      The law must be applied evenly. Besides, the issue here is gun crime and how to stop it. Enforcing existing laws would be a good start instead of making more laws criminals will ignore. If we stop disqualified, potentially dangerous people from having guns, that's good. If one of them is Hunter, good.
      Hunter won't be charged just like thousands of other criminals allowed to run free to commit more crimes that won't be punished. Kind of a pattern there.

    Here is my anecdote on police “morale”. I have three friends who were police officers. One quit and changed professions due to funding cuts. One retired early due to apathetic prosecutors who would not enforce laws on the books. One died because he was shot and killed in the line of duty responding to a false domestic dispute 911 call made with the perp sniping the first officer that showed up at the call. That is my view on police morale.

    • @Farwalker2u
      @Farwalker2u Рік тому +4

      Your anecdote paints a tragic picture for America. I do not dispute it in any way. I was a law enforcement officer for over five years in both Mississippi and Alabama.
      I would submit that humans evaluate their situation as an ongoing situation.
      If or when someone perceives that they are moving into an untenable situation (where their safety is at risk) they would chose to avoid that.
      Law enforcement officers often encounter situations where the risk is unknown (yet are required to proceed). Like traffic stops, like domestic calls, like alarms at buildings . . . . and so many other situations. Yet if something questionable occurs, then the LEO (law enforcement officer) is arrested, charged and tried for whatever, and the finder of fact (usually a jury of 12 people) is empaneled to decide based upon the evidence presented, and to find beyond a reasonable doubt that the person being prosecuted has done all of the elements of the crime or not. It must be highlighted that at trial the finder of fact has a relative infinite time to judge; while on the other hand, the LEO has a fraction of a second to decide upon their action.
      Law enforcement officers occupy a unique position in society. They are thrust into situations more so than regular citizens where a continuum of force is required to prevail in their lawful actions and survival. Yet those lawful actions are vigorously opposed often by people they encounter.
      The complexity of the infinite situations is discounted by the Left.

    What he said at the end is absolutely true! A repeat criminal broke into my son's home, took his rifle off the wall & my son was awakened by the rifle pointed at his head. Thank the Lord that my son was able to talk him down to the point he could over-take the guy. He chased him diwn the street; cops were called by neighbors & they got him.
    First, they let him bond out for 3% of a $50k bail. Then he didn't show up for his trial. Surprise, surprise! Eventually he was arrested again & finally stood trial, found guilty & was sentenced to less than 1 year.
    The consequences have to match the crime! Just like President Trump said, "Everything woke goes to sh*t."

A few weeks later they offered a "deal". All of the possible jail time trickled down to a simple summary offense. A few hundred dollars. Coming up in a small Mississippi, I know exactly what you mean. The last incident a local cop pulled me over and said that I smashed the 8" concrete curb at the intersection just up the road. I pulled over into the gas pump since I was going there anyways, plus I knew I'd be on camera. He walks up to my door with that, I was driving a hyundai sonata at the time and anyone with any sense knows doing that would destroyed the car, it for sure wouldnt be driveable. Told him I'm certain that I didn't hit it and said I want to look at it. Obviously I found no damage, he didn't walk around the car with me I might add. Then, he asks if I'd been drinking and that he smells alcohol. Told him no, and said the only alcohol I have is this hand sanitizer. I offered to do a sobriety test before he replied because I could tell something was going on with him. Passed just fine, and he left. I pumped gas and went back home. That's a fairly mild story out of all the experiences I've had down there. These days there's a lot of new faces on the force down there, young transplants from up north or out west, you name it. Hopefully the old ways will change.

Sitting in congress getting nothing passed just drawing a fat paycheck because you have to argue and be confrontational for every single issue with the opposite side, just because theyre the enemy, so you automatically have to disagree instead of working together for the good of the people on the few issues you actually can come to agree on, is what you really want from congress? What happened to politicians actually having skills like negotiating, too much of a swamp for you? And btw ukraine is putting us in at extremely advantageous strategic position that normally would require trillions of dollars spent over decades to attain otherwise, that allows us to circumvent having a useless coward in office who normally wouldnt even have done a single positive thing for this country, at least we can get one win in between him allowing us to be humiliated constantly until we can get an actual leader in charge. So now we can focus on the big enemy without the eurocucks betraying us and getting stabbed while our back is turned fighting china. In most cases the Judge would ask me what kind of sailor was so-and-so. I would always answer honestly. One Judge commented that he for once would like to hear the truth about a sailor and not just the "he is a good sailor" that he always seems to hear. Well the sailor I had with me that day was a good sailor, he worked in my shop and I could always rely on him when I needed something to get done. I told the Judge I will always tell the truth on the matter. Well fast forward a few months and I have another visit in front of the same Judge and with one of my not so reliable guys. He caused a 4 car wreck because he had to race a semi and merge in front of it, ran out of room and messed up the day of several people. Anyway when I was asked what I thought of this sailor, I told the Judge that I have seen better, this guy requires constant prodding to get work done, that is if he can be found on the ship and his work is usually substandard at best. 100% the truth. The sailor was pissed at me, and the Judge said something along the lines of you were not kidding last time I saw you. My shipmate got stuck with the fines, as he should have, and we went back to the ship. He tried to file a complaint about me, but the DIVO just told him that I told the truth and if he didn't like it, he needed to change.

    Repeat criminals let out on small bonds or completely scotch free is a bigger threat than any individual hun could ever be. I train with my firearms not because I have an agenda, but because I have a will to live and if my government is going to give the criminals more freedoms than the victims…. I better make sure I’m well prepared

    I’ve always owned “weapons” for protection of my family, loved ones and property, for the simple fact law enforcement has been reduced to report takers *AFTER* a crime has been committed.

      That’s exactly right. The police are nothing more than armed historians, who show up after the fact and record what happened

    I have lost faith in our government to do much of anything that is good for the American people.
