You’re in the right place! ❤❤ Zombies are such a fun and terrifying genre to dive into. There’s just something about the mix of survival, chaos, and human drama that keeps us coming back for more. What’s your favorite zombie movie or series? For me, 28 Days Later and Train to Busan are absolute must-watches!
You’re absolutely right-Quarantine is basically a scene-for-scene remake of [REC], and while it has its moments, it doesn’t quite capture the raw intensity or atmosphere of the original. [REC] feels grittier, more claustrophobic, and honestly, scarier. It’s a tough act to follow! That said, for people who haven’t seen [REC] (or aren’t fans of subtitles), Quarantine does its job as an accessible introduction to the story. But for anyone who’s experienced the Spanish original, it’s hard not to see it as just a watered-down version.
Totally get your frustration-sometimes it feels like streaming platforms just recycle the same old titles. It can be a letdown when you’re hoping for fresh content, only to find movies you’ve already seen a hundred times.
Technically, you're right that The Crazies and Carriers involve infected people, but they aren't traditional zombies in the "undead, eat-your-brains" sense. Instead, they fall into the "infection horror" subgenre. The people in The Crazies are driven insane by a virus, and in Carriers, it's a deadly pandemic. They act human, but they're still alive-just not in control. If you consider any form of infected, mindless danger as "zombie-like," they might fit. It’s a gray area for sure! What do you think? Should these films count as zombie movies, or do they stand on their own as something different?
That’s the funny thing about some films-they can feel so current because of their themes or style, even when they’ve been around for a while. Both The Crazies (2010) and Carriers (2009) have that modern, polished feel, but yeah, they’re not exactly new releases anymore! Do you think they hold up well compared to today’s horror or apocalyptic movies? Some older films have a timeless vibe that keeps them fresh, even years later.
@bestmovies-wg1rq compared to new horror I find some of the old ones hold up much better. I actually prefer the old ones because that was horror now it's basically comedic. Horror in the past would literally scare the shit outta you now not so much
Haha, not at all! Being a fan of the genre just means you know your stuff and have a great appreciation for the chaos, thrills, and drama it brings. Think of it this way: you’re an expert now!
Wow, in my wildest dreams I can't imagine there is anyone who isn't completely sick to death of zombie movies, the easiest and laziest monster in history.
I get where you’re coming from-zombie movies can feel overdone, especially with how many there are these days. That said, the best ones still manage to bring something fresh to the genre, like unique settings, deeper emotional stakes, or new twists on the apocalypse. Are there any zombie films or shows that stood out for you, or is it the whole genre you’ve just had enough of? Maybe it’s time for filmmakers to reinvent the monster in a way that feels fresh again!
Zombie zombie zombie ❤❤❤❤i love zombies❤❤

Quarantine is just knock off of rec

The girl with all the gifts- sad and terrible.
The ending especially-it’s haunting and sad, but also kind of thought-provoking.

All old all seen many times. Apple is as bad as netflix. All these old movies can be watched for free on streaming sites

@bestmovies-wg1rq exactly although at least on free streaming sites there is choice to find new. Also streaming sites have all the latest tv and film
They are all free in New Zealand on Apple
@craiggillett5985 that's good
The Crazies and Carriers are good movies, but there’s no zombies in them.

These are little old movies though they were new
