    This is my mothers garden at my hometown.
    I am currently on a holiday here and thought of making another pond for her. She likes keeping fish ponds in our small garden.
    This was a very low cost built and I mostly used materials that were lying around. Even the guppy fishes were taken from another pond that we have here. In total I think it would not cost more than INR 800-1000 or about USD 10-12$. If you have access to an old tub, some soil, sand and plant cuttings it might work out even cheaper.

      I like your mother`s garden . It has that really nice , calming vibe , like most well established gardens do .
      Maybe one day you could make a short video catching some of the best scenes of her garden .It does look really nice . 🪴🌴🌱🌷☘❇

    Doesn't water quality get degraded due to sunlight like mine turns yellowish plus algae growth is insane ...

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  Місяць тому +4

      Should be away from direct sunlight. Heavy planting and lots of floaters to filter out light. Emerged plants to draw out unused nutrients. Regular water changes. More info on care and maintenance here ua-cam.com/video/8PJz5MxZN-Q/v-deo.htmlsi=rZi2tJqzX1X94d6Y

    • @ErikAndrew-q2p
      @ErikAndrew-q2p 16 днів тому

      Too much direct sun not only fuels algae and nutrient growth but boils the plants and fish. Maybe an hour of early morning sun is fine, for the plants to grow and to keep the fish healthy, but not anything extensive.

    Hello, I watch your videos with pleasure and admiration, but I have a question, don't the fish die or get sick (white spot disease, etc.) in winter, when the weather is cold?

    • @TheUrbanNemophilist
      @TheUrbanNemophilist  Місяць тому

      Use heater in winter or bring setup indoors. Guppies are tolerant of temperature fluctuations to some extent.

    • @ErikAndrew-q2p
      @ErikAndrew-q2p 16 днів тому

      Also, think about the possible location where this channel is based. I don’t actually know, lol, but it could be somewhere warmer or tropical even. I live in San Diego, California, and I have a setup like this outside. Even though it doesn’t freeze here, and we’re five minutes from the Pacific Ocean, we still can’t just put any fish or plant in… it only gets down to about 45° F or 50° F (7°-10° C) in winter, so the best fish choices for that are, surprisingly, platies, swordtails, mollies, and guppies. Basically any live-bearing, South American species can handle living outside as long as there are no freezes. Lol. In the summer though I want to try a tiger barb pond.
