@@ladsfootyshow but you don't own Ecuador. Ecuador owns united states. in official games only one game unites states won. The rest Ecuador Beat United States. And this will proof in this Copa America 2024 with all the young players playing in Europe. From Ecuador that will take its payback of that loss in 2016. Hope that Ecuador goes far. like in 2019 under20 world cup in Poland. Ecuador eliminated United States and Mexico. Everyone including United States press, says Ecuador is nothing. Will see about that in Copa America 2024. In South America no team is easy and playing the most difficult qualifiers. I want to see United States and Mexico move to the Conmebol. I love my Mexican and Mexican-American brothers, the food, the culture, the language, the sense of humor, the strong family bonds. Yall are the best.
What's disappointing is that so many Mexican-Americans choose Mexico to support. Maybe because they've been better historically and your families support La Seleccion, but that does't sit right with me.
You talk about the US like its a foreign team. Y'all are American as hell, from the language, the accent, and where you're from. Chicanos, not Mexicanos. I don't mean that in a bad way, and.I say it as respectfully as I can in this context, but it is what it is. Know why USMNT was so good? They had someone put their best 11 on the pitch and let them play. The fact the USMNT didn't have a coach is why they were successful. Gregg never puts their best 11 in the starting lineup nor does he let them play free. Gregg is back so that will level the playing field in the future.

I would argue the US has been the dominant side for the last 30+ years. USMNT is 22-14-13 against Mexico since 1990. They had a terrible stretch when Mexico had their golden generation of Vela, Dos Santos brothers, Chicha, etc. but the USMNT has surpassed El Tri and I don't see Mexico taking back this rivalry anytime soon. I think you are over simplifying things when talking about US and Mexican players in Europe. Yes a lot of the US players struggled or go relegated this season but go look at where they played, most played on average or bottom teams in the top 5 leagues, so if course they looked rough when the team they are on isn't good. How many of the Mexican players are playing in the top 5 leagues, not many. So it's easier for them to look "better" when you compared things like that.
15 US players on this roster in the top 5 leagues.
3 Mexican players in the top 5 leagues, a couple more at Ajax but that's a power house team in a weaker region.

Funniest part of this was when you guys said Mexico owned the US when our players were kids… since 2000 the US is 18-9-8 against Mexico and has 7 trophies to Mexicos 5. If the US wins Sunday and the nations league then your looking at 9-5. Neither has won the World Cup. And all other tournaments are not senior team cups. So that statement you guys made is completely off base with reality. Reality is the US has better talent than Mexico and the Mexican players play with no heart like they use to back in the day.
The overall record goes to Mexico and that is mainly because the US didn’t start to even invest or take soccer serious until the mid 90s.. 22 of Mexico’s wins are pre 90s. In the grand scheme of it all Mexico has a losing record against the United States since the mid 90s. So basically your entire lives Mexico has came up short against the US. The problem is Mexico fans will never admit it and will always go to the “ oh yea remember when we beat you in this cup” and it’s just the same old bs.. instead of just admitting facts.
I give it to Mexico at the youth level and the Olympics.. but those aren’t senior team games and honestly Mexico has never done anything with the youth talent that won those tournaments for them. Usually they just fall to the way side for older players or “league” players with less talent

That's something the u.s hasn't achieved. Some of the other minor victories have been u17 wc Champs and gold and bronze medals in the Olympics. The way I see it now is that mexico has to send a message to all these b-c teams the u.s and Canada are sending, and that's buy winning convincingly. The difference is Mexico relies on there LigaMX talents at the moment which isn’t at a high level but the LigaMX prospects don’t get there push over to Europe or elsewhere. To the point where MLS is actually exporting talent besides USA players hence why globally youngsters sign in MLS. Mexico has barely 10-20 players in Europe including youngsters, USA has 30+ including youngsters. Mexico could sign Pep Guardiola and they won’t be able to flip the script because there’s not talent besides the same 4-5 names, USA has essentially the whole called up roster and U-20 in Europe in top 5 leagues and MLS 1st teams waiting to get exported and still developing. This is Mexicos worst point, and this is USA’s big break of talent and it will keep pouring with how big and diverse the country is. With many dual nationals asides from Mex-Americans. Like Balogun for example he was playing with Pulisic, Dest, McKennie, Musah in the USYNT ages ago and now they’re back together.

I don’t know if Mexico and Canada can fix this but Daul nats is one of the reasons why USMNT is sooo good in Concacaf.
Let me give you some examples. Mexico and Canada have a few and by a few I mean 5 max young prospects in a top 7 league. The USMNT have at least 20 young prospects players and have at least 2 in every top 7 league. I know not every player will play for the USMNT but a few will. You guys make some good points, however I think your “saltiness” and lack of historical context is clearly showing.
The US practically has a u24 team. It’s scary to think that this team will be together through 2 maybe 3
WorldCup cycles. They have played well under several managers/interim managers/assistants. That just says more about the players than who the manager is.
Historically speaking anyone who has done their research and has seen international football knows that the US for the most part has done well against bigger footballing nations (2002 Worldcup, 2009 confederations cup beating Spain, same team that won ‘10 worldcup, and could have beaten Brazil in the final, 2014 World Cup against Portugal and Belgium, 2016 copa America centenario and look at what just happen against England at 2022 Worldcup, practically the same squad, a game the us dominated and should have won.) example after example and yet people talk down on the US like they just started playing fútbol. This is the first time where the squad is respectable as a whole and has a pipeline of young players with a lot of potential who haven’t even scratched the starting 11 (again the US has a u24 squad. Just think about that again) the US Has never had this good of a problem.
Just imagine what a world class manager can do to really tap into the full potential of this US squad. Anyone who thinks the US has no potential to make deep runs in tournaments, with a much better squad than those of the past ( copa America/World Cup ) is purely a hater.

I want a good game free from injuries and cards...I don't care who wins. When Mexico or Canada play anyone but the U.S. or each other... I root for my hermanos 🎉

Glad I came across this channel. Much needed representation at the grassroots level of coverage. Really enjoy the "pub" like feel.
Not sure if you guys have a "Tactics, Data and Analytics" guy; but if I could recommend something it's this. If you could implement concepts like XG, Field Tilt, etc. into the conversations that would open you guys to a wider audience.
I think Mexican fútbol (both the league and youth)seem stuck heavily relying on "Tiki Taka" tactics from the 2010s. They need to update their whole system(they have to fix a bunch of other things to truly make a difference but maybe they can fix this within the confines of the current regime of Irarragorri), they are being left behind not just on the global stage but right here in their own backyard. They need to be more vertical, zonal/pressing. Be compact and narrow, higher intensity. Take Uruguay u20 team as an example. They were compact and defensively sound while maintaining a low to mid block and hit on the counter with extreme verticality against the U20 USMNT. Possession of the ball , was not their priority. Canada will congest and clog the midfield with a compact zonal pressing, mid-block and hit on the counter against the USMNT on Sunday as well(my guess at least)
If Uruguay and Canada can "sit back and counter" .....so can Mexico!
Either way you got a subscriber!

It also just makes the rivalry more interesting in general. Hope you lot figure it out soon!

Your analysis is falling short. It doesn't resonate with you the fact that giving that Tata and Cocca are two different kind of coaches, they put similar formations? Do you think Tata is du mb? The guy had a great career, do you think you know more than him? No! The problem is that the owners imposes the players they want to promote, like Henry Muertin. Most argentine coaches work fine to the point where most of S. America has an argentine coach. ONLY in Mx they don't seem to work and you should wonder why is that.
So it doesn't matter if you replace the coach, next one regardless will be the SAME. Another problem is the quality of the Mx players, they simple don't have the level, specially the domestic players.

The thing with the US is it’s all youth and potential. Pulisic has been around forever and he’s still only 24.
By 2026 World Cup this could be one of those scary teams that European giants SHOULD beat, but might lose in single elimination.
I kind of expect the US to continue to improve. We just have so many young athletes and the sport is becoming really popular. We have the money, training facilities, and our youth development keeps getting better. It’s sort of inevitable that we become competitive with Europe over the long run.

As a USMNT fan, I fully empathize with you guys pulling out your hair over lineup decisions. It's what we have dealt with with Berhalter for years now, and unfortunately will likely have to do again. The man left Pepi at home, started Ferreira in a WC elimination game, benched Reyna for Jordan Morris, and played Shaq Moore over Joe Scally. Each one of those is horrible on its own, but together? Unforgivable. These managers overthink things like they have to prove they're smarter than everyone. As you say, just do the most basic thing right - play your best players - and you're already ahead of what these managers are doing. At least you guys got rid of Cocca. Meanwhile, 4 more years of GGG keeping this USMNT team in shackles. Bad managers, bad/corrupt federations... the US and Mx aren't so different after all lol

We took england last world cup, and if it keeps getting more popular, so more of those people i named start choosing soccer over football....good luck with everything. Some are starting to do this and thats why the team is getting better. If it was the only option here like it is for the women or the mens basketball and baseball world cup....i can only hope huh, its a long shot because like you said its about money and here soccer is 5th choice for a great athlete to dream about making big money growing up.

CONCACAF needs more teams to be strong to improve the region overall.

USMNT supporter here, I like Liga MX though. Your observations aren't far off from reality, dudes, I would suggest you follow the money (that seems to be the most important thing for people who own the ball in Mexico). I'll give the following example and then wish Mexico fans all the best, I hope things change, because y'all deserve better than the bag of dog shit you're getting from the FMF. The world cup champs have to have a 7 game run (same as 2ns, 3rd and 4th place), so at best, you'll have a 7 game run and get a good chunk of change. Mexico plays 2 friendlies against whomever, a couple of weeks before the WC starts, that makes 6 games. If people continue to pack stadiums and the FMF continues to rake in money, why should they care how good or bad the team plays? They play 6 games at every WC anyway (2 friendlies and 4 WC games), why care when I get paid as if I made a deep run? The USMNT has at least understood that garbage players will only get you so far (see 2018), if you want a chance to go deep, you need to invest and push youngsters to the best leagues like it's going out of style. Every time I see a full house at any US venue when Mexico is playing, all I see is happy FMF excecs, I hope it changes for y'all.

My take away has been that mexico sucks. Tata sucked, but ive known more that the confederation is curropt amd they wont call up good players for whatever bullshit reason, they went to go play in MLS etc etc. The players cant compete with European players, simple as that. A new coach could help, but the entire confederation needs a rebuild.
