Just open your keyboard in gaming mode. Press the up arrow then the space bar. The next button pressed will be your binding key. I made mine the x button because I couldn't backspace when typing stuff but I can drag my finger across the screen to highlight and the next letter typed replaces what I highlighted so it's easy to fix errors
3:40 when I linked steamapps to the drive_c folder where my Vortex installation is located and opened up vortex to link the game, the steamapps folder did NOT show up :(

You know what would have made this more simple.....if vortex dident shut down the function of both trackpads and analog sticks while the app is open, makeing the only form of mouse control the touchscreen.....good lord, dident know id need all the peripherals to just download some mods....
Just installed vortex. Set everything up fine. Seems everytime I put the URL in and vortex opens the nexus page. When I click on download within vortex. It crashes and closes. All steps followed, just curious if you have had this issue before and if you found a way to fix that? Thank you
it worked for me before, but now i also get that, maybe the latest update changed something. so now i just download outside and drag the zip file to install the mods. works the same.

I know this video is a year old but I need help for anyone that sees this. Proton says cyberpunk is in a compatdata file but when I go there to place my staging folder the game isn't there. Idk how to fix this

And then I get to the staging folder spot i used proton to find the file number for cyberpunk went to the corresponding compatdata folder and cyberpunk wasn't there so I tried a few thinks and no matter what I do I can't get a staging folder set up
I get an error saying “no deployment method available" in Vortex when I tried to configure Cyberpunk. Using the suggested mod staging folder and clicking apply doesn’t resolve the error. I manually dug up the folder C:\\Vortex Mods\cyberpunk2077 and clicked ‘Apply’ and this didn’t work either.
For me, when it comes to using mods and steam deck, it's just easier to use a micro SD with Windows 10 for the dual boot option. Trust me, when it comes to mods, it is just easier to use windows.
If you're confident that you've done everything (correctly), I'm not sure what more advice I could give as everything I did to make it work is shown already. Or maybe you could list out details of what you did exactly so maybe I can spot any differences and provide some advice.
I can't find the Cyberpunk Fille in it's respective c-drive of the compatdata. I also noticed that the Cyberpunk you use in Protontricks is labeled as a non-steam one.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG I installed some other mods (manually mostly) and now I get a message that says. “Error caused by missing or corrupted scripts” I’ve verified the integrity and nothing’s wrong with that so it has to be a mod. Are there any mods out there that are a huge no no on steam deck? @@youronlysenpai1131 I fixed the issue last week. You need to ad winmm to you winprefix like you added version, it will prompt you about this not beeing recommended but go on anyway and it will work. Maybe there is another way of enabling winmm but this one is working
I did all you said but since i move the cyberpunk install from the steam files it just didn’t open the game it’s trying to download it again even though it’s only been moved

Hi! I tried and managed to install both Vortex & and cyberpunk2077 on it, but the audio on my Steam deck seems to have broken a bit. Stuff like the UI doesn’t play sound anymore, or in the game itself, V’s voice has completely broken. Do you know any way to fix this? Thank you!
I haven’t yet, but this issue appeared after installing .net & everything. I think my steam deck crashing and having some problems with the installation might be why. Still, I don’t know if it’s anything crazy or if a factory reset could potentially solve my issue or worsen my deck. I’ll try uninstalling all of the mods/verifying the integrity of the game files and tell you what happens though! It’s just a weirdly specific issue, and Steam support has yet to get back to me as of this time
I could not fix the audio issue for the Steam UI, so I factory reset it, and it works now! Thank you for your fast replies! I might try this again in the distant future, but it was a headache to get here. Helped a lot though!
yes, bind it to a keyboard key, and then in the steam deck controller settings, bind the button you want to use to that same keyboard key. that's how i do it.
Unfortunately it's too much pain in the ass. Probably need to wait for Vortex for Linux, which will work correctly with the steam deck out of the box. For example I can't insert link to the Vortex window without a keyboard, and in the browser the download button through the manager cannot open Vortex 💀 In addition, Vortex and Steam crash when I open a browser window inside Vortex, for me this was the last straw.
Well, everytime I try to install redscript, gane fails to launch. Gives me an error without a number or identifier, just says that some audio files are missing or corrupt, then it goes into explaining that it could be cause of corrupt files or outdated mods. Then, if I uninstall redscript files still have to verify data. Until then it launches again, but without redscript. Its the only mod till now giving me that error. Btw, cyber tweaks is working by your tutorial

My game is Non Steam but the Cyberpunk 2077 game folder is in Home/Games/Cyberpunk 2077 and when I add it to Steam it already generates a folder in compatdata. This is incorrect? Should the game folder be in compatdata? Thank you

@@GrownUpGamingGUG I already moved the game folder and did the pass as in the video and it didn't work :(, the same error. I added the mods: redscript, red4ext, tweakXL, ArchiveXL, codeware and it works correctly. By adding the Equipment-EX mod it is the problem.

It only opens the overlay of your keyboards open so you can press x in game lol

Try holding the steam button and use right touchpad as mouse and R2 as left mouse click.

if you can't find the prefix folder then it's obviously not going to work. go find it first. use shortix if needed.

If you game is steam, then the game folder should be in common. Locate you game folder first.

if you are using the steam version of the game, you need to move the game folder back to the common folder.
I fixed the issue i simply opened the game from the exe file

after you installed cyber engine tweaks? try removing it and see if the game crashes. you need to troubleshoot where the problem is.

my cyber engine tweak works fine. just make sure you got the right version that is supported by the game version i guess.

Maybe try download the mod on browser outside of vortex. Then drag the mod zip file in mods tab in vortex to install and manage.
I love the linked folders. I use it some much now.
If you got too many you might get confused which one is linked to what.

Did you put the game folder inside the vortex mod manager prefix folder drive_c? Is there any errors in the notification of vortex?
Yes move it and update the path for managing the game in vortex.
