Yes, I have 3+ months of emergency food stored in my little van. If that runs out my campground owners have some turkeys and chickens within a few feet of me that look mighty tasty. They even have delivery service with some roosters and guinea hens that come right to me every day!
😂🤣😂
So happy to see you have the main ingredients needed for preparedness, the Lord, teamwork, and a common goal amongst many others. I have seen you both grow in your relationship so much and I'm so proud of you both. The life brought to your daughter is amazing. Praise God in all things.
If you eat the right foods you only need to eat once a day!
Get away from sugar and processed foods and hunger goes away.
Carbs make you hungry.
Very true!
What are the "right" foods
@@ssds1991
Excellent q.
Your body is different from mine.
I thrive on plenty of animal protein, with few vegetables and almost zero fruit.
Fresh, local, seasonal, organic.
.
Zero root vegetables -- potatoes, carrots, etcetera have too much sugar for my liver.
.
Zero grains, no corn.
Oatmeal prepared with vinegar and lime juice, mixed with seasoned ground meat as a 'haggis'.
@@ssds1991
All I eat is beef and chicken.
Pretty much a carnivore diet.
If it’s in a box don’t eat it.
I’m not a strict carnivore but I do my best and have reversed health issues.
I’m 61 and in better health than in my 40s.
Of course time does work on your mind.
Last few years I’ve noticed a difference with memory
Seeing you two smiling fills me with joy. Stay safe and have fun😊 God has your 6.
Thank you and God bless you🙏❤️
That's just some of what we have...SPAM, Corned Beef Hash & TONS of Chef Boyardee. Not to mention buckets of rice, freeze dried food, canned goods and so on. Have fun and be safe.
Instead of bug out bags.....make bug out buckets. Always use your prepper sense people. Prepping is the solution, not the problem. Yes, you need a constant source for water. Freeze dried food does not work without water. Great video.
Depending on your location, can always add fresh fish - fishing poles 😂 if able to catch is always an addition to stored food
Watch out for the two legged animals👍🏻🇺🇲
You know, this video makes the want to ask... have you considered a substantial garden at the resort? Corn.... yum! All sorts of leafy vegies, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes... as a kid and early adult, I loved planting and tending and benefiting from a big garden. Regardless,,,, happy travels!
We’re building a beautiful garden😀
One RV couple got something that will slow you to cook without power. It's called a solar stove. Collapse down for storage.
I think we would all do well to start gardening and preserving again. I grew up working in the garden and helping my mom can and freeze fruits and vegetables.
So a few day's before the Houston Twister FEMA showed up at one of my properties demanding to see my food supply. They searched the property and found nothing. I explained to them over the phone that I owned an 501c3 (Non-Profit) that assists other 501c3's with disaster assistance. Pay for your supplies in cash. Be extremely careful in how much you buy at once. Just some friendly advise. BTW I have 2 years of food supply (Patriot Supply) Around five thousand dollars worth.
Good to prepair
Why did they want to see it? Did they have a warrant? What?
@@TodaysBibleTruth They are looking for hoarders. There was no warrant. They don't need warrants within 90 day's of a declared disaster in that area or region. The information they used was from a credit card purchase in 2017. We bought 4 truckloads and 20 truckloads of water. They did get some pushback from the internal revenue service. It's stopped now after Houston.
@@jeffharwood624 Thanks for that information. That is crazy.

2003, we built our ExpeditionVehicle on a 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck.
GVWR -- 29,000#.
Weight across the scale -- 14,000#.
Cargo capacity -- about seven ton.
.
Our first modification was adding a 140-gallon 'saddle-tank', supplementing the factory 50-gallon, giving 190-gallons of diesel on the rig.
.
On the toy-hauler I fabricated on a similar commercial chassis, I mounted an additional 120-gallon fuel tank.
.
In theory, our range without re-fill is Anchorage-to-Acapulco.
We prefer acquiring fuel on low-tax regions.
.
May 2024 traveling through California, we saw diesel for us$7.12.9 a gallon.
Oregon a week earlier, we paid us$3.57.9 a gallon.
Two years ago, we made the the decision to invest in a Harvest Right freeze dryer. We buy stuff on sale and bring it home and freeze dry it and pack it away. For the future. We've done pot roast, chilli, veggies, fruit and even candy for the occasional sweet tooth. It's been with the investment.

* Have twice the oil than you think you need.
We always have an extra bin of food in our RV. It doesn't matter if we go away for the weekend or a month, I'm prepping extra food.
Nice!
Very simple food storage--learn how to sprout seeds and beans. You can grow fresh food in your own kitchen. It takes time to learn this. Start now.
I agree. One tablespoon of broccoli seeds grows into 1 cup of fresh sprouts in a few days in a jar. One cup of sprouts has the same nutrition as 10 cups of broccoli. I add them to smoothies, salads, stirfry, etc.
Freeze-dried is where it’s at. John, I love your enthusiasm!

Hello from Spam town! We love it, and always take it camping with potatoes and eggs. God bless you guys.
Easy food preservation, for what you store in buckets: dry ice! What degrades food like rice, wheat, beans, nuts, pasta, etc. in buckets is oxygen. Small bugs or worms could also come out from hidden eggs. To protect contents, many will spend lots on "oxygen absorber" packets. But they're expensive, they take up space, and they're not reusable. What works instead is using dry ice, available at most supermarkets. First, in your clean, empty bucket, drop a quarter- to half-pound chunk into the bucket. Then pour all the beans, grains, or whatever in, as much as you want, right on top. (If the food came in plastic bags, it needs dumped out loose for this to work.) Now put the lid on slightly loosely, but NOT tight (or your tub will explode!). What happens now is that the dry ice sublimates and expands, turning into carbon dioxide gas. The expanding CO2 will, from the bottom, drive out almost all of the oxygen-contain air in the bucket through the crack you've left in the opening. In about four or five hours, confirm that no more air is escaping, and then seal the lid tightly the rest of the way. (If you subsequently notice any swelling in the container, crack the led for a second to release the pressure, and then reseal it.) Foods protected this way should keep safely for many years.
All you need is the most ammo or bow and arrow. That way you will always have food.
Don't let John open the RV cupboard with the eggs again. 🥚🥚
I keep trying to make people aware of what might happen…they laugh! It’s closer than we ever imagined…they’re not understanding because of information they learn about. 🤷♀️

Great video! Thank you.
I didn't see a link for the buckets. Where did you get them?
Great message. Fully believe in this strategy. Here - huge issue will be water. Where will you get it and how will you sanitize it? Also, these are literally not a million. Places to store things in a RV. Not when a hundred. We have a bus conversion and don’t have that space either.
Exactly right , also it’s hurricane season too stock up.
I love the gamma seal buckets also for stocking and storing food. However, they are NOT rodent proof. If you look it up on Google you will find that rodents can and will chew through the plastic 5 gallon buckets.
Good info… except mice and rats certainly do chew through these buckets! Off road preppers know well the best container to store food while protecting from critters is glass jars. We can and/or store as much as possible in jars. Not a solution for RVrs though.
I use❤👍 REDMOND SALT. 💁♀️ #1
I love you guy’s!
I learned something new yesterday.
The plural of "guy's" is guyses.
Used in a sentence:
* "You guyses make a lot of sense!"
Really good info! The prepackged products are incredibly expensive! Most people are not aware how easily food items can get wiped out. Just rember, we can go a lot longer without food than clean water! Be well and thanks!
The Mormon Church of latter-day saints LDS has approximately 100 locations in the united states that you can purchase food. Look up LDS Home Storage Center and see if you might be near one. They sell staple dehydrated foods. They are not pre-cooked. They carry several kinds of dried beans, rice, sugar, flour, wheat berries, potato flakes, macaroni, dehydrated onions, dehydrated carrots, dehydrated apple slices, and a few other items. All sealed up in the metal cans, they are rodent proof, pest-proof, and waterproof. Extremely reasonable shipping charges if you do not find a location near you. Most of the food items will last for 30 years. If you go to the store you can buy the individual cans, and almost every single item is $10 or less. If you mail order the items they will come 6 gallon cans to a case. these items are easy to store pretty much anywhere and will last a very long time. they also sell instant dried milk and a very good hot cocoa mix, both of these items are in mylar bags. I highly recommend it to everyone for stocking up. You do not have to be a Mormon and the people there are very happy to help you with your purchase.
Oh I love corned beef hash too. Freeze dryer would be a good investment on your homestead too. You cans make all kinds of fruits and veg to powder for sauces and flavorings.
Great idea!!
:) THANKS MUCH for sharing! WELL DONE and will have to get my Buckets in order :) TAKE care and ENJOY!! Cheers :)
All of these are good ideas. The next level is to vacuum seal with nitrogen gas at 3 atmospheres. It's simple.
Awesome! I think like u guys. Lol. Thank you. 👋😉. 🌈
Love it. My huge concern is water. All of these food items require water to rehydrate. I guess saving on weight with the freeze dried foods will require you to use that saved weight for all of that water you'll need. Unless you are boondocking by a river.
I use a gravity water filter. I have been feeding it lake water all week. Since I like to travel, I purchased ceramic filters. They do not need to be primed.
With freeze dried food you need to ensure you have access to potable water for cooking.
1,500 calories a day? I eat that much in one sandwich!! I had better start stocking up!!!! Thanks guys! LOVE your videos, and always great advice!
Agreed.
Absurd, ridiculous minimums.
We workkamp a small organic teaching farm near the outskirts of Eugene, Oregon.
During a twelve-hour work-day, I can burn through 12,000 (twelve thousand) calories.
This mandates nutrient-dense foods, instead of packaged GMO flavored with petroleum-based pesticides.
.
I also drink water by the gallon.
Irregardless of weather, I aim to drink two gallons of water daily.
.
Generic lists are merely a place to start.
As Real-World Real-Time experience is gained for individual bodies, those starter lists can evolve into something personal.
@@largemarge1603 Exactly! I can burn through 1,500 calories in one sitting with a good book.

I ordered a 5 wand wide grow light from Amazon to raise some potatoes in the house.
I have no land or balcony, but I can put some herbs and some grow bags on a table and grow with my inside light. Theres a 4 in 1 device that will tell you when to water, your PH soil level, etc that I also ordered. My apartment out of state had land for gardening, and I miss it.

We have 6 a months supply for a family of 4 in our RV. We have plans to keep expanding our supply because we still have plenty of room. Not going to advertise which company it is but it's one of those well known companies that sells this type of food. Yes, we have water filtration and all those other "things" as well. Goes along with a 48 gal diesel tank and 100 gal of reserve inside the bed...always full!
Your eggs aren't free. You most likely feed them some type of store bought food. But it sure is better for you! Gamma lids storage cans are great.
Tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. can take out utilities. Be prepared. Don't store anything in a warm area.

For all the food preppers out there. One question I always had before considering the options is what if your scenario plays out and it gets much worse months down the road? And the supplies you bought are depleted and there are none left hence the reason why you bought the original supplies early. Then what? Is it the reason that you extended your life a few months longer in this mess than others being the point in all this? Just posing it out there for any who has considered what life will be like when these supplies run out and things do not improve.

I have looked at our local Walmart and they don’t have the buckets.
Google food safe buckets with sealable lids. Many places have them.
I remember as a child with my mother; helping my grandmother pick her potatoes. They told me that the old folks were always released to get the potatoes in the cellar. It meant that whatever else happened or didn't happen the family was not going to starve. My grand mother was born in 1907. There was no welfare or food banks, they had what they could grow or buy.

They offer dozens of sizes, free shipped to your local store.

b) Eugene, Oregon.

c) We owned a restaurant business for ten years.
After cleaning, we sold our used buckets next to the register.
Have you found a good sealable SQUARE bucket? They store more efficiently.

Based on our experience, fat fails to dehydrate completely.
Otherwise, we would have half our pantry as *BACON*.

REMEMBER A CAN OPENER! Cans are worthless without one. Have three as in a backup and a backup to your backup. The will dull or wear out. Be sure to clean the blade. A can opener can be the filthiest inch in your home.
@missi,
Lacking a can-opener, rub the seam on concrete or a flat rock.
The lid peels right off.

Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
I wouldn't admit to it now lest someone might come take it away!
