Very educational. Didn't know tractors needed them but makes sense. Now I know why lots of those funny videos they have tractors tipping. Hahaha.
Very cool. Another great video. So wonderful that you almost reach 1000 subscribers. Very happy for you.

Hey Patty! Good to hear from you. On my tractor if I don't have anything on back the tires will actually come off of the ground when using the loader. I have the back tires filled with liquid and that helps a little. I'm excited for 1000! Thank you!

My brush hog is my ballast box.

That’s a great ballast. I had to get this because I’m frequently in tight spots near houses, pools, or in the woods. It doesn’t hang out as far or as wide as the box blade or brush hog and so far has worked out great.

You should have put gold bars in about 3/4 of the way then filled the rest of the way with concrete. Gold is way denser than concrete.
Like so many cheap things out there, they can be improved quickly without a ton of work.
I kicked out the rear wheels on my harbor freight cement mixer so that the motor quit trying to tip it over on me while I rolled it around (I'm a bit taller than the intended user maybe) it's solid now. Would like to lift it too or do something like you did to get a wheelbarrow under it. I've only run 3 pallets worth of 80 lb Quikrete through mine so far. I like how yours is holding up, maybe you should do a review, just a thought.

You're right, I didn't put gold bars in so my ballast slab is going to crack and need to be replaced in 100 years haha Those wheels were so frustrating. Mine actually bent from the rocking of the mixer. The were complete pieces of garbage. It's holding up very well, i'm surprised! That's a great idea, I could link the large pad I did as a torture test. You might be seeing that soon!

Jon as they say film everything.
You not only are a story teller but you educate others.
Before today I had not thought of adding balance to a tractor. I understand now it is a good thing!
But I noticed tubes in the box and you said you over bought concrete I wonder if that may have been the reason? Or inside dimentions and out side may be off or tapered?
You also said you use a harbor freight paint gun? Can you show a video on how they work.
You said you used tractor supply paints and again how is tractor supply paint different than a paint one picks up at a big box store?

      I'll keep that in mind!
Ballast is definitely important especially when doing loader work. It makes it safer overall to keep the weight evenly distributed when lifting heavy loads.
I measured the tubes, and they do take away a little, but not a whole bag!
That would've been a great video for the sprayer. It works great I love it. I'll keep this in mind the next time I paint something with it.
The tractor supply paint that I use sometimes is Majic oil based enamel paint. I have some things that sit outside that I painted over 10 years ago and it still looks as good as the day I painted it.
Thanks for checking out my video!

You may have been short on the volume estimate of how many bags to fill if you did not subtract the volume off of the two tubes you did not fill. Good you didn't fill those. Now you have a convenient place to throw a shovel, rake, or loppers. The 500 lbs plus the Quick Hitch should certainly help stabilize against a heavy load in the FEL. Just have to be careful as that 575 lbs is close in the center of gravity of the tractor being on your 3-pt hitch and not further away like it would be if it was an implement sticking out further.

It’s been a while since I’ve did this but your probably right! I use this thing all the time and love the fact that it adds ballast without hanging out on the sides or back. It’s great for close quarters work. Thank you for checking out my video.

Thanks! So far the paint has held up excellent, better than what it came with I think.
