  • Clear water fishing is easy! Sure, the fish can see you, but that doesn't mean they won't bite! The key to fishing clear water is focusing on the extremes. While most anglers tend to target clear water fish with micro baits and light line, you can also catch them on big baits!
    Don't be intimidated by clear water. Once you learn to drop down in line size, or up in bait size, you won't have any trouble getting bit. The keys to consistency are long casts and slow movements on the boat. With a little practice, you'll be catching fish with ease, even when they see you.
    Below you'll find links to the exact baits the guys were fishing with today. We've included the exact sizes, colors, and rigging components for each, along with some of the big baits that Tim was talking about for fishing at the other end of the spectrum. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

    I love the challenge of catchin em in gin clear water . We've got Melton Hill Lake here in Knoxville and it's definitely the highest amount of vis around here . The lake is absolutely full of all the traditional grass Bass fisherman encounter . With that said , the lake is always super filtered . When I know I'll be fishing the Hill , I never leave home without my 7'3 Medium laced up with 5 lb . Fluro and my Marabou jigs I tie up . I've seen guys spook these bronze fish with a 2.8 Keitech on a 1/8 oz ballhead and turn around and catch those same spooked fish with the bou jigs . They have a hard time saying no to the hair lol ... Great video as always gentlemen !!!

    Here in Northern Michigan ALL the lakes are pristine and clear . We do allot of drift fishing , I pull a weedless craw or pink worm along the bottom . Sometimes I wacky rig the the worm . My wife uses straight up bobber and night crawler . In clear calm water I would be trying a top water bait like a plopper or a buzz bait . Look for bites along the edges on drop off and drift across the flats .

    Great video guys as always. I have been watching you since Spring of last year up here in Ontario Canada. Got me so excited to get back to bass fishing and made the monster investment in a brand new Fish and Ski boat that I took delivery this year and set up as a bass fishing boat! The main clear lake up here is Lake Simcoe and the smallies are big and hit everything you talk about. Thanks for all the great info that has rebuilt my knowledge and my bass fishing gear arsenal of specialty rods, reels, line, and hard and soft baits!

      Where do you fish in simcoe? Any key spots?

    • @peterhing3608
      @peterhing3608 2 роки тому +1

      @@cesargandia2606 HAHA That's a good one man. Any key spots. No good fishermen gives up their key spots, but I can say this, if you set up your boat like a bass boat like the Pro's and like Tim and Matt have and invest in a good set up for a bass boat or a fish and ski boat, you will find great spots on your own. That is what I am currently doing on my own as no one has helped me. I run a full Garmin Set up that I invested and installed all on my own to save the few thousands they wanted for install. 3 Echomaps, Livescope Plus and the "Force" baby! For Simcoe, it depends on what species you are after. For Largemouth fish Cook's Bay where the weeds and drop offs are. For Smallies, fish the main lake from off shore to the big rock flats. Hope that helps and have fun just driving your boat around using your graphs/chart plotters.

    Living in a reduced visibility water clarity region I enjoy the challenge and beauty of a clear water fishery and it has become my favorite lake. BUT flowing clear water is the best of the best IMO.

    I love fishing crystal clear water, my old home lake in Ohio was fun clear. I watched many people struggle & never come back. I caught them all the time. # 1 I'm a kayak angler so I have a small presence & being extremely quiet & stealthy was always key! I still practice that anywhere I fish. Making long casts too & fishing natural colors. I could catch them cranking & on spinner baits if I burned them & I had some wind or cloud's, same with big swimbaits. Now living in southern SC we do have some clear resivours on the Savannah river chain or lower end of Murray but my old lake was clear as it gets. I do miss that lake but the bass are soooo much bigger down here. It was well worth the move for fishing. Plus I can kayak fish all year now comfortably!

    cool vid, guys. I haven’t fished freshwater that clear, but ‘leading’ tw fish reminds me so much of Snook fishing in FL. It’s one of my fav type fishing. Great point about those Smallies getting spooked easily. I know it’s much different now than earlier in yr when they’re protecting a bed. That’s much easier. lol

    Another amazing video, I do have a question about what line to use.
    The rod & reel combo is :
    intenza 7’0” ML & nasci 2500.
    I’ve watched past videos and belive using braid as the main line ( prower pro spectra 15lb ) to a leader line ( sunline super fc sniper 7lb ) should grant me the most sensitivity? In todays video, both spinning combos are only using ( sunline super fc sniper ). Does this reduce sensitivity, I understand the goal is not have the fish see the line.

      the way its checked in ponds to manage the fertility of the water is with a 1/2 white and 1/2 black circle on a yard stick, wherever you stop seeing white contrasted against the 1/4 sections of black, that is the water visibility/fertility. So yeah, a pure white bait should work fine. I would give it an extra 2 or 3 feet passed where ever you stop seeing your bait if youre going to be tying leaders longer than your water vis. goodluck out there dude.

      @@richardbossman9875 oh, your a banker. Ok, I wouldn't be too concerned about exact depth of water clarity. The way I do it from the bank: "Is the water normal or dirty?" If it's dirty I throw dark colors. If it's normal I throw natural colors.
