For location I'd recommend somewhere in Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio, or Tremezzo.
Hotels will be more expensive, but luxury; grand hotel Tremezzo, Hotel Grand Victoria (where Ristaurante di Lago in video was filmed), Hotel Belvedere, Hotel Grand Cadenabbia.
For AirBnBs, as you're going in one week's time, I'd suggest checking the reviews given availability.
