It’s everywhere and it’s men like these that most likely raise children that assault other citizens. The apple doesn’t fall far.

It was the fifties, btw, when property owning families like mine began to abandon homes they deemed worthless and let them go for back taxes.

No city wants East Cleveland added to their piles of obligations. Cleveland Heights doesnt need such problems. Certainly Cleveland doesn't want to take it on. The federal government needs to step in, as it did in California many years ago when it took over from a vile corrupt lttle town somewhere near LA. Meanwhile , they need to do it again with Vallejo, which crooked cops have made into a cesspool.

East Cleveland got ruined by a mayor who let things get out of hand and having an ignorant police chief like Scott Garner didn't help.

East Cleveland been bad since i was little in the 90s and Im originally from EC... If you wanna know where it went wrong you gotta go wayyyy back to when things first started getting bad back in the 70s. I hope that some billionaires can come and fix up home but until then its not gonna get better. Im glad i moved from home but EC will always be home no matter how it look

East Cleveland needs to be merged into Cleveland. There is no way it can stand as an independent municipality anymore. In fact, Cuyahoga County should take full advantage of having full county government rule, like counties in Virginia and Maryland do. I lived in Suburban Maryland for over 20 years, and both Montgomery and Prince George's Counties generally provide all major services to residents of the county. Only a couple of communities have their own government (like Rockville and Gaithersburg). The county council pretty much is the government of those counties. Cities like Silver Spring are just Zip codes, all they have are seats on the county council. There is no sane reason Cuyahoga County needs to have 54 separate municipalities, other than the officeholders want to keep on holding their positions, and collecting their salaries. Same goes for Summit County as well.
