I love my Eargasm earplugs. I feel like I can hear the music better and appreciate how the volume of the PA is hitting my chest without my ears buzzing.
Start taking care of your hearing like the pros! Protect your hearing at concerts, on tour, and in any loud environment with Eargasm Earplugs: bit.ly/3l6pX4b
i’ve been looking for some good earplugs for my nephew and i for download festival because i like to be up front in the crowd (i’m getting older and he’s a little sensitive to loud noises). having a pair that’s reasonable priced recommended by someone who actually works in the industry is pretty priceless, so thank you 😃 also my “all the metal” shirt shipped today. yay!
30+ years of working in power generation has cost me a good chunk of my hearing so y'all pay attention to Tank about this. OSHA recommends hearing protection for anything over 84dB, and a concert is way over 84dB.
I'm on my third set of custom made earplugs after 10 years and honestly I don't know what I would ever do without them. Ear protection is SO important. Feel a lot calmer after concerts or long nights, too. Just take em out and there will be silence
@@Evy-1988 Came here to say the same. As someone who goes to a lot of concerts, the investment in custom fitted hearing protection was on of the best decisions ever. The sound quality is so much better than with the cheaper options. Here in Germany it did cost me ~140€, and they're from Elacin.
I recently went to see Falling in Reverse, it was the first time I used the Eargasm plugs after your recommendation. They worked great, sound was excellent, plugs were comfortable and secure. I work construction and added them to my safety gear. Just wish I would’ve known about the discount 🤷♂️
My son plays bass in a metal band. I saw the Eargasm earplugs here and got him a pair. I wasn't sure if hed wear them but he loves them. I got him a case and he carries them with him everywhere.
Tank - can you maybe take us through the process of actually tech-ing a guitar? As in, someone from the band bought a guitar from a pawn shop and wants to play it on stage tonight - what do you do to it to get ready?
this is so rad as a total lay person. also, i just love your vinyl wall. it's looks so cool and it's a way to see your musical journey of the last 3 years.
For footwear, look at cop/emt boots 5"-6" high. Covers you ankles, sportive and designed to be used walked in for long period of time, solid black and hold up. Their are also sizes for women also who have a hard time finding good protective footwear. We have all had that road case roll up on our heal. BTW - where is the Sharpie?
When working in Sweden, people will think you're unprofessional and you could even be suspended for not wearing steeltoe shoes or hardhat when rigging is undergoing. But will all right, I'm thankful for the time my foot was driven over by a fork, the shoe crushed like a soda can but was not hurt at all. I learned to get ridiculously long phone cabel the hard way... Staying at this hotel in Norway, I could only plug it in at the far end of the room so I overslept my alarm and came late to showcall, colleagues reaction you think for your yourself, understandably though. So I'm always bringing 3-5m long cable from now on lol
You should get some custom guitar picks made up with your “Tank The Tech.” Logo, to give out to the “local” crew if they ask instead of giving out whatever band you are working for or maybe get some done up for your online store to sell plus it makes a good business card maybe boost views on your page by having your social media info on the picks also. But anyways, Tank you do an awesome job and I have had the pleasure to meeting you a few times and you are one of the awesome and Best Tech/Production guys out there….. congrats on all your successes and keep kicking ass! Take care and be safe out there…
Ear protection is so important, as a former working sound tech, and now a gig goer, ear protection is a must, even more so if you're towards the front, where the decibels can be crazy, even if you use the foam plugs, that's better than nothing. It's not worth taking the risk of damaging your hearing to get the "full unfiltered experience".
Yet another vote for a good set of in ear monitors or in ear headphones. I bought a pair from Jerry years ago when he owned Ultimate Ears and I keep buying them from JH Audio now. Great kit from a guy who knows what it’s like to listen to audio for a living in a dynamic environment.
Awesome video, love geeking out over gear. And 100% agree on the Polytune tuner, and the Music Nomad tools, cloths and brushes. All that stuff is solidly in my arsenal. And as you noted, I'm definitely a Fest Fret guy, but the width of that String Fuel is really nice compared to the Fast Fret, may have to check that out.
Tank, I have to praise you for your hearing protection agenda. There are so many stupid (yes TikTok, I am looking at you!) myths and misinformation about this subject. Damage to your hearing is permanent, and it is up to you to protect it.
Ahh the Peterson....I got that bad boy at home! Keeping the Ibanez RGA prestige and iron label tuned up.......when I play guitar, I'm more of a drummer.
Please make a video on how to fly with a guitar and rack gear. I’ve gotten away with it for a year but I always get so stressed and I want to know how other people are doing it that’s in this type of genre with things like axe fxs being checked for airplane luggage
I've been using Eargasm plugs since late 2017, and I can actually get a FOH mix started with them in. There's no other earplugs I've used that even come close to allowing me to do that, so you can guess how good they are when I'm just seeing a show. Also, Eargasm had a booth at winter NAMM in 2019, and they were super cool. Gave me a free cleaning kit! #notanad
Yeah! Shoutout CircleThree! You need a box just for gaff tape lol. Too bad they aren't coming to further eastern Canada. *Canadian Tour* Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver lol
Hey man, could you shed a light on different ways people become instrument techs? Do they go take trainings and get certificates on fixing guitars and stuff?
Really interesting to see how pros prepare for concerts! Hope you have a good time :) Recommendation for when you come back: Insomnium - Godforsaken. Video just dropped yesterday, imo the best track on the new album.
Tank, are those chemicals safe for all guitars? Guess the real question is will they react with nitro on a Gibson? Enjoy Powerwolf.. awesome live band!
You want to be only in black off stage, so logos and printing will make you more visible to the audience. If you do corporate event work, then we are in a black polo shirt.
Just wondered have u ever had the issue where u tune the guitar...and open strings it is fine but as soon as u do chords it just sounds off, I wondered what the fix is thanks
in my days off I have to stop wearing my work clothes.....I'm literally can enter any concert without anybody asking me any question.....this is sad, today I'm gonna buy myself a colored hawaian shirt.
Hey tank, since you were a drum tech! What kinds of stuff would you use or liked as a drum tech? I personally use Tama starclassic bubinga kits live, I've had the pearl reference kit in the past, but I use the sabian cymbals, used to have the zildjian Z customs....now defunct! Vater sticks, Tama iron cobra hardware too.
Hey Tank... Love the reactions, but I have to ask... is this you? You may have answered this before, so sorry about that. ua-cam.com/video/oELuR8BiRQk/v-deo.html Found it when UA-cam recomended videos after watching the Ivan Moody / show stopping to help a fan video.
"it's always better safe to be sorry" We need this quote on a shirt!

"Tank my Tech!" 🤣
Beat me to it
that’s what she said.
I would so wear that shirt😂
"Oh I'll Tank your Tech..."

but I see Eargasm does those too! Everybody: PLEASE do yourself a favor and invest in custom fitted ear protection.

Saw you at Worcester for Powerwolf! Yelled out Tank and you waved! Hell yeah awesome to see you there!
Snickers work pants with holster pockets instead of jeans. Game changer.

just bought tickets for the Powerwolf tour! can wait to see you guys!

Music Nomad for the win! Use their stuff on all my guitars at home. Fantastic stuff
I love my high fidelity earplugs. Honestly they make concerts so much more enjoyable, all the music magic with none of the ow
I will keep an eye out for you at the Denver show. 👀. Safe travels!
I thought was you I saw on stage last night!!! That was an amazing show and thank you for helping make it happen!
Love your videos thanks for posting them

Thanks Tank. Very informative 😃👍
Have a safe tour Tank!
To second what you second in the video eargasm ear plugs are a game changer and should be used for every concert
I have a feeling there are going to be some "interesting" comments on "Tank my Tech"! 😁😉
GHS Fast Fret.. man, that takes me back a bit hahaha. Hope you're having a great time out there man. Be safe!
thats the most badass haircut and beard combo I have ever seen. Viking vibes
Love to see some road diaries if you can!

POWERWOLF❤❤❤I have been fan girling on them and I haven’t done that since the 80’s and 90’s with Manowar.😢😢They only go to New York in the NE.
Have an great journey now on the tour, and nice to see what a rodie needes for they work..
It’s always safe to be sorry is unironically good advice as well 😅
Good stuff man
Saw you on stage tonight in Woostah!
Good luck on tour!
really awesome video tank :D hope the tour ghoes well
I nearly mistook your video for one of Network Chuck's but this was good stuff to learn.

Tank if it's a tour in a hot country do you take a mini fridge for your beer?😏

Interesting video, dude! Have fun on tour!
I didn't expect the Kelly "Shoes" clip 😅
Saved the black gaff tape for last, cleverly done, was about to lose my sh*t
Hey man, could you shed a light on different ways people become instrument techs? Do they go take trainings and get certificates on fixing guitars and stuff?
Does your big rig feature some fret/nut files, in case a guitar has issues there, or do you prefer to outsource that work to a luthier?
Hey put a Leatherman multi tool on your belt. 21:18
Funny thing is I have Yod on my back and the exact same Yggdrasil design on my thigh 😅
Do you particularly use or avoid any of the products based on guitar finish? I.e. satin vs gloss vs really thin open pore finishes?
Really interesting to see how pros prepare for concerts! Hope you have a good time :) Recommendation for when you come back: Insomnium - Godforsaken. Video just dropped yesterday, imo the best track on the new album.
9v batteries and cables is a must too
those are basically consumables (just like gaff tape) and are often in a box for the whole team
Feel there's any difference doing tech for a guitarist for just a few shows rather than a full US tour, or even years?
How about a video on the Essential Items for TM's...
How was the 1st show day?
No tuner? Or do you use whatever the band has available?
Will you be joining Electric Callboy on their US tour as well?
Tank, are those chemicals safe for all guitars? Guess the real question is will they react with nitro on a Gibson? Enjoy Powerwolf.. awesome live band!
Are you allowed to wear a black tee of the bands merc? Have any bands required a different dress code on the road?
You want to be only in black off stage, so logos and printing will make you more visible to the audience. If you do corporate event work, then we are in a black polo shirt.
Can "Finger Ease" be used directly on wood ? I sanded the clear coat off my bass to slide over the neck better.
Stupid question. Do you pay the prducts yourself and bill the band/company like a subcontractor?
You got some tin snips? Good for you
Fingers crossed that the Electric Callboy tour happens this time.
Do you bring oxen ?
omg shoes
How often do you change strings?
You need to react to the new Nanowar of Steel song Disco Metal, it is hilarious!
What brand are your shoes?
Would be awesome for you to get Josh Middleton on a podcast someday
"i like to lubricate the bridge and the nut" -tank 2023
What's the purpose of the tiny baseball bat in the workbox? 🤨
It's actually a magnetic tool bar. If I'm using pliers or something and need them out I can stick them to that bat for quick grabs. 😂
Just wondered have u ever had the issue where u tune the guitar...and open strings it is fine but as soon as u do chords it just sounds off, I wondered what the fix is thanks
Buy some slip on ice cleats that you can slip onto the bottom of your shoes. It could be icey out there.
TAAAANK dude you have to react to insomnium's new song Godforsaken
I can't wait to get back out, just got my new standard JH custom plugs and oooh are they sweet. ^_^
I thought the Blue Ridge Music Festival was really insightful. Are we really telling people that they should pack warm clothes for the winter now?
Please react to Hidden Fates - Devil Inside
Why tech guys are wearing black on tour?
We want to be less visible offstage during the show to be less distracting to the audience. The industry term for dressing like this is "Show Blacks".
What Steve said.
in my days off I have to stop wearing my work clothes.....I'm literally can enter any concert without anybody asking me any question.....this is sad, today I'm gonna buy myself a colored hawaian shirt.
Am I misunderstanding or are you providing your own cleaning supplies? Is that really normal?
As a drummer, I always wear shorts during shows! I'll have a hoodie or jacket, my legs don't get cold much lol
It really is, indeed, always better safe to be sorry.
What? No leatherman?
There aint no too good ear protection.
If you can't fix it with duct tape, your not using enough duct tape.
Hey tank, since you were a drum tech! What kinds of stuff would you use or liked as a drum tech?
