Something I really enjoyed from this game was the atmosphere it set (specifically Wake Island and Guadalcanal). I don’t know why but I loved the calming nature of certain areas with the blue ocean, green grass, and clear skies. If there wasn’t a war going on, it would be the ideal place to take a nap in a hammock while drinking a nice, cold tropical drink
BF 1943 needs a remaster I loved that game back on my PS3

My dad loved this game, he was in the top 100 players back in his prime lol. He would only fly planes and he was a boss, loved reading the messages he would get from salty players.

Battlefield 5 is basically now but with a WW2 skin on. Women in infantry, tanks that function like mbt’s, calling in ballistic rockets on the battlefield.
Even if it's just the basics of Battlefield, it managed something amazing and that was just being a fun game. No ranking system to level a character and unlock certain guns, all vehicles are on the same level. It was the perfect idea of "balance". Plus having the unlimited ammo helped make the game just that much faster and not have to worry about a tank slapping you without a chance to defend yourself.

This was my first BF game....I played it a lot when my kids were younger....of course they played better than dad but I still enjoyed it.
Battlefield V feels more like something out of a science-fiction novel than WWII.

BF V is like fictional conflict with WWII inspiration of guns and vehicles there is no emblems etc on uniforms which looks strange especially on Germans uniformsno eagle with swastika no swastika flag and womans on both side i dont have anything against womans as long as is not forced because of political corretnes it will be ok with russian army or some kind of underground ressistance but not in official army especially on Germany side all those inaccurate things destroy immersion

Honestly I hate the complains that BfV doesnt feel like a true WW2 game, because they go for the lesser known conflicts... If BfV actually had all those iconic battles (Stalingrad, D-Day, etc) Iam 100% sure everyone would complain aswell! Why? Because than everyone would say "Iam tired of seeing the same battles over and over again" or "We have seen all those battles since CoD 1, DICE could be more creative on maps and locations" etc... People are always upset ^^

Give people a realistic and historicaly accurate WW2 game like Post-Scriptum or Red Orchestra, and people will complain about that game "too difficult". They want realism and history but they still want to jump out of a plane to rocket kill the second plane and then jump back to their plane to finaly eject behind ennemy lines and cap the point. 100% accurate.
Oh and don't give them WW1 game with only self loading rifle, because that will be too boring. They need semi-automatic pistols or submachin gun as the hellriegel which never pass the prototype step.
I think the real reason it's because it became fashion to hate EA for everything they're doing.

A Battlefield 2143 or 2142 remaster won't happen because EA has the Titanfall series, Star Wars Battlefront series, and the upcoming Anthem as futuristic shooters. Another futuristic Battlefield game would make no sense to EA because they have flagship products to fill that need.
Besides, Battlefield is better off not having another futuristic game. Especially in this day and age where games at launch don't have enough content, constant bugs and glitches, microtransactions, etc.

On 9th of April 1940 the Germans Gebirgsjägers landed at Narvik and took over it, ceasing two Norwegian Patrol boats. More German boats landed around Navik to capture "Norwegian Forts" but they were non existent, by the evening the Flotilla was going back to Germany, leaving their soldiers in Narvik and around it. On the 8th of April the Royal Navy tried to take on the Kreigsmarine, but was deemed unsuccessful, and on the 9th one British artillery ship attacked two German battleships, causing light damage to one of the ships. On the 9th of June the assault was happening, by then two naval Battles had happened around Navik. Battle of Narvik played a big role in the early years of WW2, And its a battle mostly forgotten.

The trick with sniping in this game is when you body shot someone at any range, just tag them with your pistol (there's no bullet drop) so you can just get that quick double tap.

I still believe that the Battlefield game we should have received was to be Battlefield 1944 instead of BFV with all the major operations from that year: Operation Bagration, Overlord, Market Garden and culminating with the Ardennes Offensive.

A $15 game that I enjoyed more intensely than any of the latest BF games the past few years. EA makes these games so over complicated when all people really want is just a map and two teams to conquest it out, with very minimal structure.

the amount of throw away psn accounts i made in order to play this game for a limited time each acc was countkess. Thanks for the memories, this and the vietnam add-on to bad company 2 were a nice touch wish the could add the same depth to BFV.
Honestly, I kinda like the style of BFV. Seeing something different than the "classic" WWII experience.
But that's just it. It isn't WW2. Different experience isn't bad, but what they sold isn't any form of WW2 experience. It's even hard to experience it sometimes.

BF 1942 was still their best WW2 game even though the Frostbite engine with environmental destruction didn't exist at the time.

That game was my first Battlefield game on console back in Xbox 360. At the time, I was playing COD Black Ops 1 and World at War which are both great cod imo.
That game was only on console as the BF1942 was only on PC back then.
I love playing this game I was surprised they made is backward compatible for Xbox1. And was even more surprised like you said has a good active player base. I just hope maybe for the next Battlefield they make a Vietnam theme

I remember playing this and battlefield heroes religiously when I was younger. those 2 are very similar except you have a lot more options in battlefield heroes when it comes to weapons.

This game came out right around the time of cod world at war, so battlefield really stepped it up development wise.
Before that I watched the Mortal Kombat 11 Revale stream and now I hear the Sountrack here 😂😂
I think this game has the same reputation as The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. This will never be beat for a World War game, people still play it and I play it still after 10 years, it’s a classic. But there are games now that have the same reputation like God of War, Breath of The Wild and others
