    Hi,
    Thank you so much for the video, it was really helpful. I am travelling to Italy in a month with my family. Super excited. I had a few questions tho.
    1. How often does the ferry go from Como San Giovanni to Bellagio? I checked the link for ferry tickets but they were sold out online and we’re a big group :( Are they usually able to accommodate everyone that comes and get the tickets in person?
    2. Is the train station far from where you bought the ferry tickets? What was the place where you bought the ferry tickets?
    3. On the official link, the ferry ride from san Giovanni to Bellagio seems to be 13mins. But some people say it’s 2 hours some say it’s 50 mins. I am a little confused on how long it takes to get to Bellagio?

      Thank you so much for watching!
      1. From what I observed, it seemed like they were able to accommodate a lot of people when buying the ferry tickets in person, which was also what I did. But I would keep checking online just in case!
      2. I'd say it was about a 10 minute walk from the train station to where we bought tickets and it's a straight shot to get there so it should be quite easy to find.
      3. It took us from Como San Giovanni to Bellagio in about 2 hours on the ferry - they made a lot of stops in between in the smaller towns. But the ride is nice with beautiful views!

    Thank you so much for the video-super informative-love it! I'll be there next week and will stay for 2 days in Como. Could you explain a little about the ferry system? When you say "hop-on-hop-off," do they give you a certain amount of time to explore each town it docks at, or do you have to take another ferry? Does the 25 EUR ticket cover these changes? Sorry for all the questions, and many thanks again :)

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  29 днів тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching! Yes the 25euro ticket covers all the stops and gives you unlimited access to all the ferry rides. When you get off the ferry to a particular stop, you can spend however much time you'd like and get on the next ferry on the schedule. Hope this helps and have a great trip! :)

    Hi ! Thank for the nice video
    I have a question i hope you could answer me as soon as possible:) i liked the idea of getting back to milan from varenna. But did u book your ticket back from vernna or already in advance from milan. I hear often that there is no chane to book tickts when someone is there so better to book in milan in advance.

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  2 дні тому

      So glad you enjoyed this video! I bought my train ticket from Varenna back to Milan on the spot as I wasn't sure what time exactly I was planning to leave :). But if you want to be sure, you can most definitely buy your ticket in advance just in case!

    Thankyou so much..This video is very helpful..! I had two questions
    1. I am unable to book or see the ferry schedule if i chose Como to varenna !! How do i check the schedule or book?
    2. You got down at bellagio and again hopped off to go to Varenna .. Which ticket did you purchase that helped you hop on and hop off?
    2. Did you select round trip?

      1.You can check out this link to see the ferry schedule & book your tickets :)
      2. I purchased the one day pass for 25.80 euros which allowed me to have unlimited trips on & off different stops.
      3. I purchased my ticket in person once I arrived at the Como San Giovanni (lake como) train station.

    For 26euros You are able to see Como, Bellagio and Varenna? is that correct?

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  3 місяці тому +5

      Yep that's correct! It's a one day ferry pass that will allow you to take unlimited rides on & off :)

    Hi, did you buy your train ticket on the spot or you bought in advance? For the ferry ride, how long did you wait for your turn to hop on the ferry? Is it much better to book it ahead of time? How long did you tour around Bellagio and Varenna?

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi Christian - I bought my one day ticket (allows you to hop on and off the ferry for unlimited times) as I arrived Lake Como :) I'd say I probably waited for about 15 minutes to hop back on the ferry but I would also recommend you to look at the ferry schedule so you can plan around the times. I spent about a few hours each around Bellagio & Varenna (a bit longer in Bellagio).

  • @Angela-it5xc

    This is amazing :* But Can you please elaborate more about the ferry ticket ? so you bought one main ticket from como and with same ticket you get back to verenna ? do they gave you a specific time to move around and go back at the same feery or you can manage based on the timetable with same ticket ?

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  8 місяців тому +10

      Thanks for watching Angela! Yep all you need is that one ticket bought from Como and where/how often you choose to get on & off is up to you ~ it’s super flexible and as long as you keep track of time using the ferry timetable, then you’ll be set! I chose to make Varenna as my last stop since there is a train station so I could just go back to Milan directly instead of taking another ferry ride back 😊

    is it worth staying for a couple of days only in Como or isn't much to do/ see there?

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  4 місяці тому +1

      I personally only stayed there for one full day and felt that I saw everything I wanted to see :) I'd say the food overall is not as good as Milan or the other bigger cities of Italy ~~ but if you wanted to rent a private boat tour around Lake Como and have more of a romantic getaway, a couple of days might be worth it!

    • @awaywithjudy
      @awaywithjudy  2 дні тому

      Day trip from Milan is definitely worth it and doable! I took the train to Como San Giovanni from Milan and bought my ferry ticket there which allowed unlimited rides on & off all the stops in between. I only got off at Bellagio then Varenna since they were the most popular towns! And finally, I got my train ticket at the Varenna train station and rode it back to Milan. Let me know if you have any further questions :)
