Haha yeah I guess it will depend on your experience. I had come from a massive PC rig, so this was extremely light for me! But I can see for some that have been using Apple products for a while it would be on the heavier side.
No, had a very echoey room and only had a clip on rode wireless go. I usually have a completely different setup. (Last minute video) so normally I use a Sony wireless lapel going into a zoom digital recorder and a rode NTG2 boom for alternate audio.
Hello, thank you, please, what configuration would you recommend for music production including a lot of vst instruments and plugins (logic pro) and also video editing? thanks a lot
The M2 Max could handle all of that easily. You may not need the M2, the M1 Max is also very powerful, but if you want a computer that will last you through the next 5 to 6 years of software upgrades for editing the M2 Max will certainly get you there.
I have not, I was transferring data from my old PC first and that takes a while, plus I had another video edit I had a deadline for, so but now that I’m about done with those I can conduct a speed test soon. 👍
Is it true that they resolved the scalability issue with 4k monitors? The previous Mac studio apparently had issue's with not being able to being compatible with 27 inch 4k monitors. & please do a video showing how it performs while you edit 4k & 8k footage.
I did hear something about this, I can’t remember if it was resolved with the MAX or just the Ultra. I might have to look into that. I am currently getting all my data transferred to the M2 from my PC, but once I have it up and running I will definitely do a video showing how it processes in Adobe Premiere while using multi-cam editor. (That was the major thing that bogged down all of my computers) The M2 should handle it with ease! 🤞🏼
@@TheRayk47 Look forward to seeing the editing video. Cause alot of new video's on UA-cam of people reviewing the m2 ultra. Not many showing the m2 max.
Hi , I understand that there have been rumors about this in various places on UA-cam, but I want to mention that, while there are some people who suggest that they have experienced issues with scaling in macOS, the graphics capabilities of the M1 all the way through to the M2 Ultra (and the Intel chips that preceded them) are far more than capable of scaling all the display elements no matter what resolution you choose with no meaningful performance degradation. I have a Mac Studio with the binned M1 Max (10-core CPU, 24-core GPU) and have experienced no problems whatsoever with scaling on two different 4K monitors, setting the scaling to an equivalent of 2560x1440. I tested it with a crappy 4K 28-inch monitor from Acer as well as with the LG UltraFine 4K, a 24-inch monitor that Apple sold until recently. Yes, these are not 27-inch monitors, but it is the scaled resolution itself that could potentially cause performance problems. not the physical size of the screen or the pixels. This is because of the more complex math the GPU needs to do to use these fractionally-scaled resolutions. (One thing I'd mention about this is that a resolution of 2560x1440 is going to look slightly less crisp on a 4K monitor no matter what computer is driving it because 2560x1440 just doesn't go into 3840x2160 evenly, so if people are having this problem, it has nothing to do with macOS or any Mac computer.) In any event, this potential issue is not at all specific to the Mac Studio. It is rather related to how the macOS itself deals with scaling. But, again, the approach that macOS takes to scaling is not going to cause any meaningful performance problems on recent hardware. In fact, the default resolution on the MacBook Air is a fractionally-scaled one. I'm quite sure that Apple wouldn't sell the device with that default resolution if scaling was a problem for the hardware. I would recommend reading the following article if you're interested (I am not the author): bytecellar.com/2022/11/08/4k-scaling-is-not-a-problem-on-modern-macs/
@@demoman1596sh that’s really good to know. I appreciate the article! I’ll certainly look into it, I need to check with my monitors what it can do. I have a 48in and a 27in. One is 1920x1080 and one is 4k
Certainly for most college work any model of the studio will do great, I know the Mac Studio has been used for video game coding and development so I would assume it could handle medical coding as well, however I am less familiar with that.
@@SpinStreakYT good question, and yes, 5 years was my thought. Tech is moving so fast I almost don’t want to lock myself into anything for more than about 5 years anymore.
Please I need some help. I'm a filmmaker and need to edit my movies. I'm about to get a Mac studio with m2 max chip 32gb of ram and 512gbssd is the 512 enough or should I get 1TB
Video can take up a lot of space, the 512GB SSD would last for a little while, but eventually you will have to start moving older clips to external hard drives. I recommend getting the 1TB if you plan on storing large format video files while you edit. (It will also allow for some room for other files you may want on your computer) I have the 1TB and I know that eventually I’ll even have to move some files to clean it off.
You're the only channel talking about he M2 Max Studio - Everyone is jumping on the ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA - Marsha, Marsha, Marsha. Not everyone has 4k to top for the m2 Ultra. Wish I could see some M1 Max vs M2 Max comparisons. Lastly - If you are thinking about getting an M1 Max or M2 Max - think about this.... Is your time worth the 2k difference in exporting code or video. For me I can wait the 3 extra minutes or a video render. If you are a production house spitting out videos everyday and have tons of suscribers and a UA-cam Ca$h Cannon - then buy the M2 Ultra. I picked a M1 Max at Costco at their special sale price of 1500 a month ago. I bought a 2TB external drive for my files and am just at 1800 (plus taxes). Note - I believe the hard drives are faster when paried at 1TB and I think they are a little slower with the base 512GB (still around 5.5GB/5500MB a second - yes a second)
I totally understand that, this was my first Mac purchase in a while, and only my 3rd Mac computer total. So the idea was to transfer to the M1 MAX from my PC until the M2 MAX dropped and was the same price I was planning on spending. So it was a no brainer for to go ahead with the M2. However, you are definitely right for those people who aren’t pumping out tons of high resolution videos everyday, they can save some cash and go with the M1. Appreciate the comment!
The M1 max is the same price as the m2 max. Apple have stopped selling the M1 max on their site because of this new m2 release. Pointless going for a older chip over the new chip. Unless you meant the ultra.
@@dannyh1891 yeah generally they are the same price, however there are a few exceptions I’ve seen depending on where you buy. But I know they plan on reducing the price by $100, it’s not much but it’s a little less. Not sure when that will start happening.
That's all well and good, but I have a question is there no mouse? Deliver with for the price!!! after when Apple says that it is ecological I find that there is still a lot of packaging of plasticized paper and other !!! which are frankly useless but hey they had to hire a team of designers to manufacture the packaging that's probably why it's expensive MDR C'est bien beau tout ça mais j'ai une question y a pas de souris ? livrer avec pour le prix !!! après quand Apple dit qu'il est écologique je trouve qu'il y a quand même beaucoup d'emballage de papier plastifié et autre !!! qui sont franchement inutiles mais bon ils ont dû embaucher une équipe de designer pour fabriquer l'emballage c'est sans doute pour ça que ça coûte cher MDR
On the M2 Max, the two front ports are USB-C and there are 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports on the back. Good video.
Appreciate that clarification! Really helpful
Funny, the first thing I noticed when I got mine the other day was that I thought it was heavy. Lol. Super fast so far though!
