Well done Sir! I love the crisp bright sound on this one!

Keep the Beatles tunes comin'. LOVE!
So beautiful! Part of me wants to learn how to play
Liked, subscribed and already sharing your videos after seeing a video on Facebook. What a wonderful sound. Looking forward to hearing more. 😊
Great playing Ted 👏👏👏👏
I discovered Ted Yoder today, and since I love to play piano and drums but cannot grasp the guitar- I think the hammered dulcimer could be the best of both worlds! Thank you Ted Yoder! P.S. Is it hard to tune and re-string this?
Incredible sound! Really amazing to listen to!
Excelente!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Wonderful to listen during the Amish Acres 'craft festival, the Beatles tunes and Hotel California are my favorites, his booth was right behind the one I was at so it was very nice to hear, his music transported me to a magical place.
My hammered dulcimer was stolen while I lived in california, my husband bought it when we were married and he since has passed in 1997 he was 49. Also my 6 and 12 strings guitar were stolen . All since have passed. Would like to know where I can get another hammered dulcimer reasonably priced. Thank you
Amazing!
Awesome, I like it.
Ugh I love this it's so beautiful❤️
Loved it!
NICE
Nice song on the dulcimer.. Your dulcimer looks like a Russell Cook from MasterWorks.. I have a Russell Cook 16-15c.
+777tsalagi Yes this is the one I won for the national championship. It's a RCE. Beautiful instruments aren't they? 😁
Yes it is a very beautiful instrument. I haven't tried it with the Dampers. when I asked about them Russell said i would have to mail my instrument in for them to add the Dampers, so I just decided not to bother with it.
I am trying to find some O'Carolan tunes but every song I look up I can't find it. Do you know where I can find these types of tunes. I looked up all 18 songs and couldn't find any of them..Is there an O'Carolan book somewhere that has that style of songs? Thank you.
+777tsalagi Have you tried searching for just an O'Caroline book? I know they're out there. I used to have one.
yes I found one book so far not one song in it was on my list..LOL. i'll keep looking. thank you.
You should definitely do Sandstorm
+Andrew Grieco are u saying that he has no choice he has to do it?
...did the dulcimer have a hangover?
I thought I heard you say on one of your Videos you played a concert in Wausau? Where do you live, in Wisconsin? Just asking so we might catch you in concert sometime.....
I don't think I played in Wausau but I've played in Green Bay and northern WI. My mom lives up there in the north woods. She wants me to come up again and play. It's been quite a few years since I've toured up there. If you follow me on bandsintown you can find out where I'm going next easily.
We also live in the North Woods. Probably ran into your mom somewhere along the line. We live in St. Germain.......Thanks for the info......
Candle in the Wind, by Elton John, Bernie Taupin ???
any floyd songs?
Does anyone know what song he's playing at the beginning?
I was just noodling around on something. No Song in particular.
How long did it take you to learn this
Not sure I remember but most songs take a month or so depending on how intense they are. This one was probably a week just because I really focused on it.
I think we're alone now
Always just beautifully out of tune. 🤗
