I work as a tech for a VW shop... your part number search was awesome... helped me out... NO LIE THAT AXLE IS NRAR IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND... not easy to put back in.... completely remove the shock unbolting the upper shock mount 1 18mm bolt and 1 18mm nut... get that out of the way

GSP makes a cv axle with a lifetime warranty for $95 on rockauto. It says that it only fits the right but thats incorrect it fits both sides.

Very helpful, thanks! I am replacing the driver side inner cv boot of my 2003 EVC. Removed axle, repacked joint and replaced boot. I am trying to get the axle back into space to attach to tranny. Having a very difficult time. Cannot seem to get enough space to fit if back in place. Any tricks you can share?
Torsion adjustment? Lift support in a certain area? Sounds silly but I cannot get the damn thing back in… thanks

As I recall, the 6 axle bolts are to be replaced after each use. They stretch when tightened and can be used only once. Would have to double check the Bentley manual (DVD) and see. I think I paid another $8 or $10 for each one.
