How to shorten height on a McFarlane DC figure

I think this is a great idea! I think you should take off some on the upper thighs so the lower leg doesn't look so stumpy. You can also add in a thigh swivel while your at it. Will definitely be trying this out.

i’ve been experimenting with a fodder mcfarlane fig myself and i’d suggest making a little crater within the ankle so it transitions in more easily.
cut less too! you can always make the hole deeper in the torso so it shortens, and if you want thigh swivel you can do the thigh swivel mod and cut it down a bit! helps with not having to rely on cutting the ankles solely.
if the arms are too long… no clue. i’ll try and figure that out myself. still experimenting so dont take my word on it

If you're dead set on having your collection all be 6" then dont collect McFarlane.

​​@@pcsmproductions337 what needs to be done is that you need to countersink the ankle joint so that the transition from your cut to the ankle doesn't look so abrupt and ugly. If you had cut maybe a 1/8"-1/4" less and carved out a spot to countersink the ankle the transition would look better. Next time cut less, do the countersink and test the height, trust me the results will look better.

@@angel-zd1mk slimming off the top where it is hidden by the shorts would be where I would do it, not chopping off mid-thigh in an attempt to add a thigh swivel because the missing chunk would break up the sculpt too much like chopping at the bottom flat.

@@BatFan1 mmm i see, but i was thinking cutting and sanding it down so its more smooth when it transitions. the crotch piece doesnt help hide much so.. thats why the thigh mod + thigh shortening was an option i thought of

Well with any custom sometimes it may look off but these figures they are for display pieces so it doesn’t really matter to much.

I mean this great and all. However, We shouldnt have to do this tho? Why does he have the animated series scaled at 6 inch. He cant scale the rest of the line at 6 inch and save him some money on plastic is down right stupid. Aint no one want 7inch scaled figs if we are doing all this, unless you collect 7 inch figs exclusvely. Great video my guy.

Thank you! And we agree with you 100% 6 inch and 3.75 inch figure are two most collected size figures so why settle for 7. We hope to come out with a future video updating this method so stay tuned!

Well the majority doesn’t want 7inch there don’t have as much articulation as 6 inch and also don’t fit with most dioramas right, now we have to customize our sets to accommodate the extra inch or two

It’s the most bought size action figure lol. Been collecting for almost a decade so I know what I’m talking about. I know what your gonna say “years has nothing to do with blah blah” bud it’s ok no one is saying your 7 inch figures are a problem just 6 inch figure are the most bought size in figures go to a store and tell me what is the average size of figures you see, go to a convention and do the same cause again like years collecting I’ve been going to cons for almost 12 years and That’s the average size figure seen. But again I don’t know what I’m talking about lol
