Love this boat man, sexiest lines ever and it's got that Miami juiciness. Big B, you got me into boats just recently and I'm proud to be a member of the Boat Gang! I'm tinkering and tuning a UDI Arrow and all your vids have been really good help. I would have added 15kph or more to the stock speed and still on stock electrics. Thanks for all the tips and can't wait for the next upload!
Nice one man. The colour coordination looks awesome! I love the pink haha. I haven't seen a solid drive shaft for awhile but when they work they work very well 👍
Great video! Especially for someone like me who knows nothing about RC boats and got one on trade. What kind of grease do you use on a “stuff tube”? Marine gear grease?
What a great, informative and down to earth video, super for us beginners, thanks!! I have a couple of questions relating to building my first own boat. First, I have drawn and a catamaran style speed boat in 2 sizes, 36" and 44". I have srared 3D printing both to get a feel for size. I plan to use dual 4068 Kv 1700 engines, dual 150 Amp ESC's and dual 6S 65C 5 Amp batteries. I am not after super speed and would prefer building the 44" version, will power be enough? Second question is the drive shaft. I thought it was necessity to use flexible drive shafts to get horisontal propeller mounting, but is it ok to use a rigid drive shaft and what is max down pointing angle of the shaft? Also, if I use a flexible drive shaft for these motors, should the shaft be 4 mm or 4,78 mm or 1/4"? Again, thanks for my kind of film/info!
I got my first boat about a month ago I got the proboat stealthwake its brushed and its fun but I need more speed what a good cheap setup I was looking at the dynamite brand esc and motor on Amazon but didn't buy bc I didn't know if it was priced correct
Great turnigy 50esc paired with turnigy 3650 is a cheap set up if you want more power go with the turnigy 70aesc instead of 50a. www.ebay.com/itm/RC-Turnigy-Marine-ESC-50A-/253731684097?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286 www.ebay.com/itm/TURNIGY-XK2845-3650KV-BRUSHLESS-MOTOR-2-4S-4-POLE-RC-CAR-TRUCK-EDF-BOAT-PLANE-/274811719632?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286. Runs cool plenty of power
Dear Ironclad, I saw a You-Tube post that covered motor selection -- power vs boat length, batteries etc. All too did. wiht this subject. I am unable to find it one line -- can you please give me the link? Best regards, Ian.
To Ironclad, I am learning a lot like a bumch of other guys and this is a battery power thing. I run the proboat sonicwake all stock. 2- 7.4v lipos in series the boat is about 32mph and there is no heat on the esc or motor, maybe 95f, but the batteries get hot, 129f, 135f.... 7200mah, 100c..Then 3 of the same batteries in series, not as hot but the motor and esc is just warm, 112f, 115f, but batteries 125f, 134?? 139F.. Motor and esc are fine no matter what, but why are my batteries so hot? Thank You
Just curious on what you are using to make your epoxy colored like that? I bought a premade haul off of eBay and I'm going to reinforce the whole it's my first time doing this
I have RC cars but never had a boat before, I have a question I don’t see a water pump on this boat does it have a pickup that hang in the water just pushing the water through the system? Will that be sufficient if so ?
Building my first 3D printed boat and bought an ESC that has 4 nozzles. I assumed I need two water pick ups until I realized how they are supposed to be connected with just one. Thanks.
Have you heard of Oxidean Marine anf their dominator, mini dom boats? I was following his channel for a few years and they seem like super crazy, fast and amazing designs.
I have a silly question, but is there a way to determine inlet vs outlet for an ESC? I have a Seaking 90A V3 RTR and there is nothing labeled that specifies inlet vs outlet. I appreciate any help!
@@IRONCLADRC Yes sir! Tremendously! I have been learning a lot from you videos. I am almost done with my boat and also working on a 3D printed boat for my son. Lets just hope they work haha.
@@IRONCLADRC what width wood did you use? Plywood? I'm about to get the sheet of wood to start my first build since I don't want to wait for the 3d printed one to be my first lol. I'm ordering the E fiber sheets and epoxy. I have epoxy and hardner would that work the same?
I'd use bass wood or balsa wood, 16" & up use bass wood 16" & under Bala should do the trick. I used thick plywood for this boat and I regretted it way to heavy .... 3/32 bass wood should be perfect for a mono hull 16-24" use alcohol or ammonia to soak the wood in so you can bend the wood with out breaking it
Grimm racer grease is a great grease to use. As long as the stuffing tube doesn't get so hot that it heats the epoxy up to the point of delamination... if it's warm it should be OK. Thanks for watching
That grease is just as good. Check your stuffing tube aswell make sure there's no kinks. Also doesn't hurt to remove stinger and check alignment to the stuffing tube (where tube and stinger mate up) good luck brother
How does that thing steer with the prop beyond the rudder? I'm modifying a boat and i'm gonna need to bring the prop out to the rudder. Been wondering about it. Thanks.
Hello. I have a fully stock zelos 36 and just bought some custom props. What do I need to do to my boat as far as adjustments to accommodate the new props? Thanks
I want to build RC 60inch catamaran boat With twin 4092 ,1250kv,150a ESC,6s Total of 12s and I don't know which props I should use for highest speed Please suggest me good props that can give high top speed
Oh man. lowergood kv motor is a great start! IT should turn a 1.7 pitch prop. I've had very little experience with cat hulls check out ose forums they can give you some good advise.
I would only polish, very very lite by hand youll be suprised ay how much a dremal polishing wheel will take off a prop and make it out of balance so do it at your own risk. ive been working onbalancing a prop for e few days now. if its for a boat 6s and greater your better off just leaving it alone
Need PROP help? Building 70inch deep vee (hulls weight 9 lbs empty)...Leopard 56110 780KV , Seaking 130HV Esc, 8s.... what size Prop do you suggest? I want speed but dont wanna burn anything up. Thanks in advance.
Maybe a octura x 665 that's 21/2" wide and has more pitch than a x465. Never built a boat of that size. I've been running a pranther 260 on this 42 omg (OVER KILL I KNOW). Amazing acceleration and the Temps have been warm..... check ose forum they maybe able to help more than I
Greetings friend; i have a few electric boats; different categories; great fun; but what really brings me here is the fact that i just purchased a barelyused, no longer available, deep vee, Enforcer type 50 inch long x 14 inch wide and about 12 pounds of weight with no engine; fiberglass hull with all of the outdrive already installed. The flex shaft is a 1/4 inch with a stock 79 P1.4 metal prop already installed. Sinnce money is of no issue; I'd like to convert this gasser into a clean, quieter and more efficient hassle free machine. In other words; brushless' I really love this hull; and i intend to keep it for a long time' I want to go fast; but not that fast; sport racing speeds; no blistering competition speeds; just a tad more than the 26cc gasser that this thing used to have before i bought it' If its possible; and based on the provided data; could you recommend the type of gear I should get in order to make this conversion possible? I would really appreciate your attention on this matter' Ps; your instructionsl videos are very insightful and a Godsend' I'll patiently await your response to this request'
The Kv rating is the RPM of the motor (k) per volt (V) with no load. For example, a brushless motor with a Kv rating of 3000 powered by a 12V power source would be capable of 36,000 RPMs (multiply 3000x12). This is the max RPMs that this motor can reach under no load

like to see a retro lifting wing boat mono 1970s
I only own one boat with a rear wing, it's a little 1:20 scale atlas hydroplane. Retro wing would be cool though.

Epoxy resin dye
I have RC cars but never had a boat before, I have a question I don’t see a water pump on this boat does it have a pickup that hang in the water just pushing the water through the system? Will that be sufficient if so ?
Most rc boats use a ruder style water pickup that forces water throughout the cooling system

Yea you can use 1 cooling line or two most boats just need 1 main line unless your turning big props thanks for watching

The prop works best if the prop blades are just in front of the ruder blade. With just enough clearance for rudder pivot
