No they won't melt if it's the one with handles and I've used mine in there no problem (check your manual to make sure as there might be differences between countries)
Mine is just the pot with the no handles, so I'm guessing the one with the handles would probably not fit correctly on my instant pot. But I've wondered if I could use my inside pot as just a big stock pot on my stove if I want to cook a bigger volume of something since I lost my biggest pot. I have the electric coil kind of stove.
Hi there, the pot with handles absolutely can be used on the stovetop (coil, gas and even induction). Unfortunately, if your is the model without handles, that one doesn't work on any stovetop. You can still use your instant pot to cook up stock though - either via pressure cooker or by using the saute function which works like a stovetop. I use mine to make marmalade that way.
I have the pro model and the handles hace what appears to be rubber or plastic on the handles. They won't melt in the oven?

@CookingandCalm I guess saute in order to get it up to temperature, followed by slow cook for the next day or so as long as that would work.
