I'm with Harry on this. I can't sleep and have anxiety everytime I visit a new park. It often takes away from the enjoyment as I just want everything to go smoothly and for the "plan" to come together. I rarely feel anxious in my everyday life but when it comes to new theme park visits I always get it.....think its just proof that it's a passion and something we care about deeply. 👍
jamiedempo22 I feel the same way you do when visiting a new park or a park I have not visited in awhile. Unfortunately, it gets so bad sometimes that it takes away from my whole trip, and ruins my life in general. That's why I'm going on a trip not related to theme parks the next time I go somewhere so that I can reset my brain and try new things. I've had anxiety my entire life, but I've gotten better handling it. I also continue on no matter what.
Fun story. So I'm also a planner and the second time I went to Alton Towers I took a friend who likes rides but isn't super used to coasters. My first visit was a bit of a nightmare with no plan, huge queues and plenty of downtime so I came armed with a plan including a whole route.
Having never experienced a launching coaster, I distinctly remember in the queue for our first ride saying "Oh don't worry, all it does is go really fast." Darn near put her off rides for life 😂
Have never been allowed to forget it and whenever I'm getting a bit too into planning I hear "Oh let's go on Rita first, it's not that bad" to bring me down to earth with a bump 😂😂😂
This is such a great episode! I became theme park "crazy" last year and my future hubby is not (don't get me wrong, he enjoys them a lot). I am currently planning our honeymoon in september. I know it's not in near future but I already set up "honeymoon trip" in wanderlog (great app btw!) and I just need to plan everything! You can add flights, logging, itinerary, checklists and it also have budget feature!
I planned road trip around Germany (we are from Czechia) and we have like 14 whole days. I know it's a lot but it isn't 😂 I have in mind - 1 day Heide Park, 1 day Movie Park, 1 day Toverland (NL, its kinda close to border), 2-3 days in Phantasialnad, half day Holiday Park (to be honest just for Expedition GeForce 🙈), 2-3 days Europa Park and 1 day Trips drill ... I know its a lot, future hubby says its a lot but I can't help it. I can't leave out any park. I have fear that I will never have this opportunity and it is so easy to visit them when we are already in west Germany. I also have anxiety that one day in those parks will not be enough and we will miss things so I am watching multiple vlogs from those parks to know "everything" about those parks.
You know what I mean, right? 🙈
I get anxiety for drop towers I haven’t been on in a while like “falcons fury or Doctor Doom” but after I ride it I’m good. It’s just a little fear but I’m chilling. I hope you all find a way to better cope with the theme park anxiety. Cause it were all just in our heads. Good Luck Everyone!
I find a little bit of fear can make the rides much more exciting! :)
Have fun in Florida guys
I'm with you on the Spreadsheets Harry. And the cost benefit analysis can help you work out your price per credit. Lol 😆
I have a perfect halfway point for the two of you: Microsoft Noteblock 😉
